Need some advice here. The legendary/Au reload implant for 3100 a-coins popped up this morning. Worth it or just stick with the rare?
Rarely run RGs but wonder what everyone thought of the implant. Does it make a big enough difference?

I have it and it does help. Maxed it will shave off an extra 3.5 seconds reload time over the rare implant. And generally I think reload implants are some of the best to get. But Railgun itself just seems to take such a backseat to EMRs, I'm not sure that it's worth the A-Coins now. My RG16s are maxed and on Agora yesterday they felt completely obsolete everytime I had to use them after my EMR Panther died. They do better in FFA though but still...

I've found that if you play the RGs carefully, you almost never run out of ammo or have to hide for very long waiting for another shot. The only times I get in trouble with reload are when I get presented with too many tempting targets at once or when I have a bad day and can't hit anything or when I have the wrong glasses on!  I also get into trouble facing Stalkers. For some reason, I cannot kill AI Stalkers even with their ability on with a single double shot from my maxed RG16s. My Archangel is only R5 so my RGs actually do 91k of damage per mag instead of the 94k per mag with Maverick, but the damage per shot difference isn't that big. I guess I'm just not getting critical damage when I'm facing Stalkers. |
