Hello all, I'm a returning player and would greatly appreciate any advice you guys have for making my hangar more up to date (bots, weps, pilots, modules, etc.) I heard there's a balance change coming up in two weeks so if you could take that into consideration, that would be very helpful. Here's a screenshot of my current hangar - basically where I left off before I left War Robots. I was trying to build a hangar that I can use for all the modes TDM, BR, Dom. Phantom was my beacon capper Scorpion was my ace for Deathmatch Hawks was my titan killer Nightingale for teamplay, I typically used it for suppressing enemy titan while my former squadmates goes after it. I occasionally swapped this out with a trebuchet butch for TDM whenever I was feeling like being super long range. I have a decent arsenal of other MK2 bots and weapons that I can use as well though MK2 is probably nothing now considering I see deals on MK2 stuff. Thanks!

Looks like you quit when I first started over 2 yrs ago.
Swap out Nightingale for something else and find something else for your Phantom instead of the lightning weapons.
Ao Ming is hard to keep alive, do you have a spare Arthur?

Unfortunately, the meta has been evolving so fast over the past year that at the top levels, Scorpion is the only bot in your hangar that is remotely viable. Similarly, only Nucleon and Quarker are somewhat viable at higher levels among your weapons. So you have a decision ahead of you: either become content with being in the middle leagues (like most of us here have), or submit yourself to tons of spending or grinding (likely both) to almost completely rebuild your hangar into a top-level one.
Currently, the most popular robots (none of which are available outside of offers or event chests) are Lynx, Crisis, Nether, and Skyros, with a bit Angler, Mars, and Orphion.
Currently, the most popular weapons (none of which are available outside of offers or event chests) are the harpoon guns, Reaper, and the new grenade launchers, with a little bit of Pulsar/Magnetar and Puncher.
Newton is the best titan, followed by Rook, and with Indra getting an honorable mention. The titan meta is very straightforward.

I do have an Arthur though it's not really that leveled. I was thinking of waiting for a good deal in the special offers to get a cheap new titan possibly. The Ao Ming is still very much my ace right now in matches. I was in champs when I quit and came back to being in gold 3 but I'm sure I'll be feeling the heat soon as I move up.

I'm not aiming for champion league or have a top-level hangar anymore. I'm fine placing in whatever league as long as I am having fun and playing the way I want to play and also hopefully find some fun people to squad with. There's been a lot of new additions so I wanted some advice so that I have something to work towards in the game and not waste my resources building something when there are better options available. I'm not going to be spending a lot but I will consider picking up some stuff in the special offers if it makes sense and will definitely ask around before doing so. I also have a lot of components that I can use to trade for some better stuff though I will need to farm some silver to afford the cost. Lastly, I wanted to upgrade the scorpion to MK3, but it seems like I need some item to be able to do so. I guess that's another paywall that players need to overcome?

Yeah, if you're not aiming for any titles, you can still run those bots. I run a Phantom myself. I also run Tazers too, and they can still be deadly if you can keep your lock up close. You'll need to play defensively for a bit, and get to know the new majicks that are going to be coming at you, but you should be ok. Tabby is right - the Nightingale is the weakest link. Mender is a solid support alternative, or maybe Khepri, depending on your style.
edit - and yes, the Golden Dorito (upgrade token) is required for enhancements (and the last level on a drone). You can sometimes get lucky on leaderboards for this one, if you get put in an easy group. I think they sell 'em pretty cheap though.

I did get some new bots so far from keys and leaderboard I think, but want to ask if they are worth leveling or use something else. I got an Imugi, Demeter, and a Fafnir. I can also exchange components too and have enough to get one robot I think. Was considering either a skyros or shell. I replaced the nightingale with a storm ravana for now.

