Yeah, I’ve been wondering that too.
Did Pilots affect people’s enthusiasm that much? Dunno. There’s been other lulls in MA forum activity before, but this feels a bit different.

Noticed that too.
I haven't really played much since pilots. For me, having four different resource drains is too much; makes it easier for those who spend to open up a power gap.
Again, personally, I think three resource drains gives more than enough load out flexibility whilst just about being manageable by all players. I can see MA going further down the War Robots route and introducing additional levels of resource drains, whether that's drones or some sort of Titan equivalent, idk.
That kind of neverending arms race bores me, tbh.
I still log in daily and collect the freebies and I might yet still use the basic pilots and implants and see if I can have fun with that. For now, I'm just giving it a bit of a break.

As a War Robots refuge I was dead set against pilots when it was announced,I had a bad feeling I knew the storm that was coming.I decided to take a step back from the game the day pilots dropped and monitor the game from the FB groups,a couple of YT influencers I follow and of course on here.
Nothing I have read or seen has made me feel good about the direction of the game or its future,I haven't played since pilots dropped and have in fact uninstalled completely.
Sure I have been tempted to get back in and just suck up the crap, but I know how tempting it is to start throwing money into a game to try and keep up with the meta.
I still monitor the game on the hope things will change but up to this point I have seen nothing to make me want to reinstall and get playing again.
Don't get me wrong I'm not against changes in gameplay and welcome new ideas, but the way Plarium integrated pilots combined with a reduction of winnable A coins along with other bad moves I read about online I can see it won't end with pilots, there is other ideas coming soon and it will add to the grind and the power gap between the players.
I have found something else to fill my spare time and I no longer am tempted to play MA,I hope things improve but deep down I know I'm done with the game.

Well, I'm not quite done with MA. I did remove my Pilots and lowered my sp to low 3000s. That has helped quite a bit. Fewer max clans or players. I don't know why, but it works for me. I will see what happens in the future. I do miss the discussions here.

Maybe removing pilots does help.

Been a little busy between snow days and covid closing school down for a few days as well. Having 3 kidlets at home is not conducive to goofing off.
Son: Daaaaadddd! Me: Is anyone bleeding? Son: No Me: Carry on.
In other news it appears we have welcomed a new addition to the family. Mom and dad haven't actually seen this child, but he is apparently named, Not Me.

I deleted mech arena a few days ago just for a trial separation. Haven’t felt the need to reinstall yet, but we’ll see.

There haven't been many developments since pilots except for the few YouTube guides and CASH ONLY events, so there hasn't been much to talk about. There will probably be some talk (maybe even by me) about the new pilot event that's coming up. Judging by official statements, Snipers are getting their gold pilot as the release after the purple teir rocket pilot. They can't be removed from AI because they're already hard coded into the live server. Future pilots will not be available to the AI before their release to the live server for player aquisition.
More ways to get pilot crap other than the shop, and an "explaination" for the ridiculous tax on removing leveled implants. The generation of the pilot currencies is too strict, so they are going to try distributing them the same way we're guaranteed 500 coins a week through battle-a-thon, dailies, and weekly quests. Players at the end of the exp track get a random weekly reward.
I still think their overall resource distribution needs work, because tournament has always been severely flawed in how it's rewarded, where 5% of the playerbase gets the majority of earnable resources, which keeps them at the top in perpetuity.
They need to shrink the disparity between rankings, so that a decent amount of coins can be obtained so long as someone isn't bottom 5 on a card, and even then, bottom 5 on a card still gets a consolation on the final day, where they can't be "demoted".
They're rethinking their entire method of how items are unlocked and released.
If it's not on the progress path now: Shotgun8, MR12, Jav8, it's not going to be introduced in in-game resources outside of the A coin slot machine events. In other words, all new items now priced at $40 after their initial "Debut event" which are token based. Free players get limited spins, $100 USD to claim all prizes.
DO NOT LET THE LISTED DROP % FOOL YOU.
Technically, yes, it's 10%. But it's rigged. First spin or last spin. They've changed the events to justify no coin returns on tokens. You either spend the money and have exactly what you need to clear for the release events, or have "free" events where there's no coin return on unused tokens, so rolling more than what events pay out is a pay "more", but not necessarily need all.
It's a mess, but it's not unsalvageable. Most of the Beta and base community consists of War Robots refugees, for better and worse(whales).
All we can do is enjoy it for what it's worth, and move on when it's not worth anything.

I've been playing a lot less. I got pilots for all my mechs to make the Pilot tasks easier. But, I'm only focusing my upgrading to my purple and gold pilots. I'll probably eventually get all purple pilots, but right now, my Paragon and KS both have blue Rare pilots.
My goal is to still max my mechs first, just so that I can run them optimally with respect to EN before I focus on other stuff. I'm still pissed that neither the Stalker or MR12 are available for in game resources yet but meh, I probably would not get them any way because I need to focus on what I have first. Well...I might get the Stalker just because I fell my Paragon is just a stop gap mech.
My games fall into 4 categories:
1. Mostly AI and I'll win usually but sometimes the AI get aggressive which is not a bad thing. 2. Have 1 or 2 red humans and they usually play like cowards and sulk in their home base the whole match. These games are 50/50 in terms of winning. It's really annoying to lose a game to someone with lower SP because they let their AI team mates do all the work and they just skulk. 3. Have a Team battle and we steamroll the red AI. Not fun at all. 4. Get steam rolled by a full human red squad. If I see more than a few obvious human names, I usually quit before the end of the game.
Sometimes, I'll get a human adversary who plays like I do and we give each other green smiles when we get killed by each other. These are rare but I usually try to friend the other person after the match.
I still don't like Pilots, but I'm taking advantage of it to make my JR6 Stalker more powerful. If I ever get the Stalker, I'll likely be running JR8 on it and one-shot killing from behind cover. That's the state of the game these days. When you run into human players, you either get one-shot killed with DRG16 builds, or you meet people who don't step out of cover ever. This game has become a 3rd person shooter with mech skins. They should just give us a first person mode like Mech Battle.

All I can say is that I’ve been seeing War Robots folks laughing at MA for becoming the same cash grab as War Robots. I have no idea if that’s true or not

Hey who changed my avatar to a black cat??? Now I have to find my koala gif all over again! On the MA note, it's not nearly as bad as War Robots yet. Ironically, for me, the one thing that used to drive me crazy in Beta is now the saving grace: there are more AI than human players in the game.

The most innerving thing about all this is that Plarium had a very long beta where they could have figured all this stuff out first. Was that really an ALPHA, and this is the BETA?

My play is about half of what it was. Pilots didn't kill the game, but the extra complexity isn't helping a game that was to be a streamlined War Robots. Me stepping away completely isn't in the near future, but with Rubik's cubing and other twisty puzzles, and a few shows i watch i have plenty of stuff to fill the time between killing reds.
