Let's see if we can get some discussion going. I subscribe to two streaming services, Netflix and Disney Plus. Disney Plus has been great in that they added Star, so there's tons of older shows and movies that are not necessarily for kids.
From Disney Plus, I'm currently watching through all 4 seasons of The Strain. It's a great modern take on vampires. Plus, my family and I recently had a MCU marathon so that was pretty cool.
On Netflix, Alita Battle Angel was a pretty good adaptation of the manga/anime Battle Angel Alita. I don't know how many years I waited for it. Now, if only they'd do a Mai the Psychic Girl adaptation, that would be awesome - sans nudity of course!
Castlevania is now complete with Season 4 just dropping. An awesome show about more traditional vampires. Yes, I love vampire stuff! But, please, no Twilight...
Love Death and Robots season 2 also just dropped. Sadly, it's only 8 episodes and not as good as season one, but there were still a couple of memorable episodes. That first one with the robot vacuum was hilarious.

Well...
Lately, "The Handmaid's Tale" on Hulu. Super-dark. I hope it never becomes scarily prescient. We're half-way through S3.
Y'all need to see "The United States vs Bliile Holiday." Andra Day stars in the role of a lifetime and the Oscar went to Frances McDormand for Nomadland. Wait, what? Ms. McDormand was good but I find it quite hard to believe she had to push herself hard to play the blasé role she had. "Dig deep Frances, find your inner, boring person and let her thrive on the outside." *sigh*
Derry Girls (on Netflix) - If you haven't seen this yet and refuse to watch it, I'm booting you from this forum... "Moderator Powers, ACTIVATE!"
Fleabag (on Netflix?) - Great writing. Unique. Well acted/directed.

I absolutely concur on Derry Girls, just finished both seasons for the second time. Currently midway through “The Blacklist” and “Ripper Street”. Highly recommend both.

Thanks for the reco on Derry Girls. I'll check it out when I'm done making my way through the Marvel stuff. I want to like them, but they're SO ponderous...currently watching The Punisher S2 and I like the team up between him and the teenage con artist/hustler chick. But...these shows all have something in common...why does it take so long to get to the point??
Anyway, watching Castle on DP with the kids. They like it. I tried to get them into Bones but they didn't like that.
The Blacklist was great for a couple of seasons, and when we started it back up, we stopped in almost the same place. It got so tedious with all the episodes being seemingly made from the same cookie cutter.

Derry Girls is a short commitment. 2 Seasons, ~12 episodes total. Milk-out-the-nose funny at times.
