Is everyone seeing this same 2-Star, Rank 4 deal for $4.99 or is anyone seeing a different offer? I'd prefer a 3-Star deal but I'll take this I guess. I'm not really in a hurry to level up a GC, but given the HP abd speed it seems like I might as well start collecting bps.

Yeah, I received the same offer. Surprising since the GC is so new.
Edit:
Well, I’m considering the GC now as well. I appreciate that Plarium’s made this a skill bot. It’s not OP, doesn’t become meta and will take some skill to use effectively in matches.
I probably won’t upgrade and use it immediately, but I’d like to encourage Plarium to continue to release relatively balanced content.

Mine is R3 for $20. Nah... I'll pass. Hmm, seems like it's a good mech to use with DL16 - or anything I guess - but with DL16, you really don't give your target anywhere to hide. Use the ability to chase it out of deep cover and then use splash damage to weaken and kill it before it can get a bead on you. IDK... I just picked up Redox not that long ago so I'm in no rush for new mechs.

I really like that it isn't OP as well. A 32EN mech could be a real terror, I appreciate that they balanced it out. I wouldn't pay $20 for a 3-Star though, so this deal seems like it'll work for me.

Bought it and having loads of fun with it. Aiming the pod has a bit of a learning curve. Shooting through walls kinda throws a wrench in the red pilots game plan. 😉

How far can the pod go? I've had people throw it at me and it seemed to reach across the map.

How far can the pod go? I've had people throw it at me and it seemed to reach across the map. The ability's range surprised me. It does go pretty far, sticks to something then shoots out that beam. I think it's good for obstructing doorways or tight areas temporarily. I will be experimenting with it. Just looked at Gateçrasher and pod range is 300m! 😮 By comparison Railgun16s max range is 185m.

One neat tactic I want to try is to shoot a pod at a teammate with a surge or Killy and watch them barrel into reds.
That would be satisfying.

But, I keep coming back to having to upgrade it as fast as possible so that it's not too underpowered for my level of play. I really wish MM was based on SP cause then I can field my lower leveled mechs and gear to get some variety.

I really wish MM was based on SP cause then I can field my lower leveled mechs and gear to get some variety. I get what you're saying but I'm glad MM is not based on SP. The basic tanking counter is to have 2-3 maxed mechs and a couple completely unleveled ones, then annihilate your opponent with the maxed gear. I already see a while set of people configuring their hangar this way, although I don't think lowering the sp helps them (I hope it doesn't). The newer mechs seem to be holding their own for CPC at levels 4 and sometimes even 3. I am not dealing with my 2.4 level GC yet, but I am getting a lot of mileage out of my Orion and Redeemer at R4. The fact that we keep getting bps for already maxed gear is becoming a bigger and bigger problem though as more gear rolls out.

Quick question about the Gatecrasher. You can put the pod on a friendly and let them carry the bomb into a crowd of reds. But, can you latch the pod onto a red?
Also, when you latch onto a mech, does the beam still come out or is it just a bomb?

Also, when you latch onto a mech, does the beam still come out or is it just a bomb? I believe the pod does latch onto reds. Thereâs a brief delay. The beam only comes out from objects like walls, not from mechs. Thatâd be cool though. For reference: Edit: There were players who used gatechrashers effectively on yesterdayâs tourney map. Theyâd use the pod to flush me out a hiding spot and then peg me with EM rifles. 「illegitimate child」sâ¦â¦..
