Was hunting reds earler and came across reconnecting on the opposite team, and it made me think the only reason I was gunning for him is because I knew he wasn't a AI. What if we changed our names to match or mimic well known AI bots? What are your thoughts?

The AI loadouts and playstyles are predictable and consistent. Unless you plan on running the same loadouts and skins as the AI, and start playing like the AI, it doesn't make much difference.

I can tell if a player is human or AI in a couple of seconds of observing them, either from movement patterns or builds

I've gotten excited whenever I see a name I recognize like Deadeye only to be disappointed that it was the AI version of him. I like being different from AI names. Yes, I can figure out quickly who is AI or not, but I've been fooled before. I used to think that AI only use default skin and paint jobs and generic load outs, but that seems to be changing.

I have a running theory that some of the skins/paints they're using are the red flag that they're more likely to be the bane of your existence. Yellow Paragons tend to have long arms. Silver Bling Juggernauts hate you and your whole vibe. Et cetera.

I see a lot of AI Surges....I wonder if the AI has to go through the same "gather resources and purchase new gear" cycle that we go through. It would be cool if they did and would make a certain amount of sense cause that would explain why not ALL the AI players have the new stuff.

Agree with some of the other posts...
Trying to hide who you are may provide an advantage for some battles, but it only takes one or two good looks at your player to tell that you are not AI. Plus, if a fake AI kills you, when it shows you their POV before you pick your next bot, their loadout is shown, and unless you are dressing like an AI too, it will be obvious.
Waste of ACoins.

Pretty sure the AI has weighted distributions based on the rarity of the mechs and their programmed loadouts depending on the hidden MM bracket the player is in. For instance, if you're in the bracket where the AI gets 2 18 EN medium mechs, the RNG table for those slots would look like: Killshot Carb 8+10 Zephyr LA8+10 Zephyr Carb 8+10 Zephyr Stasis 12+ TL6 Juggernaut Carb 8+10 Juggernaut Stasis 12+TL6 Ares Carb 8+10 Ares Stasis 12+TL6 Surge Carb 8+12 Surge Stasis 12+TL6 Early MM bracket the weighting will lean towards the more common mechs, like Jug and Killshot. Further in the bracket would reduce the RNG weight of Jug and increase the RNG weight of Zephyr Later in the bracket would have Killshot in the RNG table for "Light" mechs the AI can pick, making Ares, Zephyr and Killshot in the same hangar more common. At the highest brackets surge would have a similar weight to Ares, and most AI hangars will have a Zephyr.

It's only an advantage for the first kill. I know the fighting patterns of AI vs RL humans. Kill me once, shame on you. Kill me twice, shame on me. I'm coming for the hoomans! lol

Actually I’d rather deal with the cheap replica. It’s much less of a pain in the tookus.
