Ok, this has happened twice now. I'm at a red spawn point, see a red spawn, and immediately fire but the red takes no damage, I've wasted most of my ammo, and then get toasted by the red. This happen to anyone else?

I think there is an immunity to damage and negative effects when you first spawn. I’ve noticed that when a red spawns, they glow red for a few seconds. I will wait until that wears off before I attack.

I’m wondering if it’s a timing/lag issue. I have noticed that when a red spawns, sometimes my hits register, and sometimes they don’t. I’ve also noticed that when I spawn, I’m sometimes immune to zephyr’s emp. I did notice it today during a tourney match. Who knows? Maybe it is a conspiracy.

it used to be that when you spawn in a new bot, they were vulnerable to effects, but not weapons fire. it was recently changed such that they're completely invulnerable

Wait a couple seconds to fire or use EMP/Shutdown, etc. I don't know the exact count but the immunity applies to any spawning mech, yours included.