Good to see that you are content with ignoring the league system “hamster wheel” (as we call it, since it gives you the illusion of progress without you actually moving anywhere) and just play for fun, which is unsurprisingly the only way to approach this stinking game in a semi-healthy manner. As has been said already, your hangar is generally fine given these more relaxed conditions.
I actually quite like the Nightingale, likely since I only ever used it as a healer and not as a beacon-runner like many did before its nerf. I think it is underrated, but I did not blame you for ditching it for another healer. Speaking of which…
Demeter is massively underrated at the moment and of the three robots you just got, I urge you to try that one the most. Yeah its grey damage healing with the APPM-3TR pilot pales in comparison to Mender, but that is the least of the tools in Demeter’s kit. The real draw is of course the absorber shield, which given how most robots are equipped with Quantum Radar to counter the stealth meta, is quite reliable, which combined with the 500 meter teleportation capability make Demeter my personal favorite healer. Its shield lets it survive under fire even Mender could not withstand, and the teleport allows it to bring rapid relief to the front lines or escape a doomed situation.
I would also recommend Imugi, simply because of how fun it is. Its firepower is somewhat lacking, but its main draw is of course its mobility. It is crazy fast during its ability, even when not upgraded much, and the portals open up some fun tactics. Unfortunately, your teammates will seldom use your portals if at all, but having them around for your own convenience is still useful. In a way, Imugi basically recaptures what made people love the Nightingale.
Fafnir is unfortunately a mixed bag with equally mixed opinions on it. It has great firepower, decent mobility (low speed overall but the flying means it can still get around well), and overall low survivability, so it takes patience and some luck to use well. If a bonafide glass cannon sounds up your ally, maybe try Fafnir.
Lastly, I shall quickly list some of the workshop robots that are still worthwhile in the current meta (no particular order): - Erebus - Typhon - Fenrir - Loki - Shell - Behemoth
You could pick any one robot to really dedicate yourself to perfecting and you probably could get results out of it, but these are the safe picks that do not require a ton of investment.

O79 is bang on, all points. Demeter is an excellent support bot. Your Ravana could still hold its own too, but probably not with the Storms. Arnav Poe is priceless if you can get him.

I was considering Shell because I saw some legend league people have it in their hangar so I thought maybe it still has it's uses even in the higher leagues. Loki is one of my favorite robots. Used to run around with it capping beacons and ambushing with halos. I have a fenrir as well with lv.12 MK2 embers and igniters. As for behemoth...I ran lv.12 mk2 trebs on it I thought it was a butch, but it was actually a behemoth for when I occasionally just want to be super long range. "since it gives you the illusion of progress without you actually moving anywhere" - Progression in War Robots is only temporary like league seasons. You move up in the rank and trophy count in champ for it to reset back to 5k to kick off the next season. In that same sense, you build your hangar up to be a top-level hangar for Pixonic to nerf it with the next meta release or just have the new stuff be that much better and now you have to spend more and build your way back up again.

I've also seen people do well with leveled Cryo/Rime (especially on Skyros). There are also the occasional energy shotgun runners on Skyros and Angler (although not very common on either).
None is the best, but I wouldn't say that that stuff has to get thrown out the window entirely.

I actually run a Scourge Ravana, but if I had three levelled Tarans, I'd probably run that. They still punch like a gorilla, and you get extra 'style points'. also, exchanging components is a bad deal. every time. just bad.

I suppose you are right in that they can work, but I also would bet that your equipment is leveled, kitted, and played well. I use Cryo weapons in low Expert League and they are decent, but only decent, and the rare Phantom is usually just cannon fodder. If Vin5240 really likes this equipment, he/she could make them work, but otherwise I personally would not recommend them due to how demanding they are (both in terms of resource drain and skill needed).

Although there are some exceptions, for the most part I cap my gear in the mid-MK2. The Phantom is not an exception.
While I recommend getting gear closer to meta and which works in varying situations, some of what he listed in the OP is good enough to get by with for a bit.

Very quickly, I've started to notice...that I hate fighting nether with what I think are claws. Reminds me of those hydra/spiral griffin days. Skyros, I spent half the match chasing this one and trying to kill it in ball form and it was dam near impossible. It has a yellow shield too. And crisis with reapers basically one shotted my hawk like I spawned and died.

Phantom I can only get like 2 kills before I die right now. Scorpion I could even get godlike and is definitely the best bot I have in my hanger right now. I think Skyros might be my goal for now. Need a new beacon runner and I can farm silver to exchange for it. I think my hangar maybe is doing alright for now because of the pilots and have all their skills tailored towards my specific build.

Nether is due a nerf, but is a good beacon runner if you like it. Some do not enjoy piloting it. Lynx is, too, but is also due a nerf.
I recommend building (or buying the SE version if you see it cheap) a Ravana. Not for beacon running, but it’s rather tanky and with the Poe pilot you get 3 of the Transcendence abilities. Adding Phase Shift gives you one more similar ability to get out of danger. If you build one, Webers are good for counter-Reaper duty. Also good with Stabbies, sonic shotguns, blast shotguns, and the radiation guns. It’s older do unlikely to get another nerf soon but near-meta and can be obnoxious if played well.
