1) I'm assuming (hoping 🤞) that all the token task events mean we can win 100% of prizes in the new Ember 8 gacha for free. Besides the EG8, prize totals are:  A-Coins - 880
 Credits - 141,000  Pilot Marks - 750
 Implant Scrap - 18,200
 Keys - 20
They've actually posted the real odds since it is free event and you can expect to win the best stuff last (unlike the "even-odds" paid gachas 🤣🤣). The whole thing is only 5 days long and the events to win free tokens from last just a day or two (the Accolade Challenge will expire tonight) so FYI for anyone who wasn't planning on logging in today.
2) Since GearHub has dropped, Fortune Crates now include various skins for mechs you never bothered getting (only those in unlocked tiers). The epic skins are fine, but the rare ones majorly effect the odds in prizes until they are cleared out. I didn't really think about this and did like 23 openings without getting any A-Coins. 😠When it comes to mechs you don't own, there's nothing you can do. But if you've gotten any mechs since the Hub launched, go into the skins section and buy any rares for 75k in credits each. That boosts the rates on the remaining skins a bunch and let's you clear them out a lot quicker.
3) If you hadn't noticed, they finally switched the gold Battle Pass final reward back to implants. And better yet it is the legendary Ability Cooldown implant! I haven't bothered with the pass for a while but this season I'm going for it. They're currently hawking single gold implants for the same price as the pass so it's a good deal overall. |

I did the 5 games in a row and believe me, that 5th game was a nail biter! I kept hoping that I would not get a human opponent! I don't mind AI...even when they nail me from across the field while I'm in stealth or cloak, it's way better than trying to chase down a human opponent. Any way, IIRC, my 5th game did indeed have a human opponent and he stupidly stayed in his RM12 Ares for too long. He got a lot of kills but it lost him the game. |

Try 2x2. It's a lot harder for the AI manipulations to affect that. Or even 5v5 non-tournament. Both are less popular with human players (5v5 moreso). Another trick is to switch when you get to the 5th match. Like you win 4 CPCs and then you switch to 2v2 for the last match. My (anecdotal) experience is that makes you less likely to get a human opponent at the end. |

I've always had more luck in 5vs5 non-tourno.
People keep recommending 2vs2, but for me, something always goes wrong at some point (either I'm teamed up with a random airhead, or there's a strong guy on the other side) 😑
At least in 5vs5 I've got plenty of opportunities to destroy enemy bots, and get an edge over the human in the opposing team.

To be fair, on account of mental health, there's no reason to stress over the 8 for anyone without the 6 or 12 that isn't stranded in T5-6. Unless someone is a masochist running a 6.7 light mech, the 12 is the only relevant one long term, the 6 is needed for 5.X(18en) and the 8 would only come into play for 4.X and 6.1-6.6. See also direct purchasing Neev or Galvan to actually have a pilot for it, without spending a pilot's worth of Coins on removing implants. |

So I've done the switching modes thing twice now and it's worked both times for me. And the second time I tried it was definitely a very popular time to play with lots of people online, but I switched over to 2v2 on the 4th match and didn't get any human opponents for either it or the 5th. Anyway I'll be curious to see if it works for others. I'd recommend switching on the 4th match - I definitely noticed I've been getting tougher matches earlier into the streak these days. I agree 5v5 is probably the best mode though I personally enjoy doubles a lot more.
Of course teaming up is probably the best move. It's kinda funny none of us have mentioned that one, but I've also noticed every time I want a team for a task I can't get one, and every time I am looking to solo, the invites keep coming, lol.
So gross that the Dev Derby tasks are to spend 700 A-Coins. Spend 700 to earn 880 (assuming you get everything else done), barf. 🤮 I have the coins and an upgrade that needs doing but still.

Third time's a charm,today I won five in a row in 5v5,then switched to CPC and won three gold medals in my first match,my haul for the effort was 25 A coins,1000 credits and 50 pilot marks wohoooo.Bring on tomorrow so I can try and win this bounty again.

Makes sense it's bots unless a human takes over. Honestly I just avoid that forum now. The mods are useless, everything is negative, and there is just no discussion of the game. It's just a complaint hotline to an answering machine no one listens to. |

OK, so apparently they just stalled out halfway through the gacha event. That's a first right? I mean, as far as I remember if they started giving away tokens for a gacha, then that meant they were going to give away all the tokens you needed to win everything. Would have been nice for them to say something before people got their hopes up.
Oh and in other (bad) news, there have been "technical" problems for the last two weeks in giving most of the winners from the video contest their 500 A-Coins. They are still working on it, but their last post mentioned possible alternative prizes. 😤 Not exactly sure what technical problems could exist preventing them from doing this, other than having messed up keeping a spreadsheet of the submissions and not wanting to redo it, or just not wanting to give that many folks 500 free AC.

It seems to vary between stuff they want you to have now, for whatever it is that will benefit them, and stuff they want you to pay for. If they’re giving away tokens for something, it’s most likely because it will help push you up the ladder where the MM will feed you to bigger fish so you send more money on the stuff they want you to pay for. Somewhere along the line mid-event somebody must have discovered they were giving something away that they preferred you had to pay for. That’s my cynical guess. |

That’s my cynical guess. As I said before for ember, the 12 was the only "max" relevant one, but the 8 is a hot potato for 20 en mechs. Either people are biting, or *irl reasons that are barred from mention* are making Plarium really tighten their belts. They might decide 500 guaranteed coins every 10 days(400 weeklies, 10a:2000c) is still too generous. The Gase token event was one final squeeze before putting him up for credits. Probably the next pilot they'll grace the priviledge of being purchased with coins. All of the Chain guns are still cash only, and Miniguns, which are coins, do NOT have "rare"/blue implants. The HR 12 gatcha is really just a Dungeons and Dragons style intelligence check, because it's less than 3k coins when unlocked. If they did it for the 8, which is still real money only, it would have made more sense. Still bottom barrel BS though. Like War Robots, the officially supported creators are just going to keep gassing everything that releases. Plarium is definitely the one keeping test server footage embargoed until literal hours before an item releases, so outside of their 15 second "teasers", there isn't even a hype train for their item timeline. Literally every media source for the game is flooded with negative feedback. The "Neon Shop" aka "Real money, reduced rank" shop has officially been renamed to "Armory". No, Plarium, my inventory screens are my Armory, that's a cash shop 🤣 |

Some good news - the reward for the video challenge came through. Got my 500 AC and a token for the Disrupter 12 gacha. Guess when they were talking about alternatives they meant the gacha token, which was supposed to be for a pilot gacha.
Also they finally fixed the Gear Hub tasks to give credit for already completed upgrades and achievements! That was a nice surprise.
Bad news is I used 150 keys yesterday on Fortune Crates and despite having cleared out all the rare skins and once again having normal odds, I didn't win ANY A-Coins. Should have won at least twice according to the odds, but instead it was heavy on skins. So that's 350 keys total (35 crate openings) now I used during this event and no A-Coins whatsoever. Next time I am recording video - total bs.

He still hasn't cleared all of the skins introduced since the game came out of Beta,even though he had the vaults completely cleared before global launch. |
