Now that it has been a few months...
Dual RG is still the. worst. idea. Ever.
I have barely used it, even though I can. Playing with or against people that use that build is just not fun. I don't blame the folk who do... but it's just not fun. At all. Definitely means I am VERY limited in what I can play when running with/against them, if they are using duals. Especially if they only have "off" and "11" for options regarding how hard they play.
Single RG builds are good enough... dual is just an easy button. "Press here to win."
UGH.

It can be but misses with the weapon hurt and a guardian blast really hurts. I do pretty much have to run a Panther dual RG16 for many tournament maps to get the needed points though.

Yeah, I agree. LA10+RG16 is close when the overheat effect takes hold but it'a not an automatic one-shot kill except maybe on the light bots. That said, I can beat dual RGs - although it's hard against some of the most frequent players. And I feel like some players have gotten bored with them and stopped automatically dropping them in tournament, holding them in reserve or such. I am kind of interested in that when I finally can run duals myself. Right now I feel like I almost always have to equip and use my single build RGs if I want to earn enough A-Coins. Once I park both on the same bot, I'll feel a bit freer to experiment with other builds and and know I can switch to the painbringer if I need it. Personally, I hate 2xRM12 Killshots, and frankly all the 2xRM12 builds more. They just hang in the back. The Killshots usually at least move around (but they're impossible to kill). Worse to face but less contemptible than the players who just hide behind a wall all game. What's the point of playing a game when you spend all of it barely moving? Oh wait, I know...

I hate DRG16 builds too, but I'm looking forward to running dual SB16. It'll be like an almost instant freeze.

Dual RM12s are by far the most annoying. Especially if the player just spams death from the back of the field.
At least RGs require LoS and a steady aim. I can appreciate the skill involved.

Agree with the OP and the sentiment that RGs and RM12 lower the fun.
My satisfaction with the game has fallen considerably. Before the increase in bot EN that allowed these OP builds I was able to hang with players and matches were tight and competitive. Not anymore. If human players are involved I usually lose big time. And MM gives me tourney matches on my lonesome against 2-3 humans, sometimes more.
I haven’t paid a cent since Labor Day. MA isn’t as bad as War Robots but I really wish games could figure out how to make money besides the chase-the-meta model.

Even the most lopsided matches are over in a few minutes unlike 10 minutes in War Robots.

Plarium can call it "Balancing the Game", but 32 energy was a mistake. DRG is as close to OP as any build out there. If the developers wanted to increase the energy they should have capped it at 30. I get why so many are running this set-up....it works and it dominates. I actually reinstalled RM12 on a mech to try and counter this. It helps, but neither Rocket Mortars nor Railgun are my playing style....but at least the RMs are softening the reds up some to make it easier for teammates to finish them off

The only viable counter against the DRG build is non LOS weapons. I do well with JR6 but have trouble against Panthers. RM12 has limited success though. That's why I want the Cryo JR6 so much. I want another JR6 build in my active hangar to counter the DRG mechs.

These cryro 6's are tempting but it looks like you need to invite 3 people, who make it to division 3 I think just to unlock them. With the current mechs, Im having trouble investing in weapons under 10 energy. |

I got dual RG16 on max Panther in self defense. I faced So many reds with duals. Entire teams sometimes. And now I get 80 to 100 more points per tdm on average. It can get dull after awhile, but then I play cpc or try different builds. Plus there's events and achievements. Its really the same old issue, too many whales maxing Everything as soon as they buy it. I'm just a dolphin or tuna. 😜

I'd been saving it for DL12, but now I don't know if it's worth it. I have enough decently leveled high EN weapons that DL12 wouldn't make much difference to my game play.

Every time I turn this 「fluffernutter」ing thing on I spend the whole time cussing at it. So - deleted. Again. For the last time. I've about had it with all these greedy-azz developers. I just cannot relax at all playing that game any more. My wife is about to put me out in the doghouse. I’ve got a couple of sim kinda games I’ve been wasting time with - just go at your own pace. Spend a little money if you see something cool to support the devs, or don’t. They push it a little far with the ads, basically double rewards for almost every task for watching them, but you can always choose not to and still get where you’re going, it just takes a little longer. And they do have competitive events to make it interesting. Boring crap seems to be more my pace these days. |

I don't rant about the game anymore,I know where the game is heading and it just depends how much more fun I can get before I find it impossible to play,six months ?,a year ?,who knows.I accept the rough pattern of win five lose five,I accept that any human participation in the game has little control over the outcome,that is decided by which side gets the terminator AI and which gets the powder puff AI (usually decided by my previous mention of how far into your win five you are),and I accept the MM is pretty screwed up and is happy to drop you solo against a full high power clan.
I'm at around an hour playing time a day,complete my dailys and have a decent go at any events ongoing,any silly requirements like upgrade a mech or weapon five times just doesn't get done.I rarely play tournament because that 「dookie」storm has been broken since the game started and the developers don't seem interested in fixing whats wrong and making it fairer for the global players.
And of course I no longer spend anything on the game,I happily spent regularly during the beta phase and so luckily I'm happy where my hanger is,but I'm not going to invest heavily in a game I'm not sure how long I will be playing,I made that mistake with War Robots and I still regret it years later.
One plus I always had with this game was everything was more or less level between bots and weapons,most items were map dependent and your style of play,I will be watching out for the new MR 12's with a cautious eye,this will be the first new item that looking at the stats could possibly tip the scale into P2W and if what I have seen on YT are anything to go by.Time will tell.

Yeah, I'm just patiently hoarding resources again. Seems that's the only way I can max my mechs now. I can't and won't grind. I play for fun, do my dailies and that's it. I play TDM only to try to stay in Novice for the free tokens and maybe play a bit when the tasks call for it.
