I mentioned this in another thread - almost every battle I've played in recently has been imbalanced due to one or two players either intentionally doing badly (usually having a hangar of Cossacks or just not doing anything) to drop their league ranking, so they can be in a league that they are way OP for, or a player or two who has already done that, and is now massively OP for their league.
As one of many examples, I've had the misfortune of playing with this guy a few times lately (it doesn't matter whether he's on your team or the other, the match is no fun):
Note that he's in Diamond II. Most players in that league *might* have one Mk2 bot, maybe 2, but usually none. His hangar is pretty much maxed out. And this is what battles end up going like:
He has almost 6 times as many wins as me, but is in a lower league. The only way that happens is by him intentionally losing to drag his league down.
And then when he's ready to win again, this is what matches end up like:
It was a beacon rush on the carrier, and it was over in less than 2.5 minutes - he just charged forward in his Mk3 Seraph, destroying everything in his path, until he had all the beacons. The other team could only spawn at their home spawn point, and he annihilated them as soon as they'd spawn. Yay, what a fun game for everyone.
I know Pixonics introduced a league change that keeps people from dropping way down in league, to try to stop that - but that only works if people allow themselves to get up to a high league. All they have to do is switch from winning to losing every 10-15 battles or so, and the change won't stop them from remaining in a league they're way OP for (and either dominating battles, or dragging their team down when they want to lose).
Almost every battle seems to have one player doing this.
I've been trying to come up with ways Pixonics could stop this.
1. Some players do this to increase their clan ranking - by leaving the clan while they lose, and rejoining while they win. A simple fix for this would be to set a requirement such that if a player leaves a clan, they can't rejoin that clan when their trophy count is lower than what it was when they left. If you left at 4,000, and intentionally lose until it's 3,000, sorry, you can't rejoin until you get it back up to 4,000.
2. Implement a "hall of shame" that players who do this get put in. When players are reported for doing this, and there is ample proof (hopefully Pixonics keeps some data from matches to verify screenshots that we can email them), they can be quick to ban players, and after the ban is up, stick some "badge of shame" on them that will show up for a year, to let everyone else know that they were cheating. And of course put them in an appropriate league, and block them from going any lower.
3. Change the league system so that your league only depends on number of victories - so there is no way to intentionally lower your league by losing.
4. Create a "hangar power" system, where each bot and weapon in your hangar counts for a certain number of points. For example, for a Tier I robot, each level could count as 1 point. For tier 2, multiply that by 1.25, and 1.5 for Tier 3, and 1.75 for Tier 4 (so a Mk3 legendary bot, effectively level 25, would count for 42.75 hangar points. And do something similar for weapons, and titans. Then set a hangar power allowable range for each league. I've seen a person in a Silver league with maxed out (Mk 3) bots and weapons - that would no longer be possible. The main flaw in this is that a person could still have one or two OP bots, which might be able to dominate, without needing a full hangar.
Thoughts?
