As we all can see, the new system for acquisition and function of boosters has changed to favor the $ microtransaction. I will say that I love that boosters just activate and I don't have to think about them at all, but I won’t be purchasing any boosters. While it is more complicated a situation with squad vs squad, speaking as a solo player I have done some tests (pre 8.3) and noticed that my scores are a lot better when I don’t use boosters. I don’t care to speculate why that is, but those results have been so consistent that it doesn’t make a difference to me if they are running or not. There’s a handful of things I just ignore and its great to add another to the list!

I have ALWAYS had more balanced and FUN matches when I play without boosters, regardless of what I’m running. I usually saved my best boosters for my Rog squad sessions, mainly for the speed and health.

I will admit, the fact they are good for one match is nice, you dont have to worry about the 30min or hr of activation, then have to pause to refill them.
Then again, I hardly ever used them so it is what it is.

I actually prefer that they run automatically now and per game - I tended to not bother running them most of the time before if I was just sat down for a couple games and didn`t want to feel tied into 30 mins of play. I also like all the extra Ag I`m getting at the moment - because I didn`t have any Ag boosters at all before.

When I started playing this morning I was under the old system.
Apparently I liked it. It got me into that back to back to back play style.
Dislike using fast and furious to describe it. Like that though.
Took a break. Watched ads, collected stuff, posted some on here,
then went back to play.
I didn’t have the same urgency. Played a couple then stopped.
No urgency to get the games in.
I always run boosters. Am I a booster addict? Are they a drug?
Was I getting my fix?

The Speed Booster is the only must have for me. I was paying 20Au for 30min of play but I was getting at least 6 matches. Now I’ll probably use 3 Boosters for 3 matches instead of getting more bang for the buck. I’m losing the equivalent of 3 Boosters in the same half hour. I’m definitely not restocking when they run out.
I actually liked playing for 60min here, 30min there because I always made the most of my Boosters. It’s going to take longer to complete tasks this way since I won’t have to rush into a new match as my Boosters were running out.

I like the option to chose. No option favours Pix and mucks up my gaming experience somewhat. No choice means the feature will add to the power creep and inflation.
It is clear boosters were not making enough money. What concerns me somewhat is what happens if this booster feature revamp still wont make money after this change. The issue is at some point they could become a must have for many at a cost. Consider if the attack booster is bumped up to 50% or the speed booster to 40% (extremes but using it as an example).
As to the gaming experience, scores and alike, those aspects can be easily adjusted as well.

And we’re sitting here in Stockholm, saying “well that’s fewer buttons to push!” Or “gee, they never made a difference anyway”… Bullarkey…. “how can you have any pudding if you don’t eat your meat?” No…. Hard. Azz. No
And as it seems, people disagree on which ones make a real difference…. I’ll tell ya what makes a difference: one match vs 3-5…. I mean I’m not that bright, but that seems to be a measurable reduction. But I could be wrong.
In addition, for a game that is built on SOOO many options, taking one to the player base and ruining the flexibility of that system, that doesn’t need fixing, is ridiculous. Like, does Dead City NEED a halo around it?? Did ANYONE ask for this nonfunctional eye candy? Here, Reddit, Discord?? Maybe so, but I probably missed those threads. But I honestly can’t remember a thread about that…. Hmmm
And yes, possible limited use, but I earned them, that should be my choice. I’ve only noticed bigger differences w “Ag” “Cool down” and “Speed” boosters… some are hard to get, like Cool Down and Honor… there’s plenty of times I don’t wanna run them, only gonna play 1-2 games and move on; but plenty of other times, (prime times) when I burn em all. My boosters, my. choice. If I had paid ANY money for ANY of them, I’d be even more prissy.
I’d be VERY interested to see PROOF that the make no difference to your positive damage…

First of all, I hate a lot of what Pix does, and yes this booster move is really messed up for a lot of reasons some of which you mention, but my post isn’t to share that type of opinion. It is merely to point out that personally having never liked the booster situation to begin with, I am glad I don’t have to think about it anymore. I never buy boosters and never really paid attention to what free ones I earned, I’d just activate whatever I had, mainly in squad. The other point is that it happened many many times that I’d get crazy high scores when not using boosters, then lower scores when boosted. It was odd enough to actually make me suspicious of the boosters. Anyways, I don’t record or take screenshots so I don’t have any proof, so you’ll have to take my word, as I never bother writing or saying something unless I experience it or know it to be true. So for example I’d have boosts running and get multiple matches with around 4mil, then boosters run out and I run several matches where I break 8mil. I found that very odd and it made me feel running a lot of the performance boosters was seemingly pointless. So I posted this thread, in a way, to give people confidence that they don’t really need boosters to kick butt! |

