I wanted and had planned to get the DL12 and 16. As the event started, I was prepared to actually wade into the event and test my luck and at some point, realized I was just going to get it. That said, it left a very bad taste in my mouth. I noticed that there was no luck involved and there didn't even appear to be any true statistical chance that I would get items "out of order". I paid attention before each spin on what was the next most likely (based on % chance) item to get and it occurred EVERY TIME. Like not one variation. I heard of people in the DL8 event that got the main prize before getting to the end. I haven't heard of it yet for this one. I think they ended up skewing the odds SO much that the outcome was practically inevitable. This would have the result of driving more and more people to get more tickets over all and spend more...in the short term at least.
Regardless, I have the weapon and all the resources that came with the event so its not like I didn't get stuff for my money. But I am not going to be spending for a while. Besides the coin spent being beyond what I usually want to spend, company antics like this make me angry. I wouldn't have spent the money if I wasn't willing to, but I just don't like how it went down. (Happy early Christmas to me!)
P.S. I don't need admonitions. I'm aware of what this looks like and of all possible results. I have been playing War Robots since 2015 and have made my mistakes before. lol. Just sharing my experiences for the benefit of others.

I did the same thing. Wanted to get a feel for how the GACHA-esque mechanism worked since I haven't before...
Straight up... nothing was obtained in anything but the order for which the odds said it should be. Best odds items, I received first, least odds, last. No real chance involved. Oh and I know a few folk got the DL 8 out of order... but they definitely lowered the odds on the DL 12. I think it was only .3% or something silly for the launcher this time... while it was a bit more for the DL 8.
I, like you, was also left with the feeling that they are no different from any other Mobile Game Company... greed being the motivating factor for all that they do.
At least this time, we could have gotten the "buy it now" package for cheaper, during the event, which they didn't do for the DL 8... so there's that. But, even then, when they did offer the 8 the next week, I had a 69.99 price tag and I saw others with a combo deal of DL 8 + resources for 49.99. That doesn't make me feel warm and fuzzy, either. I hate, nay, LOATHE targeted offers like that.
I can't say I won't drop for the MR 12 or DL 16... but I am MUCH less inclined to. Even then, I have an apple gift card, standing by... otherwise it would be a hard 'no', already. When it comes to real money, I can wait till it's in the progress path. I have supported them enough, I believe.

Well, thanks to both of your experiences, I will NOT be buying those tokens now. I'm still happy with what I have - except when I run into DRG16 wielders of course. I think one of the things holding me back is that I want to try the DL8 on my Shadow (dual wield), which means I'd have to max my Shadow first and I'm not even close to doing that. Would love to try it on the KS too though...hmm....nah....

I had suspicions from what others have said that this was the case... but first hand exp is always better to base advice on.
And DL 12s are really good on KS. 8s would be less so... but still not a waste. IMO.

Shoot, I’m waiting for everything. What little temptation I had for the DL16 has been cleansed. I watched a video from Mayer, I think it was him, and he got on his last pull. Lol. That’s rough man , rough.
I want the MR12 and DL16 , I’ll just save and be ready when they drop. Sadly, I know it may be after the first of the year at this rate. Silly rabbit , tricks are for kids.
