Ok just got my lancelot, just lvl 6 with a miserable lvl 6 thunder and lvl 9,10 orkans.... Just want feedback on 1v1 ancile vs lance showdowns... mine still gets whooped due to low level, i do manage to get some nice kills with it but not overly impactful. When lance is leveled, 1v1 will he finnaly whip a ancilot all things being equal? I understand how to pilot, blah blah use thunder on shield and blow up with orkan lol

Yeah, if the ancilot is armed w tarans you should win. If you're armed with orkans it'll be quicker than if you have tarans, assuming you can close the 50m range gap. My mistake is accidentally hitting big red button too soon before the thunder can take down the ancile.

Ancilot can cause some havoc for a match, but a thunder/orkan Lancelot will destroy an Ancilot

Exactly what i was lookin for, confirmation if piloted rite it will do the job... ive been leading battles in dmg often, says im 60% win but doesnt feel like i win alot lol... i run tri car 9/9, db griff 8/9, aphid taran griff 8/8 and a gary for beacons... the 5slot was a grif with the orkans but now got the lance. Hoping the beast will help me when i need to break thru def and cap a beacon by force. The 3 griff lineup did great dmg but made capping beacons without getting slain first quite hard... hopefully i can make it to expert soon

I run a lance with ancile & orkans. Ive switched between tarans, orkans, thunder & zeus. I keep going back to the ancile & orkans. I tend to find myself in the middle of the suck pretty often surrounded. So having the extra shield to help against some of the guns & missiles is a life....prolonger? Plus with the Orkans I can at least still fire two shells a second if Ive blown my load I guess you could say. That helps also when in the suck.
Of course this isnt one on one directly in a single death match with another lance. This is based off a bunch of people attacking me in a game.

Not guna lie when im using my griffs a lance give me a half a chubb, just always feels good to blow one up.... i havent had much use but my strategy with lance but will most likely be to be as sneaky as possible then blow my load to grab a beacon... staying to defend once bots come back if still alive probably wont last too long without ancile

I still find myself in random matches where people seem to forget to keep the beacons blue. I'm often in my Lance on my way to defend beacons while the timid shoot from afar. Its normally the bot I bring in next too last if needed in a game at that. And yes it is always satisfying to take them down because they can be so tuff. I currently just have the one Lance. I doubt I'll buy another in my future. I'm fairly satisfied with what I have.... For now lol.

Done right, the Ancilot with Orkans or one Orkan and one Thunder can take out the Thunder/Taran Lancelot but will lose in most cases to the Thunder/Orkan. At least that has been my experience. I have two level 9 Ancilots with level 10 Orkans/Taran in I beat the Lancelot on most occasion. If I don't beat it, it's not left with much health. You really have to know when to use your rush with cover.
Bait the Thunder/Taran Lancelot, take cover and draw them in. In most cases, they will continue to fire the Thunder and Tarans. Once the Thunder subsides, rush into them and spin while in rush mode. Get your Orkan to the side or behind the Lancelot and unload, try not to fire the Taran at this time, just before the Orkan is spent, spin the opposite way and unload the Taran. The Lance will most likely be trying to counter your spin and not expect you to change direction. This gives you the ability to get the Taran to fire past the other side of the shield. If done correctly, you'll kill the Lance and still have at least half of your life left.
If you are not able to get cover or you get taken by surprise by a Lancelot, your Ancilot will die.

They play so differntly and I have been leveling both loadouts.
Thunder ork hs been showing up a lot as a counter to taran ancile. I know thelast thing I want to see when I round a corner in my acnilot is my thunder ork brother on red.

You really need to watch the range of the other bots as the lance is so slow. That's why you need to keep your rush mode to use it to escape or to get inside of an Ancile's shield of protection.

Take down its shield with your thunder and open fire with orkans. Toast, in pretty short order. Just make sure you save your rush for it and go all the way inside the anciles bubble.

Ok so i caved and used gold to get my thunder ork lance to 7/8thunder 9orks, he lays bots out lol.... ancilot gets whooped 1v1 lol... def takes patience and more skill then i thought to rip thru reds but when pulled off damm its fun.... most of the time when i dont have a good run with lance its a db griff that gets the drop on me, seems well balanced ancilot turns and sees thunder lance and 「dookie」s, thunder lance sees db griff in the sky and 「dookie」s

The thing about any 'type' of Lance is that they get a lot of attention from red team. One on one my ork ancilot will beat any other bot through attrition but usually the idea with a Lance is to get the attention of the reds so that the less op blue bots can have a respite from being attacked so they can focus on beacons. I run two lances in my current hangar a ancile ork and a thunder Taran.
Ork bot goes looking for hard targets ( brit bots & rhinos) and the Taran thunder looks for soft targets (griffs, carnies, etc)
Works well enough for the game to stay fun through a 45-65% win rate depending on how the mm screws me.

The trick to beating down an Ancilot with a OrkThun Lancelot is to use your thunder purely to knock down their shield before you approach OR, rush inside the shield bubble and punish them without the Anicle getting in the way.
Basically get close.
