First off - this forum is awesome! I've learned a lot and it is has made the playing experience more enjoyable. Because of this site, I've avoided some pitfalls (5th slot, etc.) but wish I would have found the forum sooner.
My Dilemma - After reading through several posts, it seems I've made a rookie mistake by upgrading my bots too high too soon.
Patton 7/7 - Boa 5/7 - Griffin 7/7 - Leo 7/6 - Leo 7/6
Main question - Do I need to make a major change in my lineup to achieve more victories (I'm sitting at just over 50%)? Or Do I just play through until my weapons are 2 levels above my bots?
Side note: Are Leo's as crappy as I read? They've been good to me but I would dump them is they are only dead weight later. I don't hear much good about them as the game progresses.
Any advice concerning my hanger would be appreciated.

I think it all depends on what you want to do, how are you doing with what you have and if you are enjoying it.
The Patton and boa are cheap to buy if you wanted to and move your weapons over to them around level 4. My silver hangar is 4/9 mediums and they do well. Your heavies, if you really want to run heavies right now might be OK if you keep the weapons at lvl 5ish, but I'm not too sure. I like bigger guns though. Which is why I'm running mediums.
The Leo is fine. You won't hear a lot of high praise for it, but it's still solid all around. It's not a bad mid-range platform with trident and pins, pretty decent close up with thunder and mags, and has gotten a bit more played with the rise of the aphid, as it's the only heavy that can carry 3.

I did similiar, leveled a Leo to 7 & a Griffin to 8 before figured out what was going on.
I would look at retooling line up. Your heavys will be useless for a while. Im 30 lvl & 8 lvl Griffin is still parked!!. Not useful yet.
How is your bankroll - Gold & Silver?
Show us you hanger & any extra weapons.
If you can run well, best guarantee on Gold is highest beacon count.

Consider grabbing your high luv weapons, sticking them on low level bots and grabbing easy 10 gold per game from bronze, then use the money to level up your weapons to find an equilibrium.

Any advice concerning my hanger would be appreciated. Ok, shelf your heavy bots for now. Put the weapons on medium bots and farm in silver tier until your weapons hit lvl8. Then re-buy your heavy bots (since they start at lvl6) and you are good to go in high silver tier. Alternatively, you can buy new heavy bots and run them in 6/7. Not the best option, but still able to hold up on its own. About the Leo, it's a fine entry heavy bot, especially Magnum Thunder Leo, they are menacing. I'd say keep it. Griffins and Leos are your best friends in a Entry Heavy Hangar. |

I was in a position where I had all level 5 mediums with level 5 weapons. rather than leveling the weapons up from there I bought a new hanger of level 1 mediums and changed my weapons over. Leveled the mediums to 3 and then started leveling the weapons up to the point that the old mediums would be usable again.
Never actually did that though, when the weapons were high enough I bought 5 level 6 heavies.
As to the leo. I have had one game (only) where a tri mag thunder leo (6/8) took on all comers and won. Ended the game on half health and never used my second slot. Killed 9 reds, mostly from full health. Usually however, the leo doesn't last long.

The only thing I'll add to the comments above is that the Leo doesn't get a lot of love but it is a solid bot. If you like to slug it out, the mag thunder leo is a good choice - you can't jump, they know you are coming but you have the hitting power and health to stay in the fight in silver and lo gold.
A lot of us have made the same mistake, retooled our line up based on the MM tiering info and input from others, and then had a lot more fun in matches that are a bit more equitable.

I will 2nd on boomsplats comment. I still run a leo in my low gold hanger. I. I runa thunder/mag.
When I need to clear a beacon I know I can get to (read slow), I grab the Leo. It has decent health & only hvy w 3 light hard points. It will deliver on damage. My hanger is 2x Griffin, Rhino, Galahad, Leo. Hvys are 6/7, going to 8.
I want to clarify earlier post on your, saying their useless was probably to strong. After I started reading forum, I really tried to balance out my hanger to my advantage. Running the mix of med / hvys can put you at a significant disadvantage!
Like others posted, I would take the weapons an make a bronze hanger. Level the med to 3 & keep weapons @ 7.
Well rounded hanger:
2× cossacks - put on Taran
2x Boa - sturdy, pack good punch w Thunder/Taran or Orkan
1x patton. - great for practice w missles

