Ok, I'm being snarky with that title. Those who read a few of my posts know that I NEVER recommend spending indiscriminately. But... It looks like Pix is setting up the Whale-A-Thon 2022/2023. How? On 10/27, I watched a vid of Tony (below) using a crap-ton of event tokens (Bronze/Ag/Au) and he didn't get much. There's nothing in Bronze, the Ag coins had meager payout and the Au tokens had loads of Northlight sharts and when you did get weapon sharts they were only 500 at a time. The new bots/weapons kick too much butt AND they will make you pay dearly to get them. Ok that's nothing new. But... If you are like me you'll wait for these weapons/bots to trickle/down to Ag/Bronze levels where you might be able to slowly afford them But... By the time you can afford them and MAYBE level a few they've ALREADY introduced the next +15% cool thing in the gold chest AND you won't be able to afford those either. So... It's no longer a self-driven hamster wheel, it's a motorized one that you had better run on or you'll get flung off. Unless you spend a lot, early, you'll always be behind the uber whales by a lot. The Ag and Au resources (not tokens) are quite cheap nowadays and you're going to need a lot of them if you are going to be levelling new stuff every 40 days or so. No. Just No. And more good news (yeah!  ) when you do level your new virtual toy to 2.12 the hackers will be running their stuff at approximately level 4.2. For free. Woohoo! The fat lady is warming-up on board the Titanic. Pix has GOT to fix their HACKING PROBLEM or you definitely SHOULDN'T SPEND A DIME. |

there is one positive, if you can call it a positive from all this. Just means folks that DONT spend will be lowered in leagues due to inability to hang with said whales. Now if/when Pix implements the "can only drop two or whatever leagues" may be a blessing to drop leagues. Yet, even there they have mk3 gear and new toys, but they dont have the piloting skills that those have that were in the big leagues.
small victory of sorts if you look at it in a certain perspective. Only thing that sucks is, the journey there as you drop leagues. Win percentage goes to hell, along with everything else. But at least you will put some distance from yourself and the WHALE whales.

Umm I agree with Munk on the part about piloting skills of guys in lower leagues, good assessment, however, I'm now in low master 2.. well problem is matchmaking is giving me 7000, 8000, 10k even 12k cup guys.. a lot of my games today's been with guys like this and 4 champs out of 6 on the red side (pretty much no different than being in champion) , I guess need to drop to low master 3 .. or even expert I suppose. I don't mean to whine, just getting tired of the horse「dookie」 MM and everything else I mentioned lately been looking at other games, and reading their reviews... funny when you read ex war robots guys speak on how glad they were to leave this.

I've spent a bit this year for one reason or another. Mainly museum and to get my inventory into a happy place. But now I'm in a zone where i kinda have everything i want so. Yeah i think next year and from then on it will be a much tighter wallet.

I'm only spending on gold and platinum, and I'm almost done spending on platinum because I'm close to maxing out my Heimdall.
I just did my last promotion for Marie, putting the gold in for Engine Expert (or whatever it's called) to add even more speed to the Mender while its ability is active. After this, my Leo with Peregrine Rain is my only project.

I've only ever bought gold. Twice. One batch spent on pilots, the other taking my oldest weaps to mk3. I maxed my Kid with a long grind and I can see the look change on people's faces when they're trying to drop it. I still run most of the same hangar I had when I came here (Tyr has been replaced with Dem).
Most of my time has been spent in the master levels, but I've slipped back to expert since the lightning bugs arrived. I'm quite happy with this. Because of my 'static' hangar, I've always been swimming against a current. Naturally, my hangar becomes increasingly obsolete with each 'nextbigthing', so I have to get better, or smarter, or just more scared. The only significance of leagues is the level of your opposition. Things might get a little nicer for me for a while. If I have to fight Seraphs, I'll take the ones with the pricetags still on 'em

I suspect that when there are less players in Champion League, they will revise everything again. Just have to ride the Pixonic wave if you wanna play this game.  |

Agree with Munkeeee and donetotally (clever name.) Since I stopped spending and ditched the Meta chase (no Khepri, Rev, Seraph, Mars, Radiation, newer Titans etc. etc.) I've fallen like a stone (38% Win) from Low Champions to Low Master 2. The incomprehensible matchmaking still pits me regularly against S Clans and the Seraph/ Khepri death hangers. Seem to have kind of leveled out here but likely my natural state will land me in M3. I guess as the Meta continues its march forward the older and older bots will maybe land me in Expert. By that time I may end up bored with this crap PIX keeps feeding and just move on. Lets see. Still having fun in my own way, playing less and less and 1000% OK with living in the Low Masters world. |

I ended up in M2 thanks to operations missions, but I'm cool with it. Same experience of running into superlevels, but sometimes it goes the other way around. Whatever, I'm having fun and most of my bot projects are near completion (for now).
