So I've decided that my 5th mech would be Zephyr. Now that I'm starting to R5 my mechs I think it's time to get a 5th mech for that extra versatility.
Before the update, Im sure about working to a 2xAT10 Zephyr but now that MR12 is around the corner I'm debating once again.
As many of you now know I'm F2P so I'm limited in resources. Zephyr will be use as an ambush mech on very tigh maps with many corners.

Depending on the type of opponents you face, the best weapon set varies.
When I first started with Zep, I did the MR8 thing and it worked great against light mechs and not as great against tanks. As the game progressed, it became less and less effective against tanks. I switched to single RG16 for a while and had some fun there, but again, not so great against healthy tanks. I even tried some sustained damage types of builds, including CB12/TL6 when I ranked it up to 18EN. This build offered more versatility but still not that great against tanks.
If you're the type to lone wolf it, the Zep is a great small mech or low HP mech hunter. Not that great against healthy mechs with large HP pools. I'm sure dual AT10 will melt most things, but for me, I can't get past the ultra short range - its basically like bringing a taser to a gun fight. Great if you're good at it, but not so good if you're still feeling things out or prefer longer range engagements.
If they do come out with the MR12 - and we have no idea if they will as the pics we have might just be early concept pics - then yes, the Zep will be amazing. But, if you're gonna run Zep, I'd suggest aiming for 1st Gen Thanos with LA8/RG16, or MR8/RG16 as your maxed build. Until you max it, do dual MR8 for high DPS build and go carbines if you want a more versatile one. Or, think outside the box and do something like MR8/JR6. I've always wanted to try this but the problem is that both weapons have long reloads, so once you fire both, you're sunk until you get back into cover.

What is the max EN of Zephyr and is there a current updated database of MA stats, costs etc?

But Zep is 20EN at 6.1* and maxes out at 24 EN when 7*

My favorite 6* Zep builds are: Arc 10 + MR 8 : More Bursty and pretty dependent on the ability to use properly (unless you are good at hitting folk at mid ranged distances with the MR.) Great for choke-point killing, both weapons have splash(-ish) capabilities and you can get multikills with little effort in the right spots on the right maps. Arc 10 + CB 10 : Versatile... can still kill up close but can also effectively suppress/harass out to 60M, longer to some degree. Reload down-time is better with this one, most times you will always have something firing. Both work very well if the map is friendly to Zep play, in general. Carb build is better for CPC... unless you use it to drop in on hot-zone beacons, then the MR 8 build is better. *Use the terrain to ambush your target(s). *Corner shoot your second weapon when ambushing isn't going to happen... don't try to go toe to toe if you can't EMP them or use cover. *Try to be reloaded fully before beginning an attack, even if you are using the ability to ambush... getting an almost kill won't mean crap to you if you run out of ammo in the mag before they get free from the EMP.
*Try to set up the Ambush so that when you EMP them and step out of cover, you are shooting their sides or rear. Get the most out of your weapons as you can.

It's too tempting not to. For now though, since they fixed the Arc Torrent bug, it's still the closest thing to a Death Button set-up I have. I haven't found a mech I can't take down in a solid ambush. I'm not sure I've gone against any of the maxed tanks yet, but I'd love to see what it can do. That said, it's all or nothing. Outside of range, you're toast. Gotta learn to live that ninja life style for sure!

I think AT-10s are made for Zep. My Zep is only R4 and the best 6en weapon I've found to pair with the AT-10 is the Plasma Cannon.

Dual AT10 against tanks be like: I really want to try it out on a maxed, full health, shielded Jugg or Ares to see if I can take it out in 1 EMP cycle. You got to get in close and commit though. No max range shocking bull「dookie」. You got to get in close...close enough to smell what weight of gear oil it uses and what the pilot had for breakfast!

That should be similar in damage to running an AT-10 and an AT-6 together. I need to look at the stats for the plasma cannon 6 though. I'm curious...

If you empty your clip into a maxed ares from the back, it'll be enough to kill it before the EMP wears off. if it's a jugg, it would be just a bit longer, but still before it wears off

I have no hard evidence that AT10/MR8 is the best loadout but if you only have 1 AT10, give it a shot. I'm causing a lot of damage, and having a blast Z「neat-o」 reds and looking them in the eye and unloading pain on them.

It'll kill an ares though, it's ~39k more damage than needed

Just looked up a Single Arc10 max damage in the spreadsheet above and the damage was 38,200 total. That's 76,400 with 2 of them. From behind, the damage increase is double, so, 152,800...pretty much!

Alright just got me an AT10 and slapped it on my Zeph for a few games. It's only at 4.1 but definitely seems like a fun (and nasty) little piece of gear. But from one of my games I was wondering:
Can an ArcTorrent hit a Shadow while it's in stealth?
Had a Shadow dancing in front of me and the animation was like it wasn't hitting him. Guessing that I judged the distance wrong but was wondering if maybe ATs just don't connect to stealthed targets...

I hate those little buggers!