I'm grateful for all the responses. My take away from this thread. 1. Rebuy low level med bots and use high level weapons (full medium bot hangar). 2. Continue to level weapons to gain Gold and Silver 3. Rebuy heavy bots or reuse stored bots (full heavy hangar) 4. Continue to level weapons to gain Gold and Silver 5. **Leo is not terrible but will eventually need to be replaced for gold tiers. Some concerns: - Other than the boa - will all that investment on medium bots be wasted? - Wouldn't a low level heavy hanger make sense while I'm leveling my weapons - or am I missing something? My Bankroll:I'm sitting on 15k WSP - hold off on another bot? Carnage? Sitting on 750 gold - ORKAN? My hangar: Weapons not shown - (lvl 7 mag) (lvl 5 Spiral x 3) (lvl 5 Piñata x4) (lvl 6 Taran x 2) (lvl 5 Thunder)

Ha, we are similiar in: (Me)
WS - 16k
Au - 450
Ws - I keep hearing +/- on Carnage - tricky to be effective & its a (glass cannon). Not common in top tier play. My WS is just collecting for now.
Im assuming you have plenty silver to repurchase bots. Thats what I did. You have a good selection of weapons to fill a med tier. Good summation 1-5.
I would not repuchase heavys yet. Many have said & I agree its good to have a 2nd/3rd tier to play: Useful
* gold farming
* leveling new weapons / bots before moving it into upper tier
* variety
What weapons / style do you like to play? Now is the time to find out!
Most med bots have an equivalent in higher tiers.
I leveled all med bots to 4 & weapons to 7 before moving up into the heavys again. Most all bots go level 1-3 pretty quick.
*Low level heavy hanger? - Ag heavys start at level 6 - Griffin, & Leo. You are not really gaining any performance advantage. Current MM system takes:
Highest lvl bot × Highest Weight x Weapons
*Weapons, you can level most all your weapons into gold tier, exception on the Molots & any Punishers. I did both to level 7 and becomes increasingly ineffective with distance - at their range limit do have near their damage rating** other weapons damage is consistent entire range.
Get at least 1 good beacon capper -
Top Capper is always 5 Au/battle
Cossack/Taran - also good practice for Griffin later (I'm currently running 3!) Gep - Mag/Pinata
Shuzte - Thunder

Regarding Carnage: great bot, but unless you are going the play up a level, it won't be useful to you any time soon, die to its MM penalty.
Regarding your hangar: You need to get at least 1 more Taran and put them all on those bots. Your Boa would be so much better off with a Taran than that Tulu. You ranges aren't working together. Same thing on that Thunder/pin Leo. When your pins are firing, the Thunder isn't hitting anything. Put some Pinatas or mags on it.
Regarding Henry: Good movie. Harrison Ford had good acting chops.

In your current tier, you can actually upgrade your Boa to L6 and your weps to 9..... but do that later. The investment in medium bots will pay off in terms farming. Whenever you need Au / Ag , just change your setup to medium bots L4-9 and I'm sure you'll land either on top or top 3! My recommendation based on your inventory: I would prioritize on upgrading weps evenly until they reach L9, then upgrade bots to L4. Final setup should look like: Gepard L2 - Magnums 9/9/9 ( note: Geps lose weapons when damaged at L4 so I leave mine at L2 ) Gepard L2 - Pinata 9/9/9 ( Instead of Geps, you can also buy 2 Pattons instead for a Mag-Patton and Pinata Patton ) Boa L4 - Thunder-Taran 9/9 Golem L4 - Thunder-Taran-Magnum 9/9/9 Vityaz L4 - Trident-Crv Pins 9/9/9 If you feel like playing gold, then just switch to L7 bots and transfer your L9 weps |

Last weekend, I bought my fourth slot. Since then, I farm with light bots. Tomorrow, I will have enough gold for my First Gepard. Farming in lower tiers is great. And your teammates are thankful.

This is pretty much what I've been doing since I hit the same wall. Had a l6 griff w l5/6 guns as strongest bot. A few months later, and now I have 3 heavies at 6/8 and I'm working on getting 2 mediums up to 9/10. My heavies are useful now as long as the MM doesn't screw me. |
