OK, so I got Guardian later than most, so maybe this has already been dissected at length in some old thread, but what the flip is the deal with its ability??? I mean it's supposed to be 30m right? Cuz, it never is. With Zephyr, if you see the distance read 30m and you hit the ability button, bang, boom, frozen. Every single time, like clockwork. With Guardian, it never works at 30m. And I just hit it at 29m and nothing, nada, zippo, zilch. I realize it moves slower than Zepho, and against a fast bot maybe they moved a meter or two back before the ability registered or something, but I am getting tired of shooting blanks here. What distance do you guys wait for to use it? Any tips?

the zephyr ability animation definitely happens a lot faster than the guardian nerf, that's always been my guess as to why

Server lag could be another reason. The red moved away from the ability effect area before it registered in the app. Same reason why you may get sniped behind cover though it looks like the shot went past you. Just a guess.

So are you guys saying you've seen it work at 30m? Because I never have and I've had my Guardian for months now. I have seen it fail tons and tons of times at 30m though. Last night I had a bot just standing at exactly 30m and I hit the ability to no effect. Kept standing there for 1-2 seconds and I never saw the icon above him appear before he died.

Happened to me more than once. And these were bots running towards me.  Nowadays I wait for 29 going 28 or better.  |

Well, the system crash works up to about 50m for the red AI’s. That extra distance has to come from somewhere. 🤣

It does seem to have a delay before it kicks in, depending on the number of bots involved.
Then again, I often forget Guardian has an ability.

Couple of things about the System Crash. It's in a forward arc and there's a chance to miss, unlike the Zep's EMP where it has no chance to miss due to it being a full circle. Another thing, your distance thing might be a bit laggy. I've hit reds at 30m and I've missed them at 30m due to them moving out of range. I've even hit at 31m too and missed at that range.

OK so consensus is that it I am having lag issues and while it is wise to wait for 28-29m, I should have it work at 30m at least sometimes. Good to know, thanks. I've been wondering if I have been dealing with worse lag than others and I think this clinches it. I already knew my modem needs to be replaced, think I have to get on that finally..

That helped me some. - I agree with this ^ However, if you are running on an older cable modem on a modern high speed cable network, then go ahead and look into it if you haven’t. The amount of “channels” for up and down data are greater in number on newer modems and can REALLY increase performance over older tech. Check the specs for “upstream” and “downstream” channels for your current model, then compare it to whichever one you are looking at replacing it with. You might have 1Gbps possible speeds from your ISP, but if you don’t have enough channels you won’t be utilizing anywhere near all of it. As a general rule, 24 x 8 (Downstream | Upstream) will utilize 1Gbps… anything less and you are taking a cut. Fiber is a bit different, though… if you aren’t getting what you are supposed to then I would be cussing up a storm to their support. |

Anyone ever get the glitch when Guardian's ability turns into purple stars? This glitch also affects Brickhouse and likely MD's ability (though I haven't seen it on the MD), where Brickhouse's Overcharge turns into a purple circle bath.

What distance do you guys wait for to use it? Any tips? I have always felt that the reds were moving away from me just as im about to zap them with my Guardian...especially when they are ai. This is one of the reasons I parked him and kept the Zephyr. The 360 degree zeff and speed just fit me better and the reds were not out maneuvering me right before my ability kicked in. |
