Disclaimer: Not a One Piece fan (I don't watch or read it, at least for now)
So why am I talking about a game completely unrelated to War Robots or mechs or robots in general?
Because you can capture beacons!
Jokes aside, they're called "Treasures"
You pick two characters and capture treasures. Whichever team holds 3 or more treasures by the end of the game wins, it's not score based like War Robots is. And no, you can't spawn on the captured treasures.
So far I enjoyed it, but it's still pay to win with op characters and a lot of leveling and upgrading which will take immense amount of grinding or RM.
The characters
Being a typical Gacha game, you mostly get new characters by a summon system. You need premium currency for this which can be obtained by in game activities or RM. You can get two to four star characters, although you can upgrade any character to six stars. Characters are divided to three categories, Runners, Attackers, and Defenders. Runners gets treasures, Attackers attack other players, and Defenders defend your treasures.
Upgrading characters
You'll always get a new character at level 1, regardless of their star rating. But their star rating does determine their level cap. Four star characters have a maximum level cap of 60, with three or two star characters being lower. But this level cap can be increased by usingcomponents character fragments. Gather enough of them and you can also increase the character's star rating.
Boost
Boost is a separate upgrade system that is different from leveling. They need specific items called Boost Orbs to use.
Pilot Skills Medals
You can put medals on characters once you reach a certain level. You make them with fragments from in game activities. Medals have one specific trait, but three additional traits can be added to it by upgrading it. A character can have a maximum of 3 medals.
Support characters
In game, you can only deploy two characters. But you can use unused characters to boost your deployed characters.
Meta?
Four star characters are often the best ones, but even amongst the four star characters there are some that are far stronger than the others. Currently, the meta monster is EX Luffy. This guy can switch between an Attacker and a Runner while all the other characters are locked to only one category, and his special skills deals obscenely high damage and can stun enemies for a long time.
Is it P2W?
Absolutely.
