Oof. I don't love that not one bit. Lots of times I opted for the non-special edition weapons because I just didn't like the look of the special ones (hammer and smuta come to mind).

Over the years, there have been a lot of posts about exchanging Special Edition weapons for standard versions due to aesthetic reasons. PIX had acquiesced if someone had requested them through customer support. There’s going to be a lot of regret and disappointment. |

I had a real respect for the choice NOT to give skinned weapons a performance advantage. An old chestnut for me. I get that people like the extra durability in the special bots, and that's ok, but damage output is something they really should have left alone.
Some of the changes lately look like they were made by DALL-E.

I opened several tickets to change special edition weapons to standard because I cannot stand asymmetry.
On the other hand, I still have some symmetrical special edition weapons, e.g. 2 Sinister Pulsars, 4 Freedom Igniters, that will get a boost. That's pretty exciting.

Great...as someone who rarely upgraded SE weapons, since I usually had a regular partially upgraded first...nice to have wasted all that Ag 🙄

I have a BUNCH of SE weapons but I think I’ve only upgraded one…Sheriff Magnetar, because regular Magnetars were so slow in coming. I doubt I’ll ever get around to upgrading any more since it’s been weeks since I’ve played.

 Does it really matter? I mean, some matches my damage enhanced mk3 weapons barely scratch opponents, and others wipe the floor, + 99% of these special edition models are ugly. I can’t look ugly while I’m killing! |

EVEN TITAN WEAPONS ARE AFFECTED!!! Those cost PT!!! I can’t upgrade the SE if I have already maxed out a normal version!!!!

As a casual player who spends a little bit here and there (which I don’t mind) I they truly seem to be doing everything that they can to chase me off…. This is in across-the- board, backhanded (kick in the stones… this is not one weapon, this is not a class of weapons like shotguns, this is ALL weapons… at least with the Golden Shower Yellow pyramids, it was essentially an “opt in.” Why should I have spent countless hours grinding in order to upgrade a Wasp, when the limited edition will CERTAINLY drop within five or six months.?
Additionally, many of those special edition weapons Hoover as far as aesthetics are concerned. I am personally convinced that the entire “Sinister” Group is an abomination… some of the weapons don’t even match possible robot color schemes/skins.
My old school Quad Wasp Typhon looks infinitely better without the “Stellars.” Fight me…
