Hi all. Not a new member necessarily, just a long time lurker. I'm feeling a little unhappy with my hangar. I've had fun with it and decent success, but I feel it needs some updating. I most enjoy my Galahad, somewhat my Lancelot, and situationally, Patton is super fun. I've loved my little Cossack, but he seems to be getting less & less efficient (tho, I did just take out a Gareth by going all Mexican jumping bean all over his ?bum-bum? - he couldn't turn fast enough to keep up with me and I took him out before he took 1/3 of my health ). My least favorite is my Griffin. He's just so squishy. I take 1/4(-ish) of health with one salvo, but the enemy then continues to pound him and take him out before he reloads. That or he take so long to get with in range, that he's down to no health - if not outright dead - by the time I get to fire off the first round. Can a different setup help him? Who would you replace and with which option? What about the ones you'd keep - how are their setups? I've tried to read here and load my bots based on advice I've read on this forum. I tend to to get more up close and personal in my fighting style, but that's more out of necessity (of current builds) than anything else. I'm open to long range builds as well. I generally start each fight with my Cossack to cap beacons, and then go into offensive mode with Galahad, Lancelot, Patton, and Griffin, in that order. (Edited for typos)

I'd ditch the patton for a orkan/aphid griff for starters. Quad aphids are out of date now, it just doesn't do enough to justify it's spot in a hangar.
The Cossack has to go for the same reason.

Thanks, both of you. I do like starting with a beacon capper, tho I know it hurts my overall damage points. I can see Galahad taking that spot, and understand your point about capping and holding beacons. I seem to keep getting on teams with players that think you only have to worry about beacons once, and then ignore them after that - even to the point where they will chase someone off of a beacon, but then wander off and not go (re)capture it, or will stand just out of range of capping a beacon, firing away, and completely ignore the beacon next to them.
I'll look into these options and see what I can do to beef up my hangar. I appreciate both of your inputs.

Yes, on iOS. Not happening as much in Diamond 3, but did happen pretty frequently in Gold 1.

I did just take out a Gareth by going all Mexican jumping bean all over his ?bum-bum? - he couldn't turn fast enough to keep up with me and I took him out before he took 1/3 of my health ) I'm pretty sure that Gary kept his shield up and wasn't equipped with plasma.. Otherwise it would have been a different experience.. I can't help it but to defend the Gary whenever possible for I think he's the most adorable bot in the game Though I had to surrender to the fact eventually that at higher leagues he's not damage effective anymore.. No light bot is anyway.. Though if someone is only after wins and doesn't care for the damage and kills then light bots can do a very role in deciding games even at highest levels.. As to your Griff problem, I think you're having a range problem since at your level Tridents and Zeus are everywhere.. And that extra 100 meters advantage is a hurdle to come over.. One has to excel at taking covers and sneaking in order make an RDB work against such competition.. Not an easy job. And needs a bit of luck.. Griffs are best utilized at close range.. Eventually you will have to replace it Zeus or trident carnage/fury.. I'll keep him over a mid range Natasha though.. Two Tridents or two Zeus on a slow and exposed bot aren't that effective either..

Moving your hangar forward: 1) replace Gareth with Leo (placeholder for better bot) - weapons depending on you Au/Ag *Mag or Pinata / Thunder *Pin/Trident 2) replace Patton - again depending on Au/Ag *Stuka/Griff - you have 3 parts from Cossack/Patton *Aphid/Orkan Rhino - aquired taste, I swapped mine for 2nd Griffin *2nd Galahad - Right hand smack
Concerned when you said your (least favorite) was Griffin. Why I put up Rhino as alternative. If it just because it dies quickest, might look at some videos. Especially if you are using an RDB, fire and cover. Do not go hunting Furies unless you can get in range safely, or you will be destroyed. *Griffins - use the jump to 'get out' after firing with rdb. With a db and great potential to destroy target I will jump in to ambush target!

Keep the Galahad, Lancelot and Patton if you like them. Upgrade them to the next level if you like.
Consider a Gareth. Never mind what others say about its viability in higher tiers. All it takes is one player to make it good and everyone will follow. I personally think the Gareth is a powerful bot and if played well near impossible to kill. You like the Cossack, you might like a Gareth too.
Try long range weapons like Trebuchets, Nashorns and Gekkos. Pick any bot you think you can afford to do the job. I understand that a Patton with Gekkos is a real nuisance and you could give that a try if you like.
Edit: In my four bot hangar my favorite bots get leveled up faster than other bots. So I've got 2 bots at level 10/9, one bot at level 9 and one at level 7. The level 7 bot is experimental and I'm always changing it. Once I get the 5th slot then that will become the experimental bot slot. I do not buy into the level all bots/weapons equally argument. But that's just me.

I fully concede that my dislike of my Griffon is most likely due to improper tactics. I do like him more with his new build, though. I've read enough here on the boards to know that he's not as popular as he is for no good reason. Here is my updated hangar. Not 100% sold on it - mostly because I think I do miss starting with a quick, light beacon capper - but I am enjoying it so far. I may look into a Gareth as an alternative and see how it goes. Thanks again everyone for your input!
