So what is up with devs taking away the SP data for each mech on each team before the match starts?? I like to know which meched has 2000 SP and which has 1200 before the match starts. It may also hint at the human players too. I want that back!

I think it's because player's see MM has put them against maxed player's and so they leave.I played three rounds of tourney after the update and all three had a player with over a thousand SP more than me,complete waste of time as I got my 「bum-bum」 handed to me three times.
I pointed this out on the discord channel and was told because the players had paid to upgrade faster than normal play it was ok but they were working on it.
Dare I say whales and krill arrived with this update.
You still get to see who kills you and a look at a maxed bot and weapons reveals who you are up against.

I agree, I like to see what I’m up against before the match starts. Sometimes it might determine which mech I start with. Oh, and don’t believe anything they tell you on the discord server. The guy supposedly speaking for the devs is just a glorified shill. Very condescending and dismissive of any criticisms of the game and/or devs. Major 「bum-bum chapeau」 and the biggest reason I deleted my discord account.

If I'd never had the feature to begin with, this wouldn't be a problem. Now that we've had it forever, it's hard to deal with it being gone. We got used to it. Relied on it. I know I did. It's the primary method for IDing RL players and seeing how much of a threat they'll be. It was also a good gauge to know how much I'd been playing and how hard each game was getting. If the AI hanger strengths kept creeping up, then I knew it might be time for a break. Oh well, it's not a deal breaker, but it still kinda sucks.

Hoping it gets corrected during one of their mini reboots that happen after a new version drops.

Hoping it gets corrected during one of their mini reboots that happen after a new version drops. I doubt it,it seems intentional and done for a purpose.Different player's have different views on what that purpose is.

What's weird about this is that the Devs required SSs of the Pre-Battle list that showed SPs for their proof of MM chicanery when submitting bug reports about it. Not sure the thought behind this change... Saw one person joke "Well, if players don't know they're mismatched, they won't complain... MM FIXED!" Either way, I don't like it either. I assume it's more tweaking/testing before Global Launch... but again... why? More information in the players' hands garners more involvement across the board... why don't devs get that? Most peeps who play mech games have an inner nerd (or just all nerd and proud of it...) and get a LOT more enjoyment out of overwhelming amounts of info to use to craft their playstyles and hangars around. Not just this one issue comes to mind... I'd like to know more info on things like the exact spread of Mortars, the exact critical chances from hits, etc. What's the harm? That you can't stealth tweak it without letting us know? Boo hoo.

Thing is, in most cases, that SP number is usually pretty indicative of how players (and teams) are going to finish in a match, especially in TDM.
