I took a quick look at my clan's Discord this morning and saw a recent convo about new weapon ideas. Plarium has a suggestion section on their discord so I guess this was the originating source.
Anyway, rather than rehash that discussion, I thought I'd try to start something here and not limit it to just weapons. What kinds of new gear would you guys like to see in this game?
I really like the current line up of stuff. None of them are especially game breaking - even the Railgun has weaknesses, but everything is pretty evenly balanced. So, here are some of my more immediate ideas. I'll split them into things that I think can be worked into the game's current mechanics and things that would need game rework.
Current mechanics
Light Mech Silhouette max 12 EN, 5.5 km/h, ability: Umbra - When activated, Umbra casts an circular area with 30m radius, any friendly mech in that area cannot be targeted.
This would be like a Shadow 2.0. Similar specs to the Shadow, maybe a bit less HP, and makes it more of a team player.
Buff Lancer to add a second jump that can be activated in mid-air and a 2 sec Stasis effect when it lands (if the second jump was activated), range 10m.
This may encourage more people to play the Lancer. Lancer can be used to stun tight groups of reds which would encourage more team play.
Cheetah 2.0 (need a name) - similar in specs to Cheetah but it's mines applies Stasis rather than damage.
Ability: Expose - shoots a drone up into the sky that reveals red positions and simultaneously hides friendly mechs from the Red Eye. Haven't thought about what kind of mech would have this ability. I was thinking an attack mech with 24EN so that it could make full use of RM12, be pretty fast like 5.5 km/h, but have paper thin armour.
Game Rework
Ok...can't think of anything right now that would require game rework because anything I come up with is automatically too OP.

You’ve got some great ideas here. I particularly like the Umbra and second jump for the Lancer.
Some ideas of thought of:
Cheetah 1.5: make the Cheetah more Cheetah. Increase the cheetahs speed to the equivalent of the KS and Shadow or even faster. Always considered it too slow given its namesake. It’s a very squishy bot; give it the speed and agility to get in, lay mines and get out of there.
Plasma Cannons 1.5: PCs are pretty weak. Scape211 recently used some highly leveled ones in a vid and they still didn’t shine much. Buff ‘em. They don’t need to be meta but you could at least make them balanced and relevant.
Berserker/Havoc/Blitz: Call it what you want. Wheeled mech that has a KS-like scoot ability that’s 50%-100% longer than KS but with no damage or stun ability. It’s ability just moves, fast. Give the Berserker decent health and EN and the ability recharges quickly. Let it get in and create some mischief and get out if it needs to. Please make it balanced. High risk/ high reward mech that compliments skilled play. It could be given a decent recharge time after the ability is used quickly after the second scoot to keep it from being overpowered.

I like Koala's Umbra idea. Maybe give it to Redox? How about a flying bot that drops bombs or mines, plus scouts red positions.
And I thought of a bot called "Nuke". He spawns and energizes in 60 seconds ( ?) then launches a nuke at reds. The nuke damages reds 50% or 75% of original base health. It also does a 5 second mass freeze. Massive armor, nearly immobile, a tough Jugg shield and several guns on auto target. Kill it before it wipes out your team. Based on an old pc game where there was one super tank to kill. Could even be its own game mode.

I like Koala's Umbra idea. Maybe give it to Redox? How about a flying bot that drops bombs or mines, plus scouts red positions. And I thought of a bot called "Nuke". He spawns and energizes in 60 seconds ( ?) then launches a nuke at reds. The nuke damages reds 50% or 75% of original base health. It also does a 5 second mass freeze. Massive armor, nearly immobile, a tough Jugg shield and several guns on auto target. Kill it before it wipes out your team. Based on an old pc game where there was one super tank to kill. Could even be its own game mode. That would be a great campaign mode boss bot! I wish games like these had a campaign mode! I did think about a flying mech or even a mech that can run on walls like the Lancer in their commercial, but I couldn't think of any tactical advantage that would have. In War Robots, the spiderbots can climb up walls, but that tactic I believe, is no longer useful and thanks to the general slowness of most spider bots, they usually end up being sitting ducks. As for flying bots in War Robots, they invariably end up as clay pigeons cause there's no cover in the air and you have to add some sort of mitigation to avoid being blown out of the sky too fast. The only way for now, that I can see a flying mech being viable in MA, is if it can do a dive bomb/dash attack that lets it fly super fast for a sort time. Pilots could use that to ambush a target or reposition very fast to retreat or hunt down those pesky RM and sniper mechs. OU812? great games the other day! I laughed so hard when I saw your Shadow skin! I had changed mine because we were using the same skin, and then I find out that you'd changed yours too! Well, I've got mine with the Pink Bling skin for now. I really wish I could get the Apex Predator one though. That one is awesome. As for Cheetah....yeah, that was the reason I didn't go for it originally. For a mech that is named after one of the fastest land animals, it just ain't that fast!

Yeah, I laughed when I saw our Shadows with the same skin again. Lol, what are the chances. I’m rolling mostly 20s for fortune vaults in hopes of getting the Apex Predator skin. That is a sweet looking skin. The A-Coins are nice too.

Ok, just had a thought....
This game has a class of mechs called Tanks, and they are all pretty tanky, but none of them look like a tank.
So...
How about a mech, that has treads but it walks on two legs, and the treads activate when it's sprinting so it looks like it's skating. 4 km/h, lots of HP, and it's ability is just a centre mounted cannon that fires a projectile that travels in a parabolic path and does splash damage in a wide area. The cannon can be used to fire over low cover or aimed at walls to damage things around corners. It will be powerful but also have a long recharge.

I just want an RPG 10 (or a 9 for EN18 mechs). I get why they don't exist and that they'd be too dominant, but it's annoying how RPGs top out at 6, they are such a fun weapon to use.
