I'm going to be completely honest about something: I like how unfair War Robots is sometimes. Even though I know I'm going to lose most of the time, even to much newer players, it's really fun trying to outsmart people with what I have. I have used the exact same robots, my dream the Hover, my Ares, in the hell or high water of the shieldbreaker metas (about 1/4 of the entire game counters the Ares), the Redeemer Ao Jun, the product of 6 months of grinding because someone killed me with a Redeemer Ao Jun ONCE, and my Falcon, when I decided I needed more weapons, and I have only 4 hanger slots but a few interchangeable weapons, my Blitz, which when it came out I never thought I would have a Gust Blitz and now I have 2 gusts and a Blitz (even though I don't use the gusts on the Blitz, I have 2 Magnums on the top with Otto and a Scald on the left and a Toxin on the right), my techno Scorpion, with a Gust and 2 Coronas, 1 Yan di and 1 normal, an Orochi with Exodus and Glacier, something I won; I used to hate them, my precious Ao Ming I won, my greatest reward, still serving me well with 2 Vengeance 2 Cyclones, but I have enough because of extermination to finally get at least 2 of either a Cuirassier or a Gendarme, or maybe even a self fix or something fun, I have 2 Fafnirs, plenty of Legendary pilots that are not used because I don't have the sets but now I'm filling it out, and all the other meta stuff that's level 1 I've collected along the way, and the mistakes of selling special robots for silver at a young age, all of it, at the end of the day, has been a great time.
The sheer unfairness and the glimpse of freedom of Pixonic is what led me to start designing robots of my own, first the Bahamut, then the Asteroid, the Bulwark 2.0, the 1st Juggernaut with it's Demeter style shield before the shield existed, the Thor, the Ragnarok, all my own ideas, and an improved version of every single robot, a better version of the entire game, War Robots: Earth; it's what made me dream about how much better it could be, and learn to see this War Robots world for what it was and is, and what it always will be, a game.
I like Lynx. When I will inevitably die to one eventually, I will start to think of ways to counter it. How to kill it, because I'm playing the range game. I'm going to kill it in my Ares. Because my Ares in a way is the force of Retribution. I'll give it the hell it intended for me, as I always have done. I've died to so many Scorpions, and Orochi's, and Anglers, and Seraphs, and Revenants, and Mars's, and Fenrirs, and Luchadors, and Dazzlers, and Minos's, and Heimdall's, and Ao Mings, and Harpy's, and Khepri's, and Skyros's, and Fafnir's, and Ao Jun's, and so many more, but I have also killed them too. Of course nowhere near as much, but me, like most players, have successfully killed at least 1 mk3 of everything in my level 9 Ares. Every single robot. From Schutze to Butch, Ares to Hover, Aether to Luchador. So I will kill Lynx just the same. I'll enjoy it, because the point of the game isn't to get the best gear, it's to learn. To outsmart players better than you. To show how good you are in an unfair environment. To stand against the impossible odds of this game, to kill players in a weaker build. That is the spirit of War robots. However it plays out. And when you're at the top of the world, and always win, try something new. The goal is to make this game a tier 2 game. Instead of it being focused on getting gear the game for you is to get good at something different. Don't be the best at the meta, make your own meta. The best situation is to make everything meta; to have every single thing just as viable and powerful as the next in their own way. Use a Hover to kill a Seraph. Use a Griffin to kill an Erebus. Use a Carnage to Kill a Lynx, and Orochi, or an Ao Ming to kill an Angler, or Aether, or Murometz. Use an Ao Jun to kill a Skyros. Use a Scorpion to kill a Rook, or Harpy. And don't do it because it's hard, do it because it's fun.
Do whatever you want. Get out of the map. Explore the infinity of the abyss. Play soccer with robots. Don't get caught just fighting; don't treat this like a tier 1 game! Make your own goals! Find something else to do! Don't let your fighting skills and especially gear define who you are and what you're good at! Flex your knowledge, because knowledge is power! Use the Thermite aiming to kill someone 1,100 meters away! Out maneuver a missile! Be the best at superdashing precisely! Use a team to charge an instant kill Fafnir! Have a race around the map! Find Racing lines, and time ability use! Use the launching force of a Minos to launch yourself onto a beacon in a custom game capture the flag! Try to get as many non-flying robots in the air as possible! Make a space fortress out of players! Get something like a Fenrir out of the map and keep it afloat!
This is what the War Robots community should be about! Not about what the next Meta Robot is! There should be more! So, make more!
