So, um, I just had 9.2.2 pushed on me for iOS. I’ve checked the War Robots site, Discord channel, and subreddit. Can’t find patch notes anywhere.
What’d they to us this time?

Ophion was already there. It's likely some major bug fix. Usually point releases don't have updated release notes.  |

It is interesting that OPHION is not in Bronze Chest or Silver Chest and only in the Special Legendary Chest (25 Opens to get a chance at this) of the GOLD Chest. Along with the Pilot and special Drone Shai.
If you see one of these things flying around it is clearly a YouTuber or major Whale.
Wont see that only the lower chest for a month or two.

The OPHION discussion really got me thinking about the state of this game.
PIX is really vomiting out new content at a faster rate than ever. Spending little to nothing over the last 6 months I feel like I get further and further from the Meta/ latest and greatest.
Looking at the latest bot releases.
1. Angler/ Nether are uninteresting to me and aside from a few components I don't have them. Have a bunch of the Rust Rockets but will never use them. Don't care.
2. Crisis (250 components) and Reaper (1750 components) still seem months away from getting "lucky" to have them. Good thing is by then NERFs will be done and it may or may not be relevant. Likely NOT. This is an interesting bot to me and I would love to use it.
3. Ophion is WAY far away. Likely it will be useless by the time I end up with one. Probably end up with a bunch of the Grenade Guns post NERF. Who knows if they are relevant by then. This is also something I would love to try out and play with.
Point is now I'm ~3 releases away from the new stuff. GOOD thing is with the release/ nerf cycle I'm not really missing anything and saving a ton of Gold and Silver. BAD thing is one of the fun things about this game has always been the latest cool bot that you want to try out and play with. I'm competitive in my Masters 3 & 2 sphere and ride the ups and downs but my (main hanger) Scorpion, Fafnir, Fenrir, Ares, Imugi (my one exception... kind of) hanger is WAY off the latest stuff. Don't get me wrong... I can pound away at Seraphs, Nether, Angler etc. and more or less hold my own... but these bots have been around the block once or twice.
I'm done feeding PIX's little machine but not being excited about new content (quite the opposite) and upgrading (these old boys are all maxed) really takes a good chunk of the joy out of this game.
It has just gotten less accessible and less fun.