Did ANYONE ask for this nonfunctional eye candy? </snip> I got what felt like a salty reply from Adrian once when I commented a joke-ish thing about Pixonic thinking players would rather delay Yamantau further so they could at a bunch of moss to dead city ("because players love moss") and he replied to tell me that Yamantau would take a really long time so the devs were doing something nice for us that they could do quickly instead of putting it off. And I was thinking... I understand that that Yamantau revamp would be harder than the Dead City revamp. But Yamantau would make the game more fun and exciting, while more moss in dead city doesn't. Arguing that Dead City was a better use of their time because it was easier is like saying, "I went to the bar instead of to work because it's going to take two weeks for work to pay off but I can be drunk right now." Cool, but two weeks from now, when we have moss we don't care about and no Yamantau... Maybe this is too facile, but I've taken 4 or 5 Pixonic surveys over the years, and not a single one has asked why I play the game. I wish they'd ask, because I sincerely don't think they have any idea. Because it ain't moss. |

They were OP as 「fluffernutter」. Only the plasma griffin stood a chance. The player base ended up revolting and Pix responded with a survey in relation to the matter. As for Yama, it is way overdue to bring it back. If they are concerned with it turning out to be a sniper fest than put in some planks like in TDM. Rip off the top beams on the bridge so titans can commute. That was an actual tactical map. How to secure and hold the central beacon. |

I was like, this is crazy, stupid P2W nonsense. But I kept thinking about the game and how good the robots felt. Tried all the other ones and got into one that turned out to have crap endgame matchmaking... even worse than War Robots if you can imagine. So I came back middle of the Fafnir meta. |

Tried all the other ones and got into one that turned out to have crap endgame matchmaking... even worse than War Robots if you can imagine. So I came back middle of the Fafnir meta. Cant win. This will always be P2W. Saw a tanker a few days ago with league appropriate hanger in Gold (as in running L6 gareths and stuff). 60,000 plus wins. He obviously found a game within the game and enjoying it. Thats the way i see the merits of this game. Wont chase the meta gain. |

Now it's ho-hum, I guess I'll play a game.

The problem for me is that I will get used to the booster enhancements. But soon they will be depleted, which will feel like a big nerf to my entire hangar. Well... I suppose that's the Pixonic plan anyway, isn't it. Buy more boosters! Nope.

But it is true, I've thought dozens of times, "Ya know, Dead City could use a facelift." and BAM! It happens! Get outta my head Pix, OUT! Pix should just say, "Yam is never coming back." What has it been, 2 years? More? I still contend that Yam could help them sell range builds. Even then, range is semi-meh. Brawling weapons still rule. Who needs range when many bots just teleport into the thick of things? |

I do Wim Hof method for health, but man, the breathing is super energizing and psychedelic, thats all. Why is this a tough thread, is the new system just really a big downer for you? |

ѻﻭɼﻉ my humor fell a little flat also.
That 30 min clock did two things for me.
One: Got me into that back to back play style I like.
Two: Helped me keep count of how many ads I had.
I like new stuff. Don't mess with the rest. I'm set in my ways and even though I worked in IT and used the phrase 'Change is good.' hundreds of times.
I really don't like it.
Got a new system in place today. Use a die to keep track of ads, up it one for each battle.
When I hit 4. I take my break. Breath, relax and redeem. Check in here.
Then go again. I'll get used to it.

I’m kinda torn on the new boosters, as the idea for the new system is amazing and should have been that way from day one, but Pixonic just had to horribly twist it into a money grab, like normal. I almost never run boosters, so I will just let my LARGE stockpile run out, and that will be that. I will say though, it will be nice on the Friday Time Drops that players will no longer be like “Okay guys I’m done, good night- oh wait I have 10 minutes on my booster, I can do another actually”. No longer are people slaves to the clock, at the very least!
