In conjunction with the EMR nerf, they seem to have added about 1 second to Redeemer's ability where you are incorporeal but you stand still before backtracking. So you can line up a shot with EMRs, activate the lasers and then go invincible before your weapon fires. Definitely a nasty little trick, and one I am going to be practicing. If I can get it to work dropping down from on high, that'll be the ultimate trick shot.

Interesting... I have not played yet. I need to say that I always did that in the opposite order, first shot and then backtrack. I guess now I need to switch

Interesting... I have not played yet. I need to stay that I always did that in the opposite order, first shot and then backtrack. I guess now I need to switch Well you still have to hit the fire button first to get the shot sequence in motion. But now you have time to hit backtrack before it actually shoots & still hit the target.

So apparently everyone is saying the delay is actually a nerf. The visual of becoming invulnerable starts immediately but you can still take damage. I was a little skeptical, but this testing video is definitely persuasive:

There was an official announcement from plarium that it was a bug, and it's already fixed. Tbh, for me this is clearly a buff and nerf + childish explanation.
Their message:
Dear everyone! We want to clarify the topic of Redeemer’s ability that has been under discussion since 2.29.01 update.
As it is mentioned in Mech Arena | Mech Spotlight | Redeemer video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMQ04GhqmXk), Redeemer’s backtrack ability doesn’t activate instantly - it is supposed to be enabled after 0.5sec delay by default, giving opponents half a second to take Redeemer down.
Some time ago, the backtrack delay disappeared, and for a while, Redeemer’s backtrack ability was activating instantly without any delay at all. The 2.29.01 update that was released on Monday, May 22, fixed that - in the update, there was a fix that turned back on the 0.5 sec backtrack delay that was missing. Currently Redeemer’s backtrack functions the way it is supposed to

GangstaJabs tested it with ArcTorrents. Here's his breakdown of the timing for both Redeemer and EMR. Guess the "trick" doesn't actually work. Too bad. 😔

Interesting how the corrections to their ‘mistakes’ and glitches never seem to go in our favor.

How Plarium works:
-Boss, EMs can't kill Ares when shield is up and they don't look that impressive -No problem, make the damage to pass through the shield and say it's a glitch
-We want to nerf RM but we are afraid F2P will be upset -No problem. Reduce the radius and say it's a glitch
-Boss, how we can increase redeemer sales? -Just make the delay dissappear for a while and say that it was a glitch when you fix it
-People insist that they want free implant swap -No problem, tell them we can't because of a glitch
-Boss, your wife called for suspicious charges on your credit card on jewelry stores, and she said she didn't receive anything -Just tell her that there was a glitch on the bank's system

This delay debacle and Gangsta Jab's remarks serve to higlight Plarium's logic, regarding Redeemer's ranking within the new Progress Path.
Redeemer is, in fact, no better than Panther - hence it's placed in an inferior tier.
Now it all makes sense 💡
