I wanna get into this game, really, but literally every match is just a game of all bots. I don't want to fight bots, I want to fight players. Is there anything I can do to get more players in my games? Am I alone in seeing so many bots, or is this just a part of this game?
Personally I really love War Robots frontiers, but what keeps me away from it is the same issue, just being in bot lobbies is not fun at all.

Welcome to the asylum!
Unfortunately bots are part of the game, especially when you’re starting out. There just aren’t enough human players. Once you advance with more experience and higher-ranked mechs, you do get more human opponents. As I recall, joining a clan and squadding with as many friends as you can also gets you more human opponents. But be careful what you wish for - at that point, there are a lot of lopsided games. At least that’s what I remember from my brief time in clans.

This is what you're asking for more of: Most matches are against Bots. After reaching 1k SP you'll get 1-2 players every other game. If you're not spending real money on every sale that pops up with a legendary item, chances are the real players will have something that makes the match an uphill battle. Mech arena skipped the whole "obtain massive playerbase" step of game building and skipped straight to "Pay to win, pay to progress, pay to participate in events, pay to do everything except load up what you have and press "Start battle""

Time of day matters too. I find that early morning there are fewer humans. TBH, enjoy the AI while you can. Most humans, especially higher up you go, will just camp and pop up and shoot and then go back into hiding. It's super annoying.

Second the importance of time of day. You'll get a lot more humans during the busy times. And if you have a pending "win X games in a row" task you'll definitely get human opponents, lol. The ideal setup is to do tournament during the unpopular times so you can maximize points per game against AI, then play CPC during the busy hours for human opponents (or more tourney if you're ok burning through extra tickets).
