start it later at night, as late as you possibly can. no need to play so much, just at the right time.

start it later at night, as late as you possibly can. no need to play so much, just at the right time. I find later night battles to be filled with high level competition which results in lower scores per round. I would end up on a card with newbies who can kill other newbies and low level Ai with more points per round. The one where I won with only 6,900 points was actually started earlier than the one with a 12,000 score. No specific strategy works that I have found so far with start times. Presently, I try to get an extra early start on them if I can if I have the time since I can usually get many Ai battles and score highly each round. Then, if I can get a high score early, the separation can dissuade the others on the card from trying to win. Unfortunately on the one I lost, I knew that guy had once gotten over 20,000 in a round but I thought I was safe being over 2000 over 2nd place with an 1 1/2 hours to go. I was wrong. It is not fair that us in North America have these tournaments end between like 10:30 PM to early morning while Indian players are ending late morning like 11 AM.

Agreed.
I was told by the idiots on Discord that there was no viable issue with the start times. “There is plenty of time for everyone” while dismissing the same point you made when I brought it up. They are oblivious.
What I have found that tends to lead to low scoring 1st place winners, is starting between 6 - 7 AM CST with one game… then playing later on in the day, whenever I get a chance. If I only get a 1000… 9/10 times I am still in top 5. I can’t remember the last time I saw a score higher than 3k. The caveat is that on the weekends this isn’t as true and it’s more of a crapshoot… but from Tuesday to Friday, that start time ensures that I get pretty decent placement as long as I can play about 5 - 10 games.
Might be worth a shot if you haven’t tried that early before.

I still can't see images but if its about start times. I found the best scores I ever got were between 13:00 - 15:00 EST. 6/10 times i'd be matched against bots only. 2/10 with one human on each side and Red human has lower PL -300. 2/10 with the other player having wildly higher PL +1500. But that was on a weeknight though.

No it’s not fair for North American players. I just can’t stay up most nights. Who can ?
I agree with what has been said about an early start. It work sometimes but it’s no magic bullet.

Here in the UK tournament ends at 06.30,so my option is get up at 05.30 and play the last hour.....never gonna happen. So I play around 15 tourney matches and whatever score I get is what I go with as I am usually bored with the map and game by then.Last week I finished with around 3,500 score and top spot, next morning someone with an SP of 500 had taken top spot from me. Tournament is ill conceived and badly thought out and favours players in a certain time zone,I can't take it seriously and most weeks play a few seconds a day to register myself and take the two keys and 1000 credits daily. That is of course till Plarium decide they are being too generous and nerf that too.

How many Battles are you guys averaging to get top spot for GM?
I usually average in the 80-90 per tournament and never placed 1st in GM. I've seen a player here in the forum that does around 60 battles but has consistently placed 1st for at least the past months.

Lately I find Grandmaster is impossible to win and very frustrating to play. It is a waste of keys in half the matches. I get tromped by non-clan Clans with over 4500 SP each or newbies with 500 SP who get 350 points a match. I often get 0 to 25 points. So I gave up on fighting for high positions in Tourney on Sundays. If I get top 10 that's fine. I have around 3400 SP btw.

India Standard Time which covers the whole country is 12:30 hours ahead of Pacific Daylight Time so this equates to 4:30 PM IST. I've tried later when they should be in bed but then get other new players with one who likes to put in over 200 rounds per week average! If grandmaster is a problem to compete in, then I like the idea of going for winning the first three days of tournament. Yeah, the payouts are low but still give good key payouts that in turn give me good credit and A-coin payouts.

It’s enough for me since I don’t have time to out marathon folk on GM day. Is what it is… but it’s better than nothing with very little actual grinding. It’s super easy if I get on a squad run to just knock out several games in a row. I won’t score as high, but in a squad it’s more fun so I don’t even notice how many I’ve played. Ends up about the same as running about half as many, solo. It’s cool either way… not at all competitive in this game when by myself, and in squad I just care about the W, not score.

Usually I'll play the first two maps, sit it out on the third day (to stay in the same bracket), then try to win the next two (for 200 & 400 AC respectively). I might try to win some A-Coins in Grandmaster but it's rare I go for first place. Unless it's a the heat with Agora and Hanging Gardens which favor sniping - then I tend to go all out.
Main thing is I find holding over one bracket often helps reduce the pressure a bit. The first two days aren't usually that bad, but after that if I keep just charging on up to Grandmaster then the high scores are usually 2,000 or more points than if I take a rest day.
Generally I start between 6-9am PST with variable results, but the matches aren't as stressful as towards the end of day, that's for sure.
