I've been playing Walking War Robots off and on since before the Golem reskin, and never upgraded anything to a large degree. Been back into it for the last few weeks and been getting some pretty good robots (in my opinion. it might be garbage/idk in yours). The robots I've got rn are the Freedom Fafnir, two different Mars, a Jaeger, and other bots too garbage to mention (t3 or less).
What I'm wondering is what bots to upgrade to Mark 2 or further, and if I should even focus on bots before weapons. Can reply with some T4 weapons I have if anyone is interested.
Also wondering whether to switch from Sharanga to the Ox Minos they gave for free.
Thanks everyone!

Of the bots you mentioned, the Mars would be the most competitive in the current climate, but most of us here would rather see you develop the Fafnir or the Jaeger. As for the titan, those two are quite different beasts. Ox is meant to be aggressive. Rewards it. Sharanga seems designed to stand behind something solid. What do you like to do?

I've run the Ox Minos with Lunar Squall (same build they are giving away) for a very long time now. Everything, including the modules are maxed. Since the Squall nerf, it has not performed as well. Recently replaced one of them with Vajra, and it performs a little better. If you have other weapons, I would not upgrade the Squall. But... lately I've been playing Sharanga, just to switch things up a bit. Like gus169 says, which one to invest in really depends on your play style. Minos for more aggressive... Sharanga for more peek-a-boo, with extreme damage. Both are good IMO, if played according to their strengths/weaknesses.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend the Fafnir or Jaeger. While I'm all for developing niche things, at your stage in the game it seems like you more need things that are rather dependable. Get the basic building blocks before focusing on mortar.
How far you level things depends on what league you want to play in. If you're shooting for M1 or Champ, then take things as far as you can. If you're trying to avoid getting caught in the meta-chasing whirlpool, you want to dial things back some. If, like many, you want to be in Expert 1-3 or M3, there are different ways to skin that cat for how to balance your league level without tanking. Some people level their bots a bit on the high side (higher MK2 or even MK3) while stunting the growth of their guns. Some people load level to 2/1. Some choose some meta-esque gear and marry that to decidedly non-meta stuff. Then there's a mix of some amount of the above.
As far as guns, again, it depends on what you want to do. Whether you want to do range, beacon capture, tanking, or annoyance (run "The FU Hanger") on a given mech that drives what you do. Likewise, there are different ways to skin a particular cat.
Regarding the titan, I'd generally recommend the Minos over the Sharanga (despite the fact I've been curious about the Sharanga for a bit). As gus169 said, it requires a more aggressive play style which isn't for everyone.

What bots or weapons should I be aiming for to create a strong foundation?

Ok, get a Fenrir and put Bernadette Wolf in it. Any T4 (gold) or T3 (purple) weapon should be viable. Other 'basics' might include a 'runner' (Skyros seems the standard, Loki is more fun) and a 'healer' (Mender or Demeter are both good). If you like long range, look for more heavy slots (Erebus, Behemoth, Crisis if you can).

Fafnir is best when you can get the shield charged up so to work that best you need to get shot at. That takes a bit of finesse there. There are others like that.
