After being frustrated with MA (and a break of 2 months or so from the game) I started a new smurf account. Yes, the AI is dumb, but there is something to get a godlike with a stock Killshot with JR4... So far 20 wins out of 22 battles. Evil me, my name is one of the 500 infamous bot names - I might surprise a few low-skill whales looking for the easy kill...
I guess the biggest issue is to avoid the inevitable power gap to big spenders that will open up in some games. As MM is XP based, the trick is to avoid getting too much XPs quickly. Cash generation does not keep up with XPs especially if you play tournaments. I plan to play only a small number of games, just enough to complete all my tasks (daily/weekly and events) -- this should give me enough cash to use the blueprints I get. A hangar of KS, Panther, MD, Jug and either Arachnos, Lancer or Paragon should do decently and represents a nice change from my regular hangar (KS and Panther as well, they are my favorites -- but my regular hangar uses Zephyr, Ares and Guardian). Let's see how long the fun lasts

Dang, should have told me you were gonna start a smurf! I would have insisted you use my link so that we both get rewards and then I just need 2 more referrals to get the Cryo Javelin Rack 6!

I’ve done a few smurfs, and it’s cool for a bit, knowing now what you didn’t know then, but it doesn’t last. I found in very short order that AI begins completely manipulating games. The more you play, the more it manipulates, between the level of opponents gear and their aggression (or lack thereof in the case of blue teammates). I ended up just going back to my original account - still the same garbage that frosted my cookies before, but at least I had a halfway decent hangar to cuss at. But once again I’m finding myself reaching that breaking point.

It doesn't matter. It's fun as long as it's fun, and if it isn't anymore then I'll delete the account.

It's highly unlikely that I make it to div 1. But for what it's worth, I used my own referral link of course

I'm smurfing in a sense. Unless I'm in a tournament match, I'm running bots with the specific intent of completing individual bot tasks. Surprisingly, while I might lose the battle, I've managed to do quite well in the task department.

I just started a Smurf on my wife's phone...with my referral of course. Just make sure that phone never had Mech Arena installed on it before. The rules for getting that special Jav6 are very strict. Must be on virgin devices as they check the device ID.

Well, my wife's iPhone worked and her "progress" is showing up in my Referrals. I just bought her her first Android tablet, so that should work too. She's trying to buy me one too - even though I keep saying I don't need one - and that could be my third. Just gotta think this through.
Oh, and did you guys notice that the JR8 picture is gone and in it's place is the Cry JR6?

After testing the cryo javs on their test server, I had fun and I may slowly get them. I'm not gonna go crazy with alts, but its relatively easy with a computer and bluestacks to get it to work IMO. Bluestacks 5 lets you use multi-instance stuff too so you can even do them simultaneously. Not too bad.

Too much learning new things for me on the computer though. I tried MA once and it was just too weird. Oh well, I'll eventually get it with alt accounts or it'll eventually become regularly available. I'm not too fussed cause even if I get it now, it won't be leveled nearly enough to be of regular use.

Let's see how long the fun lasts Don't upgrade anything unless it's for completing event tasks. Just keep "upgrading" items by replacing them with higher ranked items in a small(3-4 mech) hangar. With the new EN totals, most 8 en and all 6 en and below weapons are useless without light mechs during the endgame. All the coins/credits spent on upping weaker items add up to the same costs as the items that come R4-5 out of the box. Unless there is an event with CPC tasks, run 2v2 deathmatch for dailies. Less tokens, but less exp, and crates are trash anyway if you're just buying the next rank item instead of leveling up.

Oh, this is good. Thanks Redfiend. Didn’t think about using 2v2 on an alt to limit my xp gains. With mm being xp based this makes sense.

Oh, this is good. Thanks Redfiend. Didn’t think about using 2v2 on an alt to limit my xp gains. With mm being xp based this makes sense. Like I said, it's only really useful if you're not upgrading anything outside of tasks. The numbers really don't favor upgrading anything until at least all of the R5 weapons are obtained and duplicated. Resources have become too bottlenecked for newer folks to spend thousands of coins and hundreds of thousands of credits before obtaining the highest grade stuff in the game. High rank items are actually priced according to base upgrade and EN capacity/consumption. For instance, while pulse 8 is actually better than Carb 8 in many situations, the 3750 coins and about 300k credits it takes to get Pulse 8 to R5 really aren't worth the hassle when resources are tight, that 300k can go to MR8, Stasis 16, Arc 6, Zephyr, or Brickhouse, and that chunk of coins is direly needed for end game items. The currency may not look like it adds up, until you factor in the utter slog/expenses that blueprint accrual consists of.
