Dude, c’mon. No one at Pix knows how to go into the table that shows these ‘tidbits’ to remove obviously outdated entries that have been there since at least 2016? How long should that take, 5 minutes? SMH.

More proof Pix don't play their own game. I'd be remiss if I didn't add the obligatory summons to GuitarGuy to further pile on. He's been banging the table on that fact for at least 5 years.
And he isn't wrong.

I always thought that was a weird message anyway. It's like saying no raincoat can protect you from rain.

Actually, it is technically correct, though poorly worded. Officially, “Energy Shield” refer to blue/Ancile shields, and if my memory serves me right, has never officially referred to Aegis or Absorber Shields. The latter two being called “Energy Shields” is purely a fan-made name. However, the terminology is nonetheless confusing and I agree the tip should be changed/removed.

Every time I read the line “Some robots can repair” I feel like I’m watching a commercial in 1991 with Sally Struthers telling me that if I go to school, I can be a VCR repair man.

Wording or no wording, Aegis and Absorber shields both use the same visual indicator Ancile shields use only differentiated by color. Aegis are literally second gen energy shields that even recover the same as Anciles but simply lack the vulnerability to energy weapons Anciles have. If the yellow and purple shields aren’t energy shields, then what are they? Edit: Explain the wording of and effect of Shieldbreaker too. 😆

From what I can see, Pixonic officially uses “Energy Shield” to exclusively refer to blue shields. 2) The definition on this website is technically correct, as Shieldbreaker does bypass blue shields. However, much like the loading screen tip, it is poorly worded due to clearly not accounting for potential confusion regarding Ancile vs Aegis vs Absorber Shields.

come on. everybody knows Aegis shields come from Zeus, AllFather. you just sacrifice a pig or something. It's not energy. It's divinity. and Absorber shields clearly come from Dragonball Z. they're made of gummi.

I’d say the website definition completely fails to address Shieldbreaker’s interaction with Aegis and Absorber Shields at all, since both go unmentioned. I would like to reiterate though that I agree that this should be changed because it is unreasonable to expect players to know these confusing definitions. I’m just saying there actually is a line of logic here, just a really bad one.

Uhhhhhhh, well, since Shieldbreaker allows your weapons to cut right through Aegis and Absorbers like they are not there and Aegis and Absorbers in addition use the same graphics (albeit with different colors than blue) that ‘energy shields’ do and in addition Aegis recharge just like Ancile and in addition act like Ancile with the inclusion of being able to block energy weapons and in addition the line in question was written long before the addition of Aegis and Absorder to the game and in addition and finally I feel it is your line of reasoning that is tying itself in knots here. C’mon. Give up.

C’mon. Give up. If you thought I was doing this to spite you, then my apologies. This is actually something I had thought about for a little while (this is not the first time this losing screen tip has been mentioned), and since I never owned a Bulwark, that line escaped my gaze. So I stand corrected that Pixonic indeed has no consistency with its naming and is basically lying. I “am happy now”. I will say though, you telling me you are enjoying this and can do this all day, but also are obviously frustrated and want me to give up is a bit funny. Also, thanks for giving me a new appreciation for proper punctuation after the mother of all run-on sentences.

The run on sentence was a blast to write. I wanted to make it longer.
Not sure where you’re getting the frustration from though. I thought the whole thing fun.
I was quite secure on where I stood on the matter, the only real question from me was how long it would take to bring the matter to its satisfactory conclusion. The best thing about engaging in matter of fact or spirited discussion with you is that you are a logical guy and willing to listen to arguments and honestly appraise evidence. You don’t choose to die on indefensible hills. We could all learn something from that, Lord knows I’ve been less reasonable about some thoughts of mine at earlier stages of my life.

The proof was watching the devs play the Youtubers a few months back...OMG.... it explained EVERYTHING! .. those dudes got the situational skills of a intoxicated baboon and have ZERO teamplay abilities. No wonder they come up with bots/modules to take away your abilities, its to make up for lack of there own. Same with the current range meta. Congrats guys, you just turned every mode into TDM you 「fluffernutter」ing idiots!

I think it's obvious that there was a major staff reduction/turnover a few years back and they never recovered.

I think it's obvious that there was a major staff reduction/turnover a few years back and they never recovered. I would not be surprised if that were the case. It does feel like the game is just not as lively anymore, with less effort put into engaging, seemingly in-touch community interaction by Pixonic.

That's when I started realizing they don't play the game, too. Then it was confirmed looking at all their buff/nerf messages. "According to our data..." eff your data, play a game or two and see. As a snarky side thing... yeah, a lot of us have run into the youtubers before and while no doubt having them all at once would be scary, the level of total team collapse the devs had was beyond failure. They weren't just bad at the robots or bad at the maps or bad at organized play, they were bad at all of it. It was like scared younglings versus six Anakin Skywalkers.

That was a painful video to watch - soooo cringeworthy.
I am reminded of an episode of The Office (US version) when Michael Scott is due to give a presentation via Powerpoint to his boss and hasn't actually opened Powerpoint yet.

It explains an awful lot really, but those programmers really arent there for the 'game' to begin with, they are there to implement Pigsonics revenue generation strategy. It really doesnt matter if game mechanics work right, or are fair, its whatever brings the $$$$ in. They really hit a gold mine when they tried out the infamous electric-spaz-bird approach (itself a culmination of various BS nerfs/bugs/cheats before it, now all in one package), and you'll see that end-to-end lifecycle from now on with any new BS meta that comes out.
Mars and Angler are next on the list I suspect. May take a month, or 6, or a year, but it will happen.
