What are the disadvantages of running all brawlers?

You may bot out as you will have to get in close and that opens you up for long and short range fire. IMHO there is no reason to field a long-range bot unless you want to grind for Silver. Getting the Gold for damage requires high-level long range weapons on a proper platform to make it cost effective in terms of Damage Per Second, for instance Treb Fury, Treb Butch.
There is a point to be made for the 500M mid-range game though, were you can get solid gains with a RDB Griff, and eus/Trident Carnage/Natasha. Again, YMMV but I wouldn't field one until you have the 4th or 5th slot.

Long range is only needed for those squad specialists that clear out the midrange furies imo. Otherwise midrange is the way to go.

with the heavy speed buff, most heavy bots can be used in close range. the close range maps make them useless as well.

Short answer: Long range is not necessary
Long answer:
Short range only is great for soloing and early tiers. Adding a single mid-range is a good bet when you have 4 or 5 bots in your hangar. A long range bot can be effective as part of a cohesive squad strategy but can fall short when you are soloing.

Mid and long range bots will own you. Doesn't have to be a detriment, makes you play smarter. It's feasible but can be frustrating, which is why I have a fury in my line up.

You can run an all-brawler lineup. I do. Personally, I can't stand playing mid-long range; I find it boring.
However, you have to commit to it. Don't skip maps. Every map has a place where the close range action happens. Learn those places and learn how to get to them without getting hit by the snipers.
Also, rushing a Trident Fury with a Thunder Carnage is a special kind of awesomeness!

There is going to be a time when you drop into either Yamantau, Canyon or Springfield and become food for all Tridents/Zeus/Trebuchets.
Sadly there will be nothing you can do against some well played mid rangers/long rangers.

I second the idea that once you hit 4 bots, having a mid range/long range is beneficial.
Think on this scenario...
Your team is all brawlers rushing the center beacon, you leading the charge. You soak up the damage and die first but give your team time to all reach the beacon. Now if you have a mid to long range bot, you can choose that next game contribute damage to your team holding the center beacon.
If all you have is brawlers, well, you better pray your team can last until you get up there.
All that said, my range bot only reaches to 600m. That's mid range but seems to work well enough. This also means you have options ranging from a Trident Carnage to a Pin/tumbler Griffin or rhino, or even a Griffin with Molots.

Long maps....can be a disadvantage. beyond that, you just lose some flexibility to respond to threats and to balance out your squad. If most players on your squad are balanced with brawlers and some LR/MR, then you having all brawlers is fine. If everyone is all brawlers, then you could run into problems. id rather have more brawlers than more MR/LR bots on my squad....brawlers take territory. And look at the Legends league set ups....heck of a lot more brawlers. Some players there run hangers with lancelots only. |

Personally I see very little value to long range. Fullstop. Even if it's used to eliminate midrange. REDS are heavy with trident furies, bad for them. Cap as many beacons and wait for them to come to you. Or take the scenic route to break the distance--you have this luxury since you're ahead on beacons.
Midrange is useless unless your team is ahead in beacon bar. It's frustrating to see a trident fury standing around spawn when it's crunch time and reds have the advantage.
All brawler hangers are fine as long as you're not mech'ing out with 3 minutes left on the game. I know you're real tough but would it kill you to add a power runner? How about an RDB at least?
If you care about leagues, more than before, the new MM is about winning. And to do that it's good to have a balanced hanger of 1-2 fast bots or power runners, 1 mid range, and the rest brawlers. And by the end of the game, you *should be* on your last bot. If you aren't then you likely spent too much time in that mid ranger (liability) or mech-ed out because you're too aggressive (also a hindrance to your team winning).

I was thinking about the same thing. You are very limited when using a super long range weapon. IMO, Medium range is perfect. I would rather dodge the line of sight of long range from the other side than wasting a few minutes trying to kill them from far.

Yes, they have a purpose. It was a necessity for me to run long range before when the meta was mid-range. Our squad would repeatedly lose, and we tried to use different tactics to no avail. Just 2 Trident Furys is enough to stop an advance. If you like to lose, be frustrated, and rage, then go with all brawlers. I've tried jumping with a Griffin many times against a Trident Fury, and it never worked since I got killed before I fired a single shot. Tried chasing a Carnage Trident with a Rhino on Yamantau bridge, and same result but even worse. They will kite you so you don't stand a chance. On Shenzhen, you stand the best chance of reaching and eliminating the Fury. So I was told to use a Fury Treb to deal with the threats. When I took it out one time, I got backlash from my teammates asking what I'm doing.
Nowadays, the reign of the Fury is past so I occasionally run my sniper set up to mix things up. I'll mostly run a mid-ranger, like a Fury Trident, Fujin Tulumbas, or Carnage Trident. I can run an all brawler hanger, but I don't recommend the average person do this. Only recently have I developed the skills needed to deal with a Fury or Carnage. Looking back, I can see my attempts were futile, and I was just banging my head against the wall. But life is so much easier with a good sniper on your team. Since I was the designated sniper, I asked my team if the red Trebs bothered them ( I think there were so many, like 1 Trident Fury, 2 Treb Natshas), and I thought I was ineffective that game, but they said they didn't notice them at all. Even though I didn't kill them, I kept them occupied and off the backs of my squadmates.

You need a brawler to take that beacon. And when that bot is toast, you need to follow up with another brawler to take it back. Brawlers win the match. Snipers support the brawlers. You just need to learn how to move around the maps without exposing yourself to sniper fire. Let everybody else hang back waiting for cheap shots to take. Cheap shots don't win matches; beacons do. Brawlers take the beacons. |

Actually it does have its use to keep people in range. But the damage is bad. So even if I run one of those and win. My damage is somewhere at the bottom. As if I didnt do anything. Long range is not for everyone. I thought that it was for me. But I think I am wrong. Lol |

Snipers have always been feared on the battlefield for good reason .. Get a Molot Griffin. It will bring joy and happines to Trident Fury, Zeus Carnage, Zeus\Gekko Leo and Trebuchet Fury. Your range is 800, Treb is 1100, and he need a whopping 23 seconds to fully reload. So you got killed in your brawler, get location of the Treb, hop into your Griffin, walk along a wall, and stop just inch from the corner. Chances are, Trebuchet will lead you, and waste a shot, miscalculating your manoeuvre. Then you walk around a corner, jump you 150-meter jump and walk into your firing range, accelerating Molots. Now if they have several snipers+brawlers+Fujin with a shield, protecting those snipers... That's another story, and it is called "playing against well-organized team", and usually your hangar doesn't matter in this situation. But bringing down Zeus\Trident guys with silver weapon.. Man, this is what money can't buy you. For everything else there's Mastercard  |

Mid range most probably will survive longer than knife fighter, I will bring out a mid range if,
My first few bots die too fast and bring in another knife fighter will probably die very fast too.
There are many red Gareth, Galahad and None Ancile Lancelot around, bring out RBD Griffin or Trident Carnage is good option to take them out without getting in their range.

Having 500-600m midrange or a Molot Griffin can make things "easier" on larger maps. If you don't enjoy it though it's not necessary. There will usually be some long/mid range people on your team to cover that. Be patient, let your teammates & the other team move, you react to there movements. Be sure to keep track of who has what weapons, enemy reload times (especially Trebs/Tridents/Zues), stay off the radar until you're in an effective position, choose targets that are isolated or preferably already engaged to avoid drawing aggro from the enemy squad... hope this helps  Things won't always go your way but hey, hard things are fun! (This was a replica of a Forum Members L8 hanger @ L12 on the test server, they had asked for help as a dedicated knife fighter struggling on larger maps) |
