Yeah, I saw that. I am disappointed that they did this. Stalker was already meta as is. The low HP balanced it out.

This also makes me wonder how strong the new tank they are about to release will be. Could be unrelated, but given Stalker's amped firepower, could be this is to drive sales and upgrades for both mechs.

Idk how bad this will be for game balance, but 30% sounds like it could make Stalker OP. I have faced maxed Stalkers couple times and they were already strong. In the other hand, it is true that they have been gradually disappearing from completely maxed hangars. It's a little bit annoying that the recent buffs happened on items that are not available in the progress path, it's making more clear the business idea. As expected, now there is a specialization spree and if you don't upgrade Stalker's rank, now you need to win 35 battles with him. For me 30 was already too much, so I think I will pass this time

Me too. I started leveling my Stalker and then it's over 2800 A-coins to rank up to R5. Geez, I'm not ready for that kind of commitment, especially since I still think Ares will round off my hangar better. It may be disappearing from maxed hangars because people are realizing what a glass cannon it is. I mean, I like that the ability is balanced, but who wants to invite more damage when they don't have to? It makes the Stalker best used with indirect fire weapons because in those high level games, if you step out of cover or stick your torso out too much, you're toast.

Could be unrelated, but given Stalker's amped firepower, could be this is to drive sales and upgrades for both mechs. This is the core of what keeps me liking and playing MA, but it's also probably the source of Plarium's frustration in trying to make money. Every new content they bring out is not that much better than what's existing and anyone who wants to use the new stuff has to spend MORE money to make it viable, and there's only so much people will spend to do that. The new tank sounds interesting, but if they keep with their design philosophy, it will be different rather than better than what's available now. Even if the ability is a merger of other mechs' ability, what they take from the other mechs will be degraded somehow on the new mech. Look at Redox...it only applies stasis not total EMP like the Zephyr. Look at Stalker. It can only heal itself and not others, and the extra damage is balanced by taking extra damage. So, my prediction of the new tank - I think it's going to be called Aegis, is that it'll be a combination of Jugg shield and Redox blast, but it'll likely be a weaker shield and the blast won't cause Stasis.

With these type tasks I'll usually drop the mech right at the end of matches I am already winning, but today it actually can rack up a few kills even at Rank 3. For the MVP task 2v2 works pretty well though some maps you gotta bail out if you're using Javs. Hey does anyone know how Stalker's ability works with weapon firing? If you're running Javs or Mortars say, do you need to activate the ability before you fire or just before the weapons hit the target?

I think I remember reading from someone here that the ability works of weapons in flight, so you can launch and quickly hit the ability button.

Yeah sometimes I do the same, dropping the mech at the end of battles that I'm winning, but at some point just trying to complete the number becomes a chore and is not enjoyable anymore.

Yes. I actually like the idea of new content not being "the new meta" by design and OP all the previous mechs. The problem is that upgrading is too expensive or slow. I think that they should reconsider the cost of upgrading and the time that it takes to get BP... but my impression is that they are going more in the other direction. They offer relatively inexpensive versions of almost everything, and then you need to get more resources to gradually upgrade it. Maybe real deals in blueprint packages or BP crates would help. I think that conceptually those crates with BP that you open with A coins are not a bad idea, but when you make some numbers about what you obtain in exchange of your resources, just doesn't make sense.

Just before I ranked up my Ares to R5, I noticed that both my Ares and Stalker at the same level had the same HP. That would explain why it was so hard to take down a maxed Stalker I encountered.

Yeah it's pretty tankish now. Even with the penalty. That's why I commented that it could be OP now. I have the impression that at 3 stars or at low levels of 4 stars he still dies relatively easy (HP 32,000 to 50,000ish), but after that becomes sturdy. Obviously will depend on the weapons and mechs that you are facing.
