Somebody please talk me out of this! The Legendary implant for RM showed up AGAIN today for 3100 A-coins. I have over 4k now and was planning on using it to level up and buy DL16 bps one at a time. The implant increases the blast radius by 66% which would increase the radius to about 10m at max level. That sounds SO tempting as I haven't had much luck with my RMs in a while, especially against humans and have been missing more than my usual against AI. It's almost as if the RMs got a silent nerf.
Anyway, do I continue to invest and make my RMs shine again? Part of my temptation of course is the Epic pilot is cute! LOL. But seriously I've been playing around with the idea of moving my CB12 to the KS eventually cause I have Major, and could use the extra implant slot cause I have the KS damage and radius implants.
My next project after the DL16 is cloned is likely working on the GR10 while hoping to get my hands on the AT12. Yes, I know the AT10 is already super powerful when leveled, but if the highest version is out and I have mechs that can use it, then why not wait? Anyway, I'm thinking the GR10, once cloned, can go on my Ares for now while I work on the Stalker next.
Of course, if I suddenly get the AT12, then my plan changes.

If it was me I would stick with your current projected projects....but I rarely run My Rocket Mortars....maybe 3 or 4 games every 3-4 months.

I believe (from the spreadsheet) that the epic implant increases the radius by 50%, going from 30 to 45 meters, and the legendary increases it by 66%, from 30 to 50 (49.8 if you want to be accurate) meters. Upgrading from baseline to max an epic implant costs 31k parts vs 63k for a legendary. Considering the cost in A-coins, plus removal of the epic, plus upgrading the legendary I don't thik it's worth it. The only scenario I would consider it, is if you don't have the epic implant already in your pilot. But that's just my idea and I need to say that I only have the epic. It's possible that the extra 5 meters actually make a difference.

I'd say get it. Mortars are probably the most consistent earner in Tournament so its legendary implants are among the most valuable in the game. I got lucky and won the gold radius in a crate and now maxing it and my Fei pilot is my main goal for pilots.
Also, as far as I can tell, even though there are supposed to be a wider range of epic/legendary implants in the store only three legendaries ever appear that are actually worth spending on: RM Radius, Shotgun Range, and Railgun Reload. So on the one hand, you can probably take a pass now and you'll see it pop up again later. But on the other hand, if you get it now to help with Tourney earnings, it's not like you have to scramble to save up another 3100 AC in case a really valuable implant suddenly appears in the store. I've been sitting on my reserve for a while and nothing worth getting ever appears.
Doubling your DL16 is definitely a really good goal too, but your mechs are already maxed, etc... I'd say taking a small detour and upping your RMs now is worth it.

One other comment. I bought the AT12 when the first real money deal for it appeared. So far getting the blueprints for it has been super slooooooow. I think you'll end up having to spend a lot of A-Coins to get it doubled, whereas you should be sitting on a ton of AT10 bps. ArcTorrents are 2nd most consistent earner in Tournament and being able to run two AT mechs is going to be worth it. Being able to drop a high kill count mech like Zephyr or Stalker for AI is great for getting points, but when strong human players appear, having something tankier on hands like an AT Ares will be real helpful. Once you buy the AT12s you can look at the math and see, but I'd give serious consideration to doubling the 10s first.

All good arguments! Thanks everyone. Just another thought...all the other projects I mentioned can't be used now, whereas I'm currently using RMs and indirect fire builds are the direct antithesis to one shot kill builds like the super Thanos and camper mechs. hmmm..

🤣 If it's not too costly get it and have fun. It's a game after all.

I did it! spent all my inventory of implant parts on it too so have 44% radius increase. I think I already see more hits! Gonna test it out some more.
