Ok, so I went ahead and cloned my AT12 and slapped on my Ares. Ho. Lee. Mooooo.... This is freaking powerful!
My max range on the ATs are now around 60m or just under or over. Not sure exactly, but no complaints as most engagements with the Ares is around there or less. I was going to rush to max my Surge, which was the impetuous of me going the going the AT path, but now I'm thinking I'm just gonna collect Surge blueprints organically and not be in a rush anymore. I do have the Surge dash legendary implant which I now regret getting, and I'm thinking of taking that off and putting the AT magazine implant. The AT's magazine is tiny and I'm finding that I'm running out of juice a lot when I'm engaging multiple targets. But, the magazine implant I have only increase the magazine by 23% or something like that. Is it worth it?
I did spend 3k Acoins on the Surge dash implant, so it would be a shame to take it off. But, apparently there's a Legendary CQ pilot on it's way, so I suppose eventually I'll pair everything up and put them on the Surge.
Thoughts?

I don't have a Surge, but from the ones I have faced so far in Tournament (all of which seem to be running ArcTorrents) the dash implant would probably the bigger help, although an ability cooldown implant might be even better. I am mostly seeing Surges being used to take out Rocket Mortar mechs, so getting a couple dashes in stealth to the back of the enemy's area seems key. Also that means they don't last long, so magazine size should matter less.
That said, for other mechs the magazine implant would be best. As you switch the pilot to an Ares, that'll be an issue. But they just came out with the legendary close range pilot...

So I split them and have paired them with MR8'S, and it is enough to finish the job as long as I place my shot well. The mag increase may help, but with tanks it may still not be enough. I'm getting ready to run AT12/MR12 once I max my Ares.

The Epic one for my Shadow already has the implants leveled too high to take off cheaply.

I’ll probably run it on my disc launcher stalker. I’ve got some decent implants for that.

Hmm, don't have the app open but I think it's JR damage, Shadow ability and maybe JR reload or Shadow ability cool down.

How do you get a Legendary Guided Pilot? I was offered Stefania this week for 49.00. Boo! Too steep a cost for my pockets. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be surprised if she shows up in another event or two. I’m wondering if Guided weapons like disc launchers are really popular with the player base. It seems legendary pilots in the past fell in price faster than she is. I’m wondering if Plarium is holding out on offering Stephania at reduced costs hoping players will shell out more $$$ for the pilot to increase their weapons effectiveness. I know I’ll have her in my hanger at some point. I’m just willing to be patient. Which mech and build would you run the guided legendary pilot with?

Ares probably, and maybe move the Arcs over to Surge. Panther is another option for it.
