So the company that can't stop hackers using PCs on its current game is going to ask you to pay for the experience of even more PC players. Hmmmmmm. Ummmm...what exactly are you talking about? I am a LEGAL PC user with LEGAL accounts on Steam and My.Com. There is no "hacking" involved. Just go to Steam or this location for My.com: warrobots.zendesk.com/hc/en-usNow if you are talking about people USING PC comps to hack into the game, that's a different story.

I also don't see where he inferred any particular individual was hacking let along you.

Not all PC users are cheating but definitely have an advantage for a "mobile" game having a mouse pointer, keyboard shortcuts and large monitors to play.

I have never played on a mobile or tab due to an accident I had in 2015, I did try it once or twice just not possible. Now running emulators with files open to tamper with things is how most hacks happen regardless of platform. Frontiers will be using "Unreal Engine" which the owners of that company do not want their files tampered with. I would say it is a safer choice than War Robots due to the fact Pixonic does not implement anti-cheat software.
Do PC players have an advantage? I would say we did before Pixonic removed the reload button & allowed you to shoot weapons by number, all that has been removed. So I would say it's fairly equal considering the dexterity of mobile/tablet players and the fact TVs are so advanced now days you can mirror your mobile/tablet to that OR pair a Bluetooth keyboard/pad & mouse to that as well.

If they don't implement anti-cheat in Unreal, then Unreal is just as hackable as anything else--easier than anything else, actually, because the syntax of legal commands is well-documented and easy to replicate. Fornite's on unreal engine and you can go download all kinds of aimbots and hacks for it. Heck, the next Sims game in development on Unreal 5 just got hacked and leaked, and in part that was possible because it was being developed on the same engine Frontiers is on, so the hackers had reams of documentation on how to get the engine to spit out every game element once they used their replicated anti-cheat token. Anyhow I wasn't implying that all PC players are cheaters or have an advantage (though in Frontiers I expect they will over console players, just like Fortnite--although it remains to be seen if console versions have aim assist, but I stopped trying to play on the Steam deck until I can sort out the keyboard issue). Just that PC is the platform of choice for hackers and has per capita more of them than the other platforms, and that's the one where the new game is going to be set.

Anyone can buy a PC that will play War Robots quite easily. And many PCs cost even less than top-of-the-line cell phones. No excuse to be "thumb tied" really.

My input had to do with this section of your reply, " I am a LEGAL PC user with LEGAL accounts on Steam and My.Com. There is no "hacking" involved." which seems to indicate you're taking offense on behalf of all PC users. He didn't imply hacking being performed by any quantity of PC users, however, did indicate that hacking is coming from PC players.

While I agree it's probably easier to hack via a PC, I don't think it's the only source of hacking. Maybe not even the main source, considering the number of "get free gold" and other hacks available for cell phones. Google is packed with hacking offers for all devices. It's kind of odd that Pixonic doesn't do much about it. Maybe they can, I dunno.

Saw this game a while ago on steam for ~14$ or so. I'm considering getting it, but of course concerned that will turn into another p2w mess. My understanding is this game will be for PC and consoles.
Still, don't see War Robots going anywhere. To many people playing, mobile gaming these days is bigger than PC and consoles combined, I think.
Btw, how is this forum going to treat War Robots Frontiers? Is it still strictly War Robots or for Frontiers too?

They are similar enough that keeping them both in one forum would make it very confusing.

Ok, so played this new game for about an hour or so and while graphics is great, the game seems a little confused. For example, you can get chassis for bulwark, torso for bulgasari and shoulders for tyr and etc. And then you can chose any special abilities, such as stealth, missiles, energy shield. Pilots are there too. So just mish-mash of War Robots concepts thrown together, including recycling some War Robots assets such as pilot pictures. The interface could use some cleanup too.
Of course the game is still in early dev, but imo Pixonic doesn't understand the secret sauce behind its War Robots success: that each robot had its distinct ability. I think it was this system of abilities and counters that created this extra tactical depth and made the game so much fun in the beginning. Of course, with the advent of super-weapons and abilities that had no counters (the whole p2w thing) Pixonic spilled a lot of that secret sauce, but War Robots still has some of it.
War Robots Frontiers just feels like another arcade shooter. And of course it has in-game currency, so it's not hard to predict where it will go from here. And wait times are around 1.5 mins because there are no human players.
I suppose I shelled out 15 bucks so I can relive my fun days of playing fury with thunders... sort of.

Brother frontiers is more akin to Walking War Robots than the current War Robots, take that $15 U.S.D. as a better investment than the cost it takes to buy the current meta in War Robots.

Oh man, words fail me. You know how sometimes you think to yourself playing War Robots "My luck, I got stuck again on idiot team that does nothing!"? Well, it could be worse, getting stuck on a BOT idiot team: And all this when I finally encounter first human player, I wanted to do really well and win this game. The human player ends up camping on a building entire game, does pretty impressive damage but the game is won through beacon captures, right? Well, his bot team picks up his beacon slack and gets close to a double number of kills of my entire bot team. 「fluffernutter」ing great! I guess Pixonic is teaching me an early lesson, give up hope. I'm below 50% win rate, playing ALL BOT GAMES!!!

Exactly, that's why I spent money on it even though I vowed to never give Pixo money again. But in this early stage the game does remind me of Walking War Robots days and huge amount of fun I had with it back then. Of course we all know that this bliss won't last, but I'd say I will get my 15$ worth. I mean, being able to compete in thunder fury ...

Absolutely last word on this game- in case anybody is considering it.
Get this, the game is still in early access, crashes sometimes, it only has one map and wait times are a minute or more because there are hardly any human players there. And yet Pixonic already has those purchase packs ranging all the way from 15$ to 99$, with the top one already marked "41% off", down from supposed 170$.
Heck, I almost want to give credit here to Pixonic for having balls to pretend like they'd seriously charge players 170$ for an unfinished game. But it's as been said on this forum many times, Pixonic is gonna pixonic.
