Hi everyone, I found this game in my Play Store last night and wanted to share it with you all. play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sgs.war.robotsI've recorded one game this morning and will be uploading that to my YouTube soon. For those who like walking tank type of mecha, then take a look at this. The mechs are simplistic but realistic. There's only one game mode and one map right now but the game play is pretty engaging yet simple. You can't select fire your weapons (that I can see) and there's no fancy shmancy OP opponents (yet), and game progression is similar to Mech Arena where everything unlocks over time and experience. I haven't unlocked or bought any other mechs yet. So far, it looks like there's only 3 mechs available anyway so I won't be doing that any time soon. I think there's some human players too cause in one game, while we were waiting for the game to start, the guy next to me turns to me and shoots me with dual shotguns. I think he just got them and was trying them out. He decimated the other team once he got into range. I just picked up one shotgun so far and it's pretty brutal and the firing effects look awesome. I'll try to take another video later. It's not going to replace my Mech Arena playing time by any means, but I think I'll be playing whenever I finish my daily tasks in MA.

Not really piquing my interest right now... gameplay looked kind of... IDK... vanilla?
That may change, of course.
Cheers for diving in and recording it!

"Realistic" quickly vanished to my mind when I see those bots on top of each other as if they're merged. Imagine that with aoe types of guns

Lol, the game needs a lot of work but I don't mind spending a little and telling folks about it cause I think it's got potential.
The MM is nonexistent though. Several games, I'm thrown into a 1:1 match with a human who has long range sniper weapons and just stands at their spawn. I can't even make it across the field to get into range. Other times, I faced humans whose mechs have shields and appear to take little to no damage even after the shield comes down. I just quit those games.
There is a lot of work needed on the map too. The cover offers no protection from fire, and most matches devolve into mass brawls where both forces intermingle like a scene out of Braveheart.

Just a tip. If you find yourself in a 1:1, just quit the game and start another.

Just a tip. If you find yourself in a 1:1, just quit the game and start another. Yeah, first game against another human I got absolutely steamrolled. Guy just stood there and melted me as soon as I spawned. I have no idea what he was shooting me with, because you can’t see other players hangars, but I couldn’t move while I was getting hit. Only took about 5 games for that to happen.I think I got killed about 7 times. Won’t take too many more of those before this one finds itself right next to War Robots in the trash can. Oh yeah, and it takes increasing time to upgrade gear, and you can only do one upgrade at a time, just like that other crap pile. It’s already pretty strong showing signs of P2W. I don’t think this one is gonna last long.

I just quit those games. I don't bother sticking around. I think I've seen other people quit too. I'm just gonna play casually. If they don't fix the MM or have a MM of any sort, I'll likely give up before too long too.

Funny.....although not affiliated with World of Tanks Blitz, the concept of having entry level as everyone has the same bot/tank/weapon.....very similar.
To the beat of my knowledge there is no AI in WOT Blitz, and War Robots has been the only game I’ve played that starts out with AI.
I saw the ad for this game, wasn’t interested, but do appreciate a free look!

Had to add this, off of WOR download page...... Looks pretty much like War Robots Powerplant to me, anyways.....makes me wonder, do Russian kids copy each other’s answers when little in school, the that carries on to adulthood? Does anyone have an original thought these days?

I haven't deleted yet, but I'm getting there. After a few days, it's just the same. I'm either plodding along and killing bots or getting creamed by a higher level human.
Sigh...I just want a fun and balanced mech game with realistic graphics and mechanics...is that too much to ask for??

Sigh...I just want a fun and balanced mech game with realistic graphics and mechanics...is that too much to ask for?? Apparently it is too much to ask for. Pixonic spent all that time and resources into making the graphics better, but never addressed any of the real fundamental problems with the game. I still can't walk down a ramp without skipping. Have to turn to the side. Bots are still jumping around all over the place due to lag. So either they're all incompetent, lazy, don't have a clue about the player base... or perhaps the top players don't care that much about all the bugs and just demand better graphics. And since the top 1% of players is where 99% of the revenue comes from, my guess is the latter which drives their business decisions. They would have to actually start losing a substantial amount of revenue from lags, in order to fix it. Forget the bugs, MM algorithms, etc., bring on the content! I assume they onboard just as many new players to counter all the old players that leave. So... I guess nothing will ever change.
To a certain extent, pushing features over quality is a viable business model. Sad, but true. I see it everyday in non-game software as well. The mentality from upper management is fix only the bugs that would prevent sales, or pisses off a high paying customer.
Anyway... I guess I turned this into a Pixonic rant. Sorry.

Ok, game deleted and 1 star review left. Game became mind numbingly boring. I couldn't even get to level 4 to unlock the triple fire cannon that higher level players were using against me. 1v1 battles became nothing more than camp fests with the other player camping at this spawn and hitting me with longer range guns. Sigh... I'm giving Mech Wars another try.

So, I got a response for my 1 star review. I guess the developers have some sort of notification when a bad review is given. This is my review and their response. I can't tell if they're being sarcastic with the (no) at the end. Kinda like how about 20 years ago, kids would same something passive aggressive and the add "NOT!" at the end. If it's sarcasm, then I guess I'll never go back and try the game again. But if they were sincere, I might check them out again in about 6 months or so.
World Of Robots Your rating:★ This game has a lot of promise. But it also needs a ton of work. The matchmaker is non existent and you will be put in to games with your newbie gear against people who can kill your mech at range and won't take a single scratch from you. I do enjoy the walking tank mechanics of the game play and will keep playing casually until I get bored.
Developer response:
Thx for 1*, this will help us a lot to attract more people and finish the game (no)

Either that is sarcasm, or an automated bot reply. Either way its a crap response. F em It is my prediction that this game will die out faster than Pixonic can nerf the Orochi. Just watch. I'd much rather have have pixonic than these idiots who are sarcastic to their own playerbase. At least pixonic doesn't say stuff like that. Heck, they don't even reply to the community at all. Of course Plarium, despite sounding like some sort of drug, outclasses them both,

If they responded with,"We received your fedback and are working feverishly to fix it" - that would go a long way with me. Bad move on their part. PR is important.

Anyway... I guess I turned this into a Pixonic rant. Sorry. Oh, they have a clue about player base. That clue is, there’s a portion of the population that’s willing to spend big to gain an advantage over everybody else. they may not cater exclusively to that population, but they are most certainly the focus when it comes to game design. Pixonic has admitted it on multiple occasions. While they won’t come out and say they don’t care about the minnows and F2P’s, the fact is that they don’t other than providing krill for the whales. Mech Arena seems to be a little more subtle about it than most; they still have their ways of enticing spending, but it’s a little less unmerciful than the others if you don’t. All the rest, as far as I’ve seen, starting with War Robots, suck you in early then make it difficult if not impossible to compete without spending. If you don’t mind being cannon fodder most of the time, you can play for free as long as you want. Most people do mind, and they’ll either spend to be competitive or quit, and it’s the spenders these games are going after.
