People talk about how complex the mm algorithms must be. I think itâs just a virtual coin flip. I canât imagine any kind of rule set that allows the kinds of matchups we see in this mess. Seriously, I think it just loses its mind trying to match up human players, especially with squads with SP and experience all over the place. Thatâs why I donât have any friends. Well, that and because Iâm an 「bum-bum hole」.

Danny LinguiniYeah. I had 2 lvl2 pilots with mismatched weapons just to earn a few pilot points. That said, my teammates seemed to follow me around, or box me in, while Wrathful was having a field day with maxed out RMs and implants. SPAWN, POOF, SPAWN, POOF.

Generally when I am playing 5v5 it has been pretty evenly matched. But every once in a while you get a weird one. Not sure if that is because some player just dropped or upped their SP or what. I know that for human v human it tends to take a couple games for the MM to notice if you drop below a certain SP threshold.

If it was the case, it would be someone else on the team. I think that 1 person can throw off the whole MM equation on team matches. Like if 1 guy is 10k+ and the others way lower, it seems to key off his SP not theirs. That said, MM might just blow a gasket every once in a while, who knows. |
