Well, I’m debating the cash spend but I’ve always wanted a Cheetah. Today’s offer is $1.99 for a two-star. Worth it? Forget about it? Get it for thenA-Coin price that I could easily afford(16,000 +).

What's the A-Coin cost and rank? I got it long ago at 2-Star for the same price and it's still at 2.7 although now I'm just waiting for its upgrade cost to drop (they made it a medium mech but it still costs light mech prices in A-Coins to upgrade). I don't really see folks running it but I totally want to max mine. Just have always wanted to run it. The good news is blueprints won't be an obstacle regardless of what rank you get it at. You should have already saved enough to be able instantly max it.

OK, not sure if the deal is still active for you but I'll just post the stats from my notes.
Total cost (A-Coins) to max (rank upgrades only)
* Rank 2 - Max = 8,100 A-Coins & 2,664,575 credits
* Rank 3 - Max = 7,525 A-Coins & 2,659,260 credits
* Rank 4 - Max = 5,650 A-Coins & 2,585,000 credits
* Rank 5 - Max = 2,825 A-Coins & 2,185,000 credits
Now those costs are for medium mechs, while Cheetah is still at the higher-priced light mech costs. But when the update rolling out the new Progress System drops, then these prices will apply.
Anyway, just add what it would cost to buy the Cheetah in A-Coins at the appropriate rank for that, and then compare it with starting at Rank 2 for the $1.99 offer. My general rule is that if you get 200 or more A-Coins per US dollar then it's a good enough deal. I imagine that would be the case with the 1.99 offer although there are credit upgrade costs too. Anyway hope this helps!

Interestingly, I was just playing team matches with a guy who was running a maxed Cheetah RM12 with a maxed Boar pilot. We only faced AI but it seemed like it did pretty well. Good speed to get close and retreat and able to drop mines as enemies approach - it's a build I hadn't thought to try but seems worth playing around with.
