What's up all.
So after about 8 months or so I've rediscovered War Robots (I see they dropped "Walking" from the title lol). I must say, the game looks beautiful, the new maps are fun, and I've been having a good time since being back.
Anyway,
After taking a few days to get back into the swing of things and take stock of my equipment I'm looking for some advice on where to focus my purchasing/upgrading.
My hangar currently consists of 3 level 4 Pattons and a level 4 Destrier. The Pattons are equipped with 2 Punishers/2 Molots. I have one set of weapons leveled up to 8/9, with the other 2 sets in the 5-7 range. The Destrier is running 2 EP Magnums (5/6), and I have an unleveled Golem in my hangar, with a smattering of starter bots.
After reading the forums it appears my work into Punishers/Molots was a bit of a waste, and I'm wondering what I should start working on.
I enjoy mid range combat, and I like the mix of speed and armor the Patton provides (at least at the lower tiers) and I'm looking for the high tier equivalent. I do also enjoy the speed of the Destrier with the power of the Magnums. I'm not crazy about the short range, but it's a play style I've had fun with none the less.
So what should I do? Obviously I'm not trying to jump into the highest tier over night, but I'd like to start working in that direction. I currently have 2 level 6 Pins, and 3 to 4 level 6 Pinatas in storage, and I'm a bit over 18k gold. I've seen a lot of talk about the Galahad, though I've yet to consider committing to a high level bot yet.

Edit: I also have 5k+ of the other currency, can't remember what it's called (the stuff from the workshop).

Normally, I would recomend, farming a bit in low level tiers. You get gold, silver and experience.

The upped version of a destrier with magnums would be either a stalker (wsp) or a gepard (au). But they don't really survive up to the top.
The question is, do you want a higher tier, or are you aiming at the highest tier.
I find that the griffin is an upped version of the patton, and it will take you all the way to the top.

I'm definitely not trying to jump up into the highest tiers just yet. I've held off on buying bots just so I don't get moved up, though I honestly have no idea where I'm at now.
I'd like to try and narrow down the weapons I want to work on so I can have some ready for the day I do pick up a bot, but I have no knowledge of anything outside of light weapons.

For now, since you're somewhat familiar with the game, I'd suggest setting up a hanger of 4/6 AG mediums to get back in the setting of things. Pattons, Boas, Vityaz, Golems. Try out some new weapons: Piñatas, Pins, Magnums, Tarans, Orkans. Mess with ranges: 500m vs 350. I'd strongly suggest avoiding AU and WSP 'bots until you're comfortable where you are and can make an educated decision.

I think you need to get one Taren and one Orkan and some sort of bot capable or using them. They will both be useful through all tiers and won't be wasted gold / wps. Practice with those on either a Boa or a golum (or both).

Welcome back to the game.
Just wanted to throw my $0.02 in.
Do you have all 5 slots unlocked? If not, throw some of that gold towards them. Your returns will noticably increase. If you do already then spoil yourself. Just do a little digging before purchasing so you know what your in for.
For now I'd suggest that you run your current tier for a while, it's a great place to experiment with different setups while you find your footing. Heed Orukal's advice about bot levels. Lvl 4 mediums with level 6 weapons is the ceiling for what is considered "High Bronze". There's more about that in the guides and around the forums.
Steer clear of WSP bots (Anything that costs the new currency) and Britbots (Gold purchase bots with the shields) just for now due to Matchmaker penalties. But definitely put some gold aside for later as they are great bots later on.
Since you like Pattons definitely load one up with those Pinatas. I'm also a fan of the Magnum Destrier, it's like a mini Stalker.
Moody, I might add that the Griffin is more like the unholy lovechild of the Patton and the Rogatka.

FattyPattyYT- You know, I'm not sure what happened. I must have burnt myself out and for whatever reason never made my way back to the game (not in timely fashion at least). I saw an add for War Robots last week in another game and I was struck by how improved the graphics were (not to say they were bad before), and I came right on back. It's refreshing to see a long lived mobile game actually show improvement over the long term. I'm currently in the deep depression stage, thinking about where I could be had I not taken a break lol. @everyone- Thanks for the advice, I think I'll take some time, enjoy the lower tiers and start branching out weapons wise. Been getting out of my comfort zone and running 2 Pins and 2 Pinatas on a Patton, trying to work on positioning and discipline. I'll probably pull out my Golem this weekend so I can start messing with some heavier weaponry. Oh, and I'm at 4 slots right now, about 3k gold from my 5th. I'm thinking I will go for the slot before a bot. Anyway, thanks again everybody.

(I literally alliterated) I will say that neither really work for me but a lot of people do very well with the 4 matched light rocket weapons. |
