Hi all,
Got an Erebus recently, and thinking of levelling it up.
I have 2 setups for it: Prismas or Hels.*
I also have the Legendary Pilot Samael Johansen (or whatever: his name seems deliberately confusing) - but is the other Legendary Pilot better? I don't want to waste resources on an inferior pilot.
I plan on slapping Erebus into my LR/MR hangar, so both weapon setups would work in theory. However, I think I've heard (or imagined) that Hel are due a nerf? Wouldn't surprise me as I've got 「fluffernutter」ing 20 of them.
So yeah: Is Erebus worth levelling looking ahead at things, and would you slap Prisma or Hel on it considering futureproofing?

Yes the Froodles family are getting a nerf, but Puncher is the literally the best build for Erebus! Try it out, you will be amazed. If not, Prisma melts enemys in a heartbeat.

I am no expert but I do run an Erebus. I have never run it with Hels but I alternate between Prismas and Punchers. An Erebus with Punchers can be very deadly. I really enjoy running it. The issue for me is when the 「french dookie 」 is hitting the fan and you are being bear down by reds then the Erebus is taken out quickly. I am better with it when I have the time to move and position myself. I actually run two pilots - Basil when I equip Prismas and Jad when I run Punchers. I have never equipped mine with Hels but I have felt the sting of a triple Hel Erebus! Both the Hel and Puncher are receiving nerfs per the Pixo announcement. I do not think you can go wrong with any pilot that improves the performance of your bot or weapons.

Erebus not the best brawler, so being on the move constantly is important with Puncher loadout. You will also get a lot of laser strikes attention, so being in motion can help save the day, plus I use Mantis. Save it for MS garbage. Prisma is deadly to Roaches and Mosquitoes, esp. with EMP strike. Love it! I took my Bus to 2.4, my Prismas are now all 1.8 and surprisingly good. I prefer spreading the Punchers around, and I prefer Jad for my big map hangar as I get quite a few cya kills from low health reds with that 800m range inbuilt instead of using Last Stand.
Have fun, but know you will get reds attention, a lot of attention….I use Quantum Radar, that is my only chance if a roach or two get close….kill them fast of die, lol

I don’t think Hel class nerf will do a whole lot, but it will slow them down a bit. Prisma is best, but if you are good at brawl, Punchers with stacked N/A will make many reds quite angry. If reds are able to push, the Bus is in trouble….. |

Even less skill required than the aimbot weapons - you actually have to aim those. IMO Puncher is a good build - but very situational. Incinerators are ok, but I think Smuta is the best build in terms of brawling right now. But please don't run Prismas, we really don't need another Prismerebus on the field |

Run Shield breaker or Quantum Radar with Hel or Zues for now. Lvl it up a bit, then you will have better options by the time the next update kicks in. I always start on the further edge of usability when using a low lvl bot. Johansen pilot tends to lean on the better side of "Brawler" or "Close Range Support Fire" than the Jad Parks Pilot. That one is better for the ranged builds.

In silver so take this with a pinch of salt.
If you are looking for long range set up you have to go with prismas. NAs and fortifier.
However it’s not an OP set up imo. The brawlers are too fast and close the distance too quickly. For this reason the prisma Erebus may survive a nerf for a very long time. If you want to snipe than go for it. If you want to dominate than rethink.

T34, he's using the Brawler/Mid-range support pilot. His best bet to take advantage of that pilots bonus damage upon skill use is 800M Tempest/Gauss maximum range. Running anything longer on that pilot is a pure waste and he could just use a Jad Parks. @withnailer, the name thing is intentional but it's not confusing. Samael is the name of an Angel/Demon. The sur-name Johansen is a modern interpretation of son of Johan/John.

I want to run a Shield bot so bad. I loved my Hades and Typhon and i felt the Erebus was the next logical step. Dayum LPs killed those dreams and it is only getting worse. I think the next Legendary Pilot will be one for the Orichi that doesnt add an extra stealth but gives it SB while in stealth mode. Just watch. But to answer the question, you need something that has a little range, but can deal damage up close when the reds come calling. Either punchers or new curving bullet gun.

Weirdest thing...I saw 2 Eribi running ancile in my last match. I couldn't see the lvl of them or if they had shield amplifiers or amped pilot skills. They both survived most of the match but I clearly out damaged both those guys.

Got a second Ere, but probably only going to level the Puncher build. It's quite sexy IMO, and as you guys said: dishes out serious damage. Might be getting a buff too.
I'll level Prisma build too, just because I was asked not to :-p
Remember to wash your hands before using the toilet, not afterwards.

They both survived most of the match but I clearly out damaged both those guys. Aaaah, I know why! The aimbot guns are really weak against anciles, and when I have been attacking regular Erebuses with them, it shreds the aegis and its basically a free kill. But when they run ancile, it's harder - the aimbots are the only guns in the meta that don't bypass them right now, so as soon as they see the shield come up they get to cover and I can't hit them. Ancile recharges and aegis, and they keep popping out of cover to attack me. I can only shred their shield, and when it gets low they go back in. Annoying for me, but I'm kind of glad people are starting to find counters to the new meta. There is still hope! |

I love the Prisma Erebus set up for the same reason most other players hate it. I can relax while playing - other than knowing where to set up camp and occasionally needs to move to cover, it is a mindless bot to play. We all need that from time to time. Kill Reds as long as I can, try to control the map for my team, and accept my fate when the reds finally get to me (because they will - EVERYONE hates the sniper). There are days I just can't handle the high adrenaline of close and midrange combat. On those days, I pick TD or Domination, hope for a long map and drop and Prisma/Erebus or a Weber/Typhon.
I have seen the puncher Erebus build up close. It is nasty. But, if you don't wipe out your enemy and time your lockdown well, you will likely get counter-destroyed. Definitely takes more skill with that build and you need to play more of a sniper/brawler blend to last.

I always hated the long range game but I splurged and picked up an Erebus and prisma deal today. What are the best pilot/module/drones for this build?

For the pilot, it is between Basil Lapatte and Samuel Johanson. Samuel gives more burst damage, but Basil is not ability dependent, so whichever you prefer. Don’t bother with Jad Parkes, sure he has troll value, but is damage is way less than the other two. Energy shield expert and crazy electrician are must have skills, with road hog and modules expert being honorable mentions. For modules, Nuclear Amplifier and Fortifier are the obvious picks for me, as damage and a strong shield are Erebus’ string suites. Cloaking Unit is not a bad choice for this bot, but not as good as the other two. Shieldbreaker and Quantum Radar are the standard active module choices, though if motherships are getting the better if you, Phase Shift and Jump Unit can be your get out of jail free card. |
