The single most annoying task for me and my Shotgun Shadow. With a 40m range, anything coming at me with weapons blazing while I'm on the beacon should earn me credit if I kill it. So what are the official rules for this task? 🤔

IKR? I don’t get some of the feats and hope MA considers changing them soon. There’s a couple that require using autocannons too that bug me.
I enjoy the ideas behind the Feats feature but wish some of them made more practical sense to the player base.

I've been using them for the assist task as my JR's tend to kill everything. So far it's worked out pretty well. The Paragon beacon protector task ain't gonna happen though.

So what are the official rules for this task? 🤔 You have to kill the enemy mech with the specified weapon in the 5 seconds they're standing on your beacon, before it gets neutralized. Once it's neutralized and turns pink to signal they're turning it red, it no longer counts. If they step off of the control point right before they pop, it no longer counts.

Paragon is the most difficult mech to get the Gold Futurist skin for in the game. It has the beacon defender (900 mechs total) task for AUTOCANNONS.

Yeah, I saw that, but like the OP, I didn't know the details as to how to accomplish it... that's just... No. I don't even have ACs of any EN cost at usable levels... no way in Hell I'm going to sink anything into that unless everything else I need/want leveled, is done.
Digression... I really like ACs and wish there was a viable EN version. EN 6, 8, and/or 10 versions would add some variety and give some alternatives to endgame hangars. I would totally use them over PCs just because I like the weapon, aesthetically. But, no... disc launchers are on our menu for the future. While I think they will have their place and may be fun, I have always wondered why they didn't make an endgame AC variant.

The problem there is that ACs, for their EN cost, are just Pulse cannons with a different Rank up bonus. AC4 at max does 15,480, while Pulse 4 does 15,660. The Pulse cannons ARE endgame autos, but since they don't share the same name, they don't count Auto 4s at R5 have 90 ammo like Pulse, 15M less "optimal range", 30M more "Max Range", and have a full 1.4 seconds longer reload. There are a lot of weapons I'd do differently if I made my own game. Autocannon is one of them. Assault: Auto 2, 6, 8 Plasma 4, 6, 10 Pulse 8, 10, 12 Carbine 10, 16 Rockets: RPG 2, 4, 8 Missile Rack 6, 8, 10 Laser: Thermal lance 4, 6, 8 Stasis 10, 12, 16 CQC: Shotgun 2, 4, 8 Arc Torrent 6, 10, 12 Sniper: Long Arm 8, 10, 12 Railgun 10, 16 Homing: Javelin 4, 6, 8 Artillery: Mortar 10, 12, 16 That way all of the mixed loadouts with weapons that function at similar ranges are viable. It would also force some of the max EN setups to run mismatched weapons for the ranges that don't have built in disadvantages. If they run matched weapons, they'll lose out on filling their total EN, and thus, their highest damage potential. That way symmetrical builds have an obvious weakness, or reduce the mechs total possible DPS, and asymmetrical builds for max possible DPS at multiple ranges are encouraged.

For your scheme, which I like, I would like to throw in the cutoff for copies being at 12, and let 16s be one-offs.
And I get what you are saying about PCs vs ACs, but damnit, the AC sounds and looks more like a damn machine gun. I want that in my life.

I don't see a reason 16's shouldn't be 2 ofs, considering they'd have to be run on multiple mechs with the max EN remaining at 24. The problem with MA goes back to what I said in the Rocket Mortar thread. The game is rock/paper/scissors, but human players are used to rock being sufficient in every battle. When they encounter actual counters to the solo playstyle. they're hung up to dry. If it hard counters the first time, it hard counters the second time. The AI killshots are fun to kill with Stasis, because I can wipe all 5 AI's killshots with Paragon alone. Human players have to be at max rank with their killy and their weapons to kill my R5 Paragon with R4 weapons. There are other changes I would make to mechs as well: -Surge and Killshot would swap health. -Redox would have Paragon's health pool. -Lancer would have the same foot speed as Killshot. -Shadow would be 36 kmph (10 meters/second) and uncontested as the fastest mech. -Cheetah would be renamed to something that doesn't have speed iconography, and have the same health as Panther (second lowest bracket) -Ares' shield wouldn't have a timer, and would function like Juggernaut's with a 15 second cooldown. -Paragon's base speed would be 20kmph, Panthers would be 18, making paragon the defacto mobile attacker, while Panther has to rely more heavily on it's indestructible fence. -Redox's ability would reach 40M, so it has a distinct advantage over 30M weapons and mech abilities. -Zephyr and Guardian, despite how bad it feels to get caught by them, are actually right on the money for a game with the damage per minute and map size this game has.
