Yeah, I’m starting to see some of that now, but usually not to that extent. Seeing it in tourney, seeing it in matches. Yesterday’s tourney had players with 3-4 bot hangers light on meta weapons, but well armed with mortar rockets, long arms. Not uncommon to see SP ~1500-1900.
I wonder if players learn how SP is determined and are starting fresh accounts or keeping their hangers low. 3-4 bots, etc. I could have gone that way, to be honest. I’m not going to keep up with the joneses to stay super competitive and I notice the higher my SP gets the less effective my fave Jav8 Shadow becomes.
I wonder if Plarium will be tempted to change some things as people learn to game the system.

This has been an issue before GR. Tournament isn't a tournament and playoff isn't a playoff. It's been widely noted on discord to them there should be cutoffs in SP/Div etc but it's never been addressed by them currently.

Yeah some people are doing that. They prey on the newbies reducing their hangar power radically. I think you need to report that with details in the support button area, not only with report cheater. Plarium needs to improve their way to detect this conduct. That also represents no challenge and reduces the fun because really limits your options... but anyway

I don't think this is actually cheating/so much the players fault here.
This is just a stupid concept of tournament they have put together that makes zero sense.
For the number of games they have played, and they are likely more focused on tournament over normal matches so they aren't moving up in Div. The 3 little accounts I did to get the the cyro javs are in the same results area outside of me doing little tournament and getting to Div1 as fast as I could. IDs below if you wanted to compare. 37913228 | 37913680 | 38542917
At those low levels 99% of mechs are bots so with a shotgun KS I'm sure they are just rolling through matches getting high kills/points ~4-500 a match thus getting to 4k doesn't take much.

I don't think they're cheating. They're bending the rules. That's why I think is a support thing, and "report cheater" is not the way to go. Definitely having one mech with no weapons does not make sense otherwise, unless you want to trick the matchmaking. I do agree that the division totally depends on playing tournament vs other matches, but I don't think that's taking into account for matchmaking. The problem for me with that strategy, is that they literally farm bots AND new players; and is one of the reasons they leave the game, because facing shotguns when you just acquired your first bots is pretty unfair. And for me it's important as a player to increase the number of people playing the game, not to reduce it. Probably this might sound a little bit exaggerated considering the specific example, but I have seen players with a considerable number of battles doing the same, just picking one bot with a leveled weapon and increasing their points in tournament. In my experience they do a little bit better, but not really 500 points per battle.

In my experience they do a little bit better, but not really 500 points per battle. Understand what you're saying to a degree, but again at their level they are at you need 3 mechs to enter a tournament match, so why jug is there.. as for weapons could they put the auto cannons/rpg on that you start with sure.. don't think that tips any scale of SP to mean much of anything though. When I did my 3 referral accounts I didn't buy anything I didn't need. Ignored the Jug and every other bot I didnt need unless you got it for free like spider bot. No weapons outside Jav6, Arc6,MR8, LA8 was invested outside of the starting weapons. Think I got rpg6 to hold me over until I got to the jav6s. Panther/KS/Lancer with lancer never getting in 99% of the time but needed it for tournament. Now if I would have bought any of the offers then that would have put me in a position to do even more than what I was doing. With those accounts I had an advantage of my main account and knowing what efforts I wasted on it to not worry about for those. My intent was get them to Div1 ASAP. So I agree there are examples out there of players who sandbag and try and play to their advantage using the system. In this instance though I could fully understand what they are doing and even so not at an idea of gaining an advantage over weaker people. It would be smarter to run tournament for a month or so and stock up on the winnings before making the investment to get into the bigger divs and higher sp if you dont want to spend money to catch up. It really comes down to this is the system they put in place, there were zero mechanics around it for it to make sense it just got thrown into the game. Similar to playoff.. doesnt make sense either for what it could be. Tournaments should have brackets of SP and payouts should be weighted as well but there are some game mechanics that make it interesting to lock someone into a level. I'd almost suggest to limit the crazy hanger changes you limit 1 mech change and 1-2 weapon change for a hanger per 24 hrs. Or they need a tournament hanger and a normal play hanger and once you start tournament its locked in, so plan accordingly based on maps. Then you could get into the payout changes for higher brackets that would entice those people to grow and play at those levels or not and take less payouts.

Yeah I think that we agreed in most of our points. The only small (and probably irrelevant) disagreement is if having a bot there with no weapons is because they are trying to take advantage of the matchmaking system or not. Still I think that contacting support with issues like this is relevant, that's the only mechanism that I think might (big might) help plarium to be aware of the issue and eventually fix it. Some of your recommendations would be great, by the way.
I know most people will say: Plarium is aware of everything and they just don't care. But actually during the last few months I have seen a big improvement in matchmaking, thus I think they're trying to make this better. Of course their priority is still making money, but I want to believe it's possible for them to have a profitable game that is interesting for players.
