Pixonic just confirmed that a massive balance update is indeed on the horizon, and like the rumors said, it seems to be giving blanket buffs for weapon tiers and bigger/smaller buffs for certain weapons. Kinda stinks that it will not arrive with the update itself though and we will have to wait a bit more, but at least it is happening! We’ll have to keep our eye out on Discord to see the exact changes.

I anticipate that the top end meta peeps will continue to have whatever weapons are most effective, whatever defenses are most effective, and will keep on crushing just about everyone in their path. Every change that lets you deal more damage, let's them deal it too. It reminds me of when lockdown was first announced. The recent update exposed several outliers which we need to trim down: - Khepri: increased ability cooldown (7 → 8); decreased ability Defense Points (50 → 40); decreased ability damage bonus (15% → 10%) - Spear: increased shot interval (0.6 → 1.1) - Seraph: reduced Forcefield threshold (phase 1: 35,000 → 30,000; phase 2: 55,000 → 45,000) - Puncher: increased aimcone (0.03 → 0.045) - Angler: decreased ability damage (45%); decreased shield durability (10%) - Jaw, Claw, Talon: increased full reload time (5 → 6) - Scatter, Havoc, Devastator: decreased ammo (9 → 8); increased reload interval (1.5 → 2) - Behemoth: decreased speed (45 → 40); reduced durability (10%) - Avalanche: decreased AoE (19 → 12) - Mars: reduced turret damage (30%); increased ability cooldown (15 → 17); reduced Aegis durability (20%); reduced Aegis regeneration rate (20%) - Fainter: increased reload interval (1 → 2)
While most of the items on this list are obvious targets since we decided to level the field, Behemoth and Avalanche are kinda sitting on the fence. We want to leave the new pilot skills as they are, but Explosives Expert makes the Avalanche build too strong and allows it to completely ignore shields. Hence the nerf.

I’m really curious about this one. Yeah Cerberus is squishy, but since I like tinkering I’m intrigued with trying out a Cerberus build either using the Medea pilot and geared with Hornet/Wasp or really gamble with Bane/Venom.

So looking at the proposed changes, the ridiculousness of Spears delivering 400% damage and Angler never being out of it’s ability long enough to do it much damage don’t seem to be an issue then!

The last test server they talked about a 10% damage nerf and less damage on the third hit alongside the 1.1 second shot interval. Don't know what happened since but maybe players with 12+ of them in their hangars complained enough for them to rethink? 10% nerf to angler shield is a joke but at least they won't do as much damage as a Minos with cinders during the ability anymore. Would have liked to see a nerf to cooldown as well but oh well it's better than nothing
