Doesn't it always give skin as final reward? Today it gives 300 a coins. Change for the better?

2 rank improvements is impossible, so it's essentially 300 A-coins for a purchase. Almost Pixo style.

Yeah, I didn't mind the purchase personally as I'm ok with the $8 purchase. 2.01 is here so I'm hoping my banked Acoins come in handy now.

2 rank improvements is impossible, so it's essentially 300 A-coins for a purchase. Almost Pixo style. I think that one is meant for folk who haven't leveled their Guardian. You don't have to complete that task to finish the event... but if not then, yeah, the purchase task has to be completed. I don't like that format... events should be grindable for anyone as long as the prizes are so lackluster. My Guardian can only go up one more level, so I can't even get a rank.
I got my normal prodigy crate + Acoins for 5 $ though, and that took care of the purchase task. There was also a 99 cent deal for PC 2, since I don't have that yet, that I could have done...

While 300 A-coins sounds tempting, I'm not committed to Guardian being my steady 5th slot bot, so I'm not willing to spend resources to upgrade him just yet. When I play he is almost always the 5th bot i would drop....If I actually need 5.
Current top 4, in no particular order
Killshot
Zephyr
Panther
Ares
Guardian is a placeholder for now to see what i want to do. 3 things i have considered
Upgrade MD
Buy Brickhouse
Upgrade Guardian.

While 300 A-coins sounds tempting, I'm not committed to Guardian being my steady 5th slot bot, so I'm not willing to spend resources to upgrade him just yet. When I play he is almost always the 5th bot i would drop....If I actually need 5. I have been toying with the idea of a 6-1 MD back before they took our cloned Mech's. With my Killshot and Panther at 6-2, I am focusing on gettong my Ares(5-5)and Zephyr(5-3) up over 6 for now.MD has long road ahead of him if i go that route. |

I held off of getting a Guardian for forever and I minimized playing it because I prefer faster bots. But now that we've lost copies and I levelled mine past 6.1 it has pretty quickly become not just my steady 5th bot but almost always the 2nd one I drop in tournaments on almost every map. The firepower difference between it an a Zeph or Ares is just too great, and its ability is almost as nasty as Zeph's on small maps. And I think it is probably best bot for breaking up multi-bot rank charges because when you drop their shields the AI starts to scatter and retreat so you don't have to backpedal while picking them off. My MD is still pretty low-level and I don't have a BH but I'd definitely recommend levelling your Guardian before the other two. Just my opinion, but I am lukewarm on playing tanks at all and yet still... |

I actually shelved my Guardian for a while after I got the Zep...but now, it's my Zep that is shelved and my Guardian that I used regularly.

My personal feelings are that the Guardian is the safest bet. It's a workhorse and has a good mix of strengths and weaknesses... one of my top 3 mechs without doubt. I have MD at 6.1 and still chose my Guardian to be my second maxed bot... my Guardian is sitting at 6.6 and I will probably rush it if I don't have enough BPs by the time all the new weapons are released. I am saving up resources for Missile Rack 12 atm. That is my only goal unless I get a 100$ gift card by some miraculous movement of the universe. That said... MD is a good mech and I want to max it, too. EN 16 would rock with that mech... either full on Sniper, Jav 8s, or MR 8s are in its future. I also want a BH... and it would probably make as big as, if not more so, of an impact on a team than MD. Depending on the mode, the map, and the team, though. It's close enough that either will add to enjoyment of both team play and the viability of your hangar, just in different ways. All 3 can change the course of a match and have major benefits for Team Play. However, MD is probably last in solo benefits... with Guardian and BH being neck and neck.
IMO, YMMV

A human piloted MD should almost always get the gold medal for healing in a round for sure. Just do not think it has benefits for Tournament and its rank up A-coin cost is just too high.
