Cross-posting here from the Weapons wiki page. Does anybody know who created the " All you need to know about Walking War Robots weapons" spreadsheet with DPS and DPM calculations? I was kinda thinking of trying to create graphs of the various weapons DPM per level, but I see some discrepancies that I would like to resolve. Since the spreadsheet doesn't have formulas, I can't figure out where the error is. For example, for AT Spiral, I've got 750 damage (dmg) per shot in L1, 3 rounds (r) per s (not counting reload), 3 r per cycle, 12 s for reloading. This gets a full cycle time of (3 rps / 3 r/cycle) + 12 s reload = 13 s/cycle This gets damage per cycle for L1 at 750 dmg/shot * 3 shots/cycle = 2,250 dmg/cycle. Damage per minute (DPM) taking reload time into account would then be (2,250 dmg/cycle / 13 s/cycle) * 60 s/min = 10,384.6 dmg/min. The sheet, however, says it has a L1 DPM of 10,395 dmg/min. Can anyone spot the source of this discrepancy? Here's my spreadsheet calculations so far (just 11 weapons so far). Every single DPM result is different (Thunder, Tulus, and Mags by quite a bit). Most of the DPS results match, with Spiral, Pin, Magnum, Tulus, and Tarans being different. Much appreciated, thank you!

Okay, thanks. Alas, that page also does not show formulas/calculations, and it lists a third set of numbers. For example, " Weapon_DPM_and_Best_Bot_Setups" lists SURA-F Pinatas as having a DPM of 91,328. The spreadsheet linked from the Weapons page lists it as 82,424 (cell E4). By my calculations, it should be 82,525 (cell BV6). Here's how I get my numbers. cycle time = 15 s to reload + (16 rounds per cycle / 10 rps) = 15 s + 1.6 s = 16.6 s damage (dmg) per cycle = 1,427 dmg per round * 16 rounds per cycle = 22,832 dmg DPM = (22,832 dmg / 16.6 s) * 60 s/min = 1,375.42 dmg/s * 60 s/min = 82,525 dmg/min The cycle time matches the Weapons page's sheet, in cell H12. The dmg per cycle number matches the number listed for "Damage per long knife fight", cell F10, but I think this is a bit coincidental because Pinatas happen to be a weapon that will get out a single volley in 10 seconds. The DPM numbers do not match, as I mentioned, as cell E10 says 82,424. Does anybody know how 91,328 or 82,424 were arrived at, or who I should ask to find out?

FWIW, awhile back I created a line graph of Orkan vs Taran vs Tulumbas. It was pretty useless. It doesn't really tell you anything you already didn't know.
The calculations I find interesting is when you compare damage per volley, DPS and DPM across different bot/wep configurations for a given role and slot in your hanger. For example, how does a Trident Fury compare to a Zeus Fury? Or a Trident CRV Natasha? Or how does RDB Griffin compare to Trident Carnage?
But again, running this for brawlers is more difficult and less meaningful when comparing Tarans to Orkans to Thunders.
So I guess what I really wanted to say was, it will probably be a waste of time.

So I guess what I really wanted to say was, it will probably be a waste of time. I was thinking that a graph of DPM (and damage per volley) would illustrate the relative strengths of each weapon much more clearly than a table or a bunch of text, so it would be nice to have on the wiki. Like those setup DPM calculations, this requires knowing accurate numbers for DPM. Maybe I should just finish up my own calculations and then create a new page with them. I'm not sure how to do that, but it can't be too hard...

I've added a draft of a DPM page at the Wiki with the graphs showing my calculations, which still differ from those from the Weapons page. Comments and edits more than welcome, of course! When it gets more finalized, I plan to start creating links to it from elsewhere.
