Liking my Gareth

What's the rest of your hangar look like around that Gareth?

Question for perspective: if someone really liked light bots and money was no object would it be functional to have a hangar of five Gareths?

Gareth is awesome bot - with his speed and constant move aphids simply flying around without hurting. Moreover - fast beacon capture and stronger than Stalker.

1. Getting to beacons as fast as possible should not be your priority. Getting to beacons and defending them/ holding them should be your priority.

2. The stalker is not a 'strong' bot, as it is not designed to go into ANY gunfights while unstealthed.

3. The gareth doesn't really have a place in any tier, as gold is full of missiles and midrange, silver is dominated by Gepards (the gareth will not be able to cope with lvl 12 mags when the bot lvl is low) and it just doesn't work in bronze.

But if you can justify how the gareth would ever be a better bot than a power runner (Galahad or a rhino for example) in any situation, I would be interested in the details. Thanks.

ⓣⓡⓘⓒⓚⓨ48, it is not in my head that the gareth sucks. I own a Gareth, it functions very similar to the Galahad, aside from the fact that you cannot generally take on plasma bots head-on like you can with the Galahad, as you can backpedal missiles with your shield up if need be. The reason I do not run it in my hangar however is the same reason I do not run a stalker, while they are good bots, they lack firepower and durability to be effective at contesting and protecting beacons like I said. While the beacon running role is an important one, playing the fastest bots in the game is not the answer. I don't believe I have ever been in a situation with my Galahad where I would have rather had a Gareth. Upon writing this message I knew that it would look like I completely disregarded the rest of your post, however what have said is already known to me, so I did not feel the need to bring up any of that.

i read all of these messages and everyone has great opions...

my opion is that the gareth i simply have becuase i could not afford a galahad at the time... i love the gareth with tarans/mags and im able to live the whole round with it. i use it in platinum (highest possible tier) and i can usually take about 2 rhinos (DB's) and i can usually take down 3-4 plasma/DB griffs and capture 3 beacons, and thats only with one gareth.

now the facts... gareth is vulnerable to RDB's and trident furies but can withstand pretty much any other meta setup... its faster than galahad at half the price at the expense for less health and less firepower but more speed and people will definetly underestimate you when your piloting the gareth... i myself avoid gareths but not galahads.

why is my gold so high?

Alright alright. I have not had success with the Gareth, and in low gold I barely even see any pilots (aside from banded ones from max/high gold) that are even any good at piloting their bots. I suppose I'll be able to properly gauge the threat level of the supposedly mini-tank Gareth's that can kill 3 heavy bots without dying (I'm really just messing with you, you know that right?). To be completely fair, I do feel sorry for the gareth, I ALWAYS target the gareth with my midrange first, if there ever is one on the field, and I just feel so bad afterwards XD.

haha CAMPER... you have unloaded on me a few times and one-shot my gareth LEL... i mean i allways never use my gareth against you unless i know you have no midfielders left.

Lying isn't cool. Nor is four posts in a row. Learn to edit your posts or you'll have people unhappy to see you really fast. Also, before you hit Reply just stop for a minute, breathe, and ask yourself if you have anything else to add. It's not a race to see who it's fastest.

I have no idea about the lying part so I won't say anything there... but... I feel like he just hasn't used a forum much... like he may be using it like a chat app, or an instant messager, whatever you want to call it.  Younger generation does that. 

Also, after seeing the WIKI forum posts in the VOX recruiting thread... I don't know that not ripping a new one is the best approach.  It's not my clan but it ticked me off quite a bit, just reading it.  It has been edited since... but what is there is enough to get the gist.

I wouldn't even bother with the Gareth until you've maxed the speed, at this level the bot has better shield durability, can be used as intended and can survive salvos of midrange (it will be army crawling around though...)

ill try not to do multiple messeges and yes i have a hard time understanding how to adjust from texting... i havent lied about nothing. but thank you for trying to help and on the wikia i got frustrated that one time and nothing like that will ever happen again i have passed that maturity level and decided to act more like an adult... i appreciate all the help and im trying to figure out how to edit but i think i got it figured out... FYI i wont lie on here thats a promise you can believe everything i say im a straight forwatd person and s=thats why sometimes im looked up as a pain and im looked at as a pai sometimes becuase i do tell the truth and what i said about my gareth run has happened a few times but thats not normal... normally with oe gareth i either die to midfielders or grap 1-3 beacons and kill about 1 1/2 bots-2 bots. yeah ill keep my cool, ill try to send everythingin one big message (if i forgret tell me) and im not going to lie .period.


i dont know a way to prove my gareth run... i have used it allot... mabye once i get my channel started in 2ish years i can send a video showing you my gareth run... or i could stick 2 cossacks and a gareth in my hangar and send you a pic of how i did... allthough i dont know how to send pics and i dont know why you guys cant simply belive what i said... im not sure if i mentioned it or not but on those times i get really good runs are very rare and i usually have some distraction help or sniper help and sometimes midfielders help me

OK, I will say that I have had very similar runs in mine... both with distractions and without.  I dont get up here and spout BS, my clan mates have ran with me running Gareths and if the battle is right, I can do more damage in that bot than any of my team mates.  It is not every game... but it has happened enough to make it my favorite bot.
