I miss Yamantau terribly, I know not all do. I am terribly sad that I will never play on it again. Instead we will be stuck with this 「illegitimate child」ized, teleporter filled, ramps everywhere abomination. Some of my best Walking War Robots and 6 Pack memories are on that map. sadness

teleporters? I thought it was just ramps. bugger I can thank Yamantau for my Idiot Fendeer loadout. Treb/MolotT. Pure anti sniper and it's never going to change now.

I don’t get why u hate it, and didn’t realize how much I’ve missed it until playing it a bunch. It’s great, there are only a couple extra ramps that I found really helpful, and I like the teleporters, especially because this map will be a mr/lr nightmare and these ports will give us more tactical options for travel and beacon thievery. I can’t wait for it to be released in its full glory!

The teleports do ruin it - I made that clear in the survey. But the ramps are ok.

Agreed. The teleports just make it play like every other map (besides Springfield). Without those, a DOM match is a different beast as is BR. Home beacon is much more defendable without the teleporters which plays very different that most other maps. It may lead to some frustration like on Springfield where you can be too far away, but it causes a different playstyle which favors different bots and builds. Throw that teleporter in there and all the same bots can dominate the game. I’ll be giving that feedback in the test server as well as the survey.

I can’t wait for it to be released in its full glory! I hated when they moved the isolated A beacon from it's extended platform to tuck up near the broken bridge. So no surprise that I dislike all these additional changes. IMO, they should save teleporters for new maps, let us have our history, not that I'm a fan of them but as Abyss came with them from day one, I can live with them there. I don't want nor need changes to enjoy games over long, long periods of time. I'm in the minority here in the world of online gaming but that's the way it is. So be it!

I can respect the history side - nostalgia is important in many walks of life. It can ground you in why we are where we are now.
I really just wish pix wouldn’t make a long map and then put in features that allow ot to play like a short map. That defeats the purpose. Springfield and canyon are a PITA for my primary hanger…and that is the point. To allow people to leverage matchups. That is really one of the true shining points of the cursed game - that a matchup can still beat a meta.
You’d have a fighting chance as a camper without the teleporters, and like it or not, campers are a part of the game some people love. Give them a map where they can show their capability. The motherships already took most of that away. And from an economic perspective, it may even benefit Pix to add in another true long map - if there are enough, maybe more people would start making map specific hangers. Upgrades have certainly become cheaper, and I think it could really happen. Keep those stupid teleporters, and the lumbering tanks could come and ruin the campers fun.
boy am I feeling soap-boxey today. Gotta get off here before I end up with enough content for a War Robots novel.

I gotta admit, while I did not hate them at first, the more I think about their impact on the map, the less I like the teleporters. The map didn’t need them, and as was pointed out earlier, they detract from its uniqueness and make it yet another brawling map. The thing is, the original Yamatau was still great for brawlers. The center beacon was legendary for the bodies that would pile on it, and it usually decided battles, thus making brawlers important. Now it will just be a Scorpion and Revenant haven (take the teleporter to get within 350 meters, then press the magic button to teleport the rest of the way). The additional ramps are fine, as in my opinion, as they will make defending the center beacon more difficult, thus making battles more interesting. But man, those teleporters… not much of a defense there.

As someone who fondly remembers watching my dad hold the center platform beacon in his fujin I'm sorely disappointed in the mere thought of more ramps and especially the damnable teleporters Although I technically can't say anything because for my health I've stopped playing
