Then you can't spend the entire game trying to take out my sniper and then start throwing angry emojis at when I drop in a Rocket Mortar mech as my 2nd bot. I mean I love the fact that you went with a sniper straight off. Agora is THE sniper map. I look forward to it the whole month long (and then spend half the time playing it pissed at how sloppy my aim is, lol). And most human players immediately ruin it by going with Rocket Mortars and hiding all the way in the back. You get a handful of kills running around dodging until you finally get flattened. And then you gotta go hide in the back, doing the same, bored to freaking tears. It is lame as hell and another example of how much the devs let Rocket Mortars just ruin all the fun on map after map.
So I feel those angry emojis, I really do. But as much as I'd love a sniper war against my fellow humans, those days are gone. You want to enjoy sniper mode on Agora and actually get another human player willing to play along, you have to aim at the bots like I was, not follow me around the entire match trying to get a shot. Once the sniper goes down, the rain begins to fall.
PS - While this post describes a couple matches I had today, I am using it as a narrative device to bust on the devs, not the player I faced. I regard it as beyond lame that I now avoid shooting human players just enjoy sniping in that map. That this is what we are now forced to do since pilots came along. I didn't mind getting shot. Props to any player who starts off with a non-RM mech on Agora.

Don’t get mad if you’re doing the same.

Oh yeah, the way I hold my phone while playing, I accidentally hit that button at least once a day. I really wish you could customize the placement of the emoji controls tbh. I don't know how much an angry emoji means folks are actually angry or just playfully swearing. Either way I get it. If there was anti-Rocket Mortar swearing emoji, it'd the most popular one in the game.

Can’t agree more. Agora is one of my favorites, and a SB Panther is pretty much always my first drop. So far I don’t even have RM12s, but that may have to change soon. Tired of trying to take the high road and getting crapped on.

I never have time to Choose an emoji, it just appears. Maybe it's the lag in my connection, idk. It's a wasted feature for me. Fwiw I always start a deathmatch game with my Panther and dual railguns. If he dies to RM fire I drop in the Guardian with RM if he's in my hangar.

For me that map is the DL map, specially if I play against many human players... but same, if I die by RM fire I use my own RM.

Im not a sniper, nor do I play RM's, but i do not mind loosing to a sniper as much as a camper just throwing 「dookie」 up in the air from the back of the map to rain down on me.

I really don't understand "camper mentality". Facing a wall 2 minutes like you are punished and not allowed to move, just for some extra kills? I mean you can increase your numbers, but where is the fun?

I mean you can increase your numbers, but where is the fun? Think of it as farming. The more kills you make then the more points you get and higher in ranking to go. I'll pull out my RM12 KS in TDM to do this, but as soon as I see another confirmed human, I'll play seriously.

I figure it's lag too - some folks get them out so quick and they're obviously not accidents. Dual railgun Panther and then an RM mech seems to be a great 1-2 punch to roll out. Even if enemy mortars get you quick, good chance of racking up 3+ fast kills with the railguns to take an early lead. When I'm up against multiple mortars though, I just start with my RM12 Killshot.

I try to avoid doing it on maps like Agora but I can't play forever just get a few A-Coins. On the RM-dominant maps, I do the same, although I go with RM Killshot, which is way more fun. I end up hiding with it more than I like, but I can go mobile and play more reckless when it starts getting boring.

So do you go into the center and use your DLs from there or are you shooting long-range? I definitely face a bunch of players who are better with DLs long-range than I am and I just haven't gotten the hang of it yet.

How's this for a scenario...
Had a team game with someone who was Friend of a Friend. It went well. Then, I went into a TDM game and lo and behold, the FoaF was on the other team. He spent the entire first round on Colonade, tucked in that little sniper's nook, you all know the one. I was in my RM12 KS and could not flush him out so I concentrated on taking out AI reds instead. Eventually I died I jumped in my Thanos Guardian and snuck up behind the hut, waited for my Red Eye to go away, waited for him to empty his DL, and then stuck my arm around the corner and SNAP. Angry face. Round 2, he did the same, so I did the same thing, waited and SNAP! Angry face. Ended up winning the game.
Next game, ended up getting invited by the Friend and lo and behold, FoaF is invited too. So, I give him a GG and then he goes off on me saying I'm doing nothing but hiding. I laugh at him cause he was the one camping in the sniper's nook. I left the game before it could start, explained to the Friend after, and the Friend unfriended the toxic kid.

In Agora I go under the covered structure on the left crossing the bridge. From there I can attack most bots that are on the open and mechs hidden behind the wall at the center. It's also possible to attack the opposite position (mirroring this one) but that one is a little bit more tricky. It's mandatory to have the radius implant for DL, because this is totally dependent on the splash damage

I thought that I was the only one that never had time to choose a reaction 😅, I feel better now, lol. Worst case for me with the reactions is when you kill a camper and they send an angry face, it's like: c'mon!!

Yeah that sounds pretty toxic. Also hilarious, considering the part that got him angry was that you stopped using Rocket Mortars, lol. I will note that facing RM opponents does force snipers to stay in that nook. So much so that I forget I can move sometimes when my opponents run a different build. Really it seems like you get higher kill counts if you go towards center or even more out in the open on the opposite side, but there the mortars get you. Not that I think that was part of the FoaF's rant. Sounds like they were just being a goober...

I ran that a few times today and it is a nice combo, especially when you have only one human opponent stuck in the back with just RMs.
