I would like to know if my hangar is any good. I heard a new good bot came out called tengu, and it reminds me of mercury from War Robots. Interesting. As of now, I'm (mostly) happy with my hangar, but if they ever make tengu obtainable I'll swap out ares probably. Only thing im thinking about is maybe replacing PC 8 with Carbine 8. Have you guys ever seen $2.99 deals for them? Cheapest I've seen is $12.

Don't worry about chasing the latest and greatest. Everything will become available eventually. It's a marathon not a sprint.
I also wouldn't bother with CB8. Back when the game was still in Beta, there was a lot of discussion on whether it's better than PC8. They're similar with pros and cons each. IMO, focus on upgrading your mechs and think about which heavy weapons you want to run. For example, CB12 for a maxed Ares (which is my goal) and DL12 for a maxed Stalker, and dual RG16 for either the Panther or Guardian.

Fwiw I find DL12 and DL 8 together to be superior to a CB12 build on Ares. It is my second best build after Panther with dual railgun 12s.

I would keep Ares in your hangar, it's just too strong of a mech. Tengu is fun, I have him at 4 stars. Speedy and I have temporarily replaced Killshot with him in cpc matches. I have an MR 8 on him and an rpg 2 😜.

I picked mine on "sale" and it was at like R2, so the upgrade path is long for me.

They offered recently a 3 star Tengu for $10.99 and at 2 stars for $3.99. I'm not positive about the last one because I got the first deal. I guess they will offer it again at a similar price.

Tengu is pretty fragile. It's a fun bot but Killshot and Ares are much more vital. It only costs $3 and there is currently a recurring Specialization Spree where you can earn 300 A-Coins playing it, so it is worth picking up. But I wouldn't be in a rush to upgrade it or plan on it being a key mech you need to run. A lot of top players are running it right now but I think that's because they have already maxed their main mechs and it is good and fun enough to run. If they had to choose between upgrading the mechs in your hangar and Tengu, my guess is Tengu would be lower down on the list.
The only thing about your hangar is that I don't see a Killshot in the mix. Overall I would think in terms of 6+ mechs to really level up that are good for various maps, but if you really only were thinking of 5, then I would say Killshot is more important than Guardian. But ultimately, Guardian is on of the few solid mechs that can carry 32EN, so it is worth levelling too.
I recommend PC8s over Carb8s. I am currently using my PC8s a lot for Accomplishment tasks and even though they are only 4.7 and I not using any pilot skills, they are surprisingly robust. They get a lot better at L5 I hear, but I wouldn't bother taking them to L6. With all the new weapons, even Carb10s don't seem worth it anymore. I'd just go straight for Carb12s and not bother with the others.

Hm, so one thing i'd like to note: I'm not really all that competitive with this game. A lot of what I'm hearing has some things that, while it may be dumb to you, is simply normal for me:
- I don't ever plan on getting 10+ EN weapons really. The fact that you need to max them for a second is too much. I don't play this nearly enough to max anything. I'm content staying in low leagues with 3-4 star mechs and weapons (except for my disc launchers, which came at 5) - I like killshot, but i dont play it. It bothers me that it has a wheel and everything else has legs, so i got stalker to replace it. Yeah, i know. Stupid right? Not using the best bot in the game because it has a wheel. Oh well. Customizing my hangar and making it pretty genuinly is more important to me than having the best advantage i can get. - I am happy to hear tengu comes around for $4, I will probably pick it up and run it. Possibly to replace ares, even though I'm hearing from a lot of you that ares is really strong, to me, its the fun factor here. Jumping scout > lumbering slow tank. This is also why I have no intent on running any snipers or rocket mortars despite their extreme power. Its boooooring, and those long reloads are annoying.
I shouldve honestly prefaced with this, lol, i'm a weirdo

I shouldve honestly prefaced with this, lol, i'm a weirdo I wouldn't plan your hangar around light mechs like Tengu. Light mechs are ridiculously frail until you get to level 6 at least, and really need to be maxing to run anything but Javelins. And that is super expensive. You can get a 2-Star Tengu for $3 when the right deal pops up. But it's only 6EN, so all you can viably run is a single Jav6. To get to Rank 3 (8EN total) is just 750 A-Coins, but then it is 2,500 to get to Rank 4 (10EN) and 3750 to R5 (12EN) and it will still be super squishy. That's why everyone saves light mechs for last. First you focus on the breadwinners that can carry heavier firepower, then you use those to farm the resources to max the expensive (but fun) light mechs so you can finally out some interesting weapon combos on them. Overall your hangar as is works fine for the long-term. Killshot is useful but that Stalker is a good substitute. If you really are hung up on the wheel thing, don't worry - what you've got now will keep working. But in general, don't bother taking 8EN weapons past Rank 5 or 6EN weapons past Rank 4. Their firepower doesn't increase enough to be worthwhile. Once you reach that point and feel your firepower lacking, go straight for 12 and 16EN weapons instead, with the top priorities being Rocket Mortar 12, Railgun 16, ArcTorrent 10.

But tengu's I have fought do all their damage with the slam ability, it often instakills me. Rank 5 is probably the only point where it starts dealing okay damage with a pair of arc 6, but then I'd need to find new weapons for my zeph.

It's about the lack of HP to effectively use a sustained fire weapon. MD is beefier than Tengu and it can heal. Mine is still only at 6EN so I can't comment for certain but I think it is pretty likely that you'll mostly have to stick to Javs until you max it and then Shotgun 8s or MR8s. You can try Shotguns/Missile Racks before that. I have a feeling MRs will be more viable than Shorties. Either way you're looking for high burst damage weapons that allow for minimal to no exposure to enemy fire. I'd take a look at the Tengus instakilling you and check their stats. My guess is they are highly levelled. The ability damage seems pretty minimal at the lower ranks.

Adazahi. MM is based predominantly on your account XP. By 150k XP, the AI will all be high 4 star loadouts and 5 star loadouts. The curve gets steep because upgrades slow down the higher you get. The MM doesn't care, and will keep pushing you up according to how much you've played. The Lowest level your hangar can be to play comfortably once the AI has high teir gear and human (paid) players are in every other match: 4.7 with pilots. 5.7 without pilots. Anything under those milestones will evaporate the moment anything 5-6 stars touches it. Being underleveled just means mech-out in a minute.
