Came across this video from a couple weeks ago of using Lancer to get up into various secret spots. Covers four maps: Mesa Verde, Fortune Towers, Dockyard and High Bridge. I especially like the first set mountain climbing on Mesa Verde. There is also some regular gameplay at the end and the soundtrack selections aren't quite my taste but still it's a fun vid. Figured I'd share! EDIT: Seems like I can't embed a copy you can view in-site, but you can watch it on YouTube using the link. Sorry about that.

Thanks for the video! Finally got around to watching it and definitely will be trying a couple of these.
With the railgun or voltaic rpg, lancer really takes advantage of these types of spots that are inaccessible to other mechs. I've found it shines at a combo of area-control and potshot sniper like this. Some other good spots that are only lancer-accessible:
CPC: • Forbidden City/Imperial Temple buildings on left/right middle of map – sight lines to center control point and the side alleys, easy cover, and possibility of sneaking to steal an enemy control point undetected. • Site 313 – side roof looks out over central control point and because of the slope is easy to get behind cover
5v5: • Dockyard – Building close to middle with small package on top affords good sight lines and great cover • Tunnel of Fate – buildings on either side of the tunnel, a bit tricky to access but quite effective (either you get up to the middle and sprint from one of the corners above the ramp and jump last minute or you jump onto the angled wall by the spawn and from there sprint and jump)
2v2: Red Carpet – angled roof close to enemy spawn, good for getting kills right after enemies spawn
I'd also suggest checking out this video which shows a bit of how this style of lancer play works:

AnimalsCS - Nice! That is the vid that made me want to get the VRPG16. It's at only Rank 2 and my Lancer is stuck at R5, but someday! I think the fact that is has splash damage will make it work really well for Lance. Unfortunately there don't seem to be many weapons that work well in it besides Javs, which is why I stalled on upgrading it. Thanks for the tips too on Tunnel of Fate. I didn't know you could use the ramp to get up there. It takes me several tries usually to get on the roof. That is likely the big problem with many of the spots on the vid I posted. The Mesa Verde ones especially seem awesome for sniping but I imagine AI will blast anyone before they can get into position.
